Touhou has some of the most masterful score compositions I’ve heard in any bullet shooter. It doesn’t surprise me at all that Toby Fox took some inspiration from this series.

I remember many many years ago, someone commented “lol what’s so special about this song” and as a joke everyone came together and gave that comment like over a thousand likes. It seems so silly, but I truly feel nostalgic for the sense of community I felt in the comment sections of these videos. It’s where I first really got to talk to anybody else about touhou since I didn’t know of any forums or anything at that age
Out of all the ost until this point on the saga, Mokou's theme is a special case in the game. It's intense, it hits hard, it has a long build up, and really REALLY gets you on mood. And hell Mokou is a tough extra boss, with really tricky geometrical patterns, very original and disjointed attacks, makes this battle a one much more memorable

It's pretty slick how mythology use symbolism to describe things in a roundabout way. It's possible that the transformation process occurring as the elixir enters the body...is a description of spiritual awakening. Which makes Mokou the awakened, whole, spiritually perfect version of who she once was.

No because Sagume's ability reverses a situation so the end result is the opposite of what she stated, no situation is involved in that statement and as stated in a prior comment the Hourai Elixir essentially grants absolute immortality.
This is definitely one of my favourite Touhou themes (but it's so hard to choose!) :).

It's pretty slick how mythology use symbolism to describe things in a roundabout way. It's possible that the transformation process occurring as the elixir enters the body...is a description of spiritual awakening. Which makes Mokou the awakened, whole, spiritually perfect version of who she once was.
