Great tips and informative. We’re getting ready to try our first winter ski trip in an RV and your video was very helpful. Thanks!

Yep, but having the hay in bags well cinched up prevented any mice problems for us.

A diesel heater would have been very helpful! I know a couple of people who have them and they work great and put out a dry heat which helps with the condensation issues one can have.

Yes, but arming an extra fuel is why we don’t use one. Our coach is a gas coach.

The biggest challenge we had after 3 years of full time RV living in our 5th wheel was keeping moisture at low level.... I had to redo my roof after 2 winters . It had black mold all over the plywood in the roof
The problem is ,,, there no barrier vapour in those RV's.... even if it is easy to keep the inside warm and cozy....
The warm air escapes and meet the cold air... creating condensation and mold later on
It would be so easy for the RV industry to install barrier vapour while they build the RV...

We had some condensation and used a small dehumidifier, but it wasn’t as much of a problem as I’ve seen it with others. So maybe the insulation in all the areas we could helped. We also used electric heat as much as possible as it is drier than propane heat.

Did you bring the slides in when it was really cold? If so what was the criteria?

No we did not. We survived below 0 temps. We did make sure to use Draft Dodgers on the inside wherever we noticed cold around the slides. We used our infared thermometor looking for cold seeping in.
