Legendary, award-winning actress Gena Rowlands joins post-secondary students and faculty for a Q&A following a screening of the John Cassavetes-directed Opening Night.

Gena is my favourite actress. She is so brilliant she can bring out emotions I can hardly cope with. I am old and it is 4am so May have to watch this later but I have it saved. Thank you dear Gena.

gena rolands and her husband john were incredible perfomers he was a great director she was a one of a kind actress god bless them both

Sadly very few interviewers - even the most lauded ones - are actually up to the job of meeting and interviewing great talents like Gena Rowlands. This guy is a case in point, useless! Why they put themselves up for these prestigious jobs when they must know they are not up to it, is beyond me!

Opening Night is my personal favorite Cassavetes film. So much happening above and beneath the surface in the scenes onstage. An excellent picture. Chinese bookie is close second!

One of my most favourite actresses. I first saw he back in the early 1980'2 in a series of made for TV movies which were both popular and a wonderful vehicle for older film stars, stage stars and the younger up and coming stars. Her range is 'phenomenal'. Even into old age Gena remains classy and naturally beautiful. I feel very grateful to have seen a lot of her work and the pleasure she has given through each performance. At the very beginning, I was instantly bothered by the interviewer. I wanted him to grab the mic off of Gena's chair, then wait for her to sit down first, hand her the mic, then he can sit down.
He may have been nervous, but you gotta be a gentleman.

I don't know why, but it kind of irked me that the interviewer did not sit until after Ms. Rowlands' was seated. Also, I wasn't really impressed with him as an interviewer.

Yep - Goddess pretty much sums up Gena Rowlands! And she found an amazing match in John Cassavetes. Wow what a beautiful, charismatic and talented couple they were.
Before she said Woman under the influence I was thinking, Woman under the influence.
Jesus. Only a few minutes in but looks like we've got a sixth-form media student with no experience at all interviewing a GIANT of art house cinema!! Embarrassing.
Apart from anything else being middle-aged helps to appreciate where Gena Rowlands is coming from in those Cassavetes films. I would've like a middle-aged interviewer to draw out the significant stuff....with empathy, rather than off a A4 piece of paper.
