Fl first iteration sounded good. Logic first interation did a better job. When you roll out a new feature it should be good and not a work in progress.

I think the Splice integration is insanely good, especially the fact that you can drag a part of your song and have an AI search for you, that is no catching up.
I think that it's good enough to be a production tool (using some elements from certain audio, etc), not mixing though. I also wonder how DAW's compare to iZotope RX's Stem Separation feature.
you're absolutely right. Having the ease of use to have steam separation in the DAW is super useful but if the quality is not gonna be acceptable, I still prefer to use an external tool

I think they should consider giving the user the option as sometimes it's good to have a fast unmix but sometimes you want a high quality unmix. Spectral Layers, which runs in Studio One as an ARA, will null out to the original using high quality.
I started with Studio One version 1.3 and stopped at ver 5. It's still is my main DAW, but I see no new feature worth upgrading to. As you mentioned, they are playing catchup and not doing well either. Dropping the price and the Artist (intro) edition I think was a big mistake, devaluing the software just to grab a few Ableton users.
Bro forget the damn new features. They fixed the x4 slower export times finally. I tested Studio one 6 vs studio one 7. Same export was 3:30 on S6 and 50seconds on S7. FINALLY
I hope you won't stop recording materials about mixing because they help me a lot. It's a bit unfair that you don't have more views, but that will probably change one day. Thanks
I've been saying this for over 10 years. Studio One sonics lacks transient information. Therfore the sonics are more duller and flat compare to other DAWS ex. FL, PRO TOOLS, LOGIC, CUBASE, LUNA etc. The stem separation feature is now revealing the lack of transient information in the low mid and high mid in Studio One's sonics. If you take the separated stems from Studio One and import them into one of the other DAWS that I mentioned, you'll notice a huge sonic improvement. The issue is Studio One's sonics in general.
No stem separation in any software is perfect... Some better than others? yes... but aside from that studio one 7 is probably one of the best daws out right now
It's good for a quick separation when needed but the best imo, none of those other Daws sound as good as Serato or Ripx when it comes to stem separation. The other features is where it shines. Splice integration is magical. Who else got that?
@@nahtesteven6117oh believe me, I know. I have a couple workaround options. But like you said. It’s just so frustrating that they don’t make it an option like other daws. They spend so much time trying to play catchup… but only on things that aren’t really important.
@@2probeats I mainly mix through buses to do the heavy lifting and after a whole mix with heaving plugins it can be taxing on my CPU. If we had a simply button to freeze buses it would make mixing for me faster.
@@2probeats well personally I would just like it to essentially release some cpu load when I’m mixbus processing. Freezing tracks is great, but sometimes I use some pretty cpu heavy tracks on a mixbus which slows everything down

In my experience RX was the best and a comparison video between RX and S17 sounds like a great idea!

Great video. I thought it was just me. I switch between Logic and Studio One and was pretty disappointed when I did the same tests as you.
