Brilliant job…I’m looking to start a similar project…I.e take a really big scale ‘toy’ but use my hobby grade RC stuff to convert it into a detailed large RC….but I don’t have nearly the same skills as you…looks like this really was a labour of love and must have taken you some time….but you ended up with a vehicle that I’m sure no one else has based on your own little attention to details (e.g that wooden floor, gun holder for front passenger). Very very impressive 👏👏👏😎👍
Great job, I am in the process of doing a similar conversion & you have given me great inspiration. may I ask, what did you use for the cog effect around the VW emblem on the hood? it looks great
@@cecilvarnum9667 Hey Cecil, wish you would have taken the time to answer a very legitimate question, which I will repeat again. Is this the 32 inch long RC Herbie the Love Bug? If so it is far too big for 1/6 scale -- closer to 1/4 scale.
@@danpeterson114 I am going to measure again when I come back home, so I can give you a better answer about the scale. It’s a little bit bigger than 1/6 but not 1/4.
Nice conversion job! I was thinking about making one too so glad to see someone had made one already. In the description of this RC toy, it says it is 32 inches long, which seemed too large compared to the Dragon 1/6 Kubelwagen which I was thinking should be about the same length of the Beetle. Could it be that this dimension was the size of the box, and not the car?
Hello there! Thanks for your comment. After I remove the 2 extra protection fenders on the front and back (there are 2 pieces of black plastic like fenders on the front and back) the length come down to 29 inches. The final measurements of this vehicle are L:29 inches, w: 12, h: 11 inches. It’s more 1/5 Scale than 1/6. The 1/6 kubelwagen from 21st is 24x10x10
@@cecilvarnum9667 Ah, it was those extra, non-authentic RC bumpers that made it seem way too large. Like you say, it is closer to 1/5th scale, but certainly close enough to "look realistic". Let's face it, a LOT of the earlier production military vehicles intended for 1/6 scale are noticeably smaller than they should be (like most of the GI Joe ones, and actually look silly with 1'6 figures inside , or on top of them. On the other hand, true 1/6 scale figures look true to scale with the Herbie Beetle. If you keep jeeps and kubelwagens away from the Beetle in dioramas, I doubt anyone will notice it is larger than it should be. Thanks for the update. I will probably buy one now if I see a decent deal. I may even get another one to convert to the Ambulance version with the wooden "dog house" to carry two stretchers with wounded in the back.
@@cecilvarnum9667 Letting you know that I just found and bought a 1/5th Herbie on eBay to make my conversion! Many thanks for this video inspiration! I'm thinking about making mine an Afrika Korps one maybe with Rommel in it! Just noticed your other 1/6 vehicle conversions. I'm inspired to make the Superjeep ambulance too now!

Everything perfect. The car, the figures. Nice job. Congratulations.
Thanks buddy!
Excellent job love it. So realistic and the figure adds a polished touch
Man it looks so real 🤩😯😮 God bless 👌🤩👌 you and your family keep those awesome videos coming God bless Gi Joe Eddie epic adventure over and out 😎👍
Thanks buddy! Roger that!
I own a real 1952 split window zwitter beetle so I had to purchase the new RC Commanderswagen , from Rochobby !
Herbie goes to war, Disney would not approve but,
good work!
Spettacolare. ciao dall'Italia
Thanks!!!!

Thanks buddy! A lot of research on each one, details are the most important. I wish I can do it better.
God! I thought it was real.. nice job

Awesome my love‼️
Thank you my love! Thanks for support my hobby! Love you
Looks good but the Gauge needs to be in the center up untill like 1952
Is this car 1/1?
I can't believe it's a 1/6 scale model.
It's a perfect model
Thank you!
Awesome love it
Thank you!

It’s a little bigger but it’s the best we can do with him.

I question the grey interior, but otherwise, nicely done.
