    Excellent !!
    I love SD1s.
    I had a 1985 2600 Vanden Plas many years ago. It was always breaking down but I still loved it !
    I would love another SD1... probably a 3500 Vanden Plas EFi.
    Right now, I own the SD1's nemesis... a 2.9i V6 1987 Ford Granada Scorpio (Scorpio Ghia)... as well as many other cars !

      No need for the thanks, you're welcome. That's quite an impressive list!
      For me it's enough work keeping my 320i (E30) in a rolling condition.
      Save driving!

      @@blacktopfieber I love the E30! It is a wonderful car! I had one amd an E28 (545 TD). Both were so lovely.
      I grew up in Mini Coopers of the 60s and 70s, Volvo, Opel and Rovers 2600 and 3500 vitesse. Great memories, especially on longer journeys like England, Scottland, France, Portugal, Spain and a trip with a huge Tabbert caravan, only my Dad and me, for 4 weeks from South Germany to Nordkapp and back through Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland.
      My Dad is dead for many years but my memories will last hopefully for another 30 or 40 years. 😉
      Today I own a Volvo 945 from 1990 (EZ '91) and I am looking forward to make it a real oldtimer by German law.
      I love my old elg much better than our 1 year-old Multivan, although it us a pretty nice car.
      But this car is taking me as a slave and tells me what to do even when it doesn't make any sense.
      My Volvo welcomes me, it embraces me and we are travelling together and it is so peaceful and convenient.
      I am very sad about the development of new cars and so lucky about everyone to save such old cars.
      Thank you for rescuing these beauties and for this very beautiful video!
      It was me a pleasure watching it! 😍🙏🏻🙋🏽‍♀️💞

    Great video, I was the Scottish rep for the SD1 club and owned many sd1 Rovers, from 2.0 to V8, series one and two, manual and automatic.
    I prefer the dash of the series one, but overall, the series two.
    Unfortunately, my V8 VDP was stolen and burned out, it was a rare manual VDP. It broke my heart to lose it. I stick to classic motorcycles now and have a collection of classic Japanese bikes ranging from the 70's to early 90's machines.
    I stick to older Mercedes cars and have a 2006 E320 CDI sport, but, although I like the Mercedes, I still love the SD1.

    Die Autos sind besser als ihr Ruf. Wenn der Wagen gepflegt ist, dann läuft er in der Regel problemlos. Obwohl einfach aufgebaut, hat er ein sehr gutes Fahrwerk. Länge läuft!!! Das Design ist absolut zeitlos, was man heute besser denn je sieht. Mist ist und bleibt die Verarbeitung. Das hätte definitiv besser sein können, insbesondere bei den Modellen bis 1982. Gerostet hat seinerzeit alles was vier Räder hatte. Der überteuerte und bis heute innovationslose VW (Völlig Wertlos) Dreck war bis zum MJ 78 schon nach ZWEI JAHREN so durchgefault, daß die Schrottkarren nicht mehr durch den TÜV kam!!! Da hielt selbst der verrufene SD1der ersten Serie länger!!!

    SD1s looks great for a car originating from the 70s but have crappy build quality associated with brit preyland....

    • @blacktopfieber
      @blacktopfieber  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You know, in Germany even the fans of those cars instead of calling it British Leyland refer to British Elend - which sounds phonetically similar but translates to British Squalor.

    • @hermanmunster3358
      @hermanmunster3358 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yet still, so many remain, even today. They can't have been that bad, to last around 40 years. Not many cars survive 20 years, never mind 40. Yes, they had issues, but they weren't the only car from the 70's, or 80's that had issues. Italian and French cars from the same era were much worse imo, and virtually none of them survive today, except for the odd Alfasud or Citroën 2cv (probably barn finds or museum pieces) but like hens teeth compared to the SD1.

    • @hermanmunster3358
      @hermanmunster3358 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@blacktopfieber Yet VW's and Audi's from the same period were just as bad, if not worse than anything built in Britain. How many pre 1990 VW Polo's or Golf's remain to this day, or Audi 80/100's? You'll be lucky to find a single one. You may find the odd Mk1 Golf, rusting away in somebody's garage somewhere, and a few RESTORED VW Beetle's, but the other cars mentioned, are pretty none existent today.
