  • Often times we need to get our data to something like airtable to do more with it. We can use tools like zapier or make, but eventually they cost money and it is more services to connect and manage. I like doing it with Webflow Logic, keeping it all managed in one place instead of spread out.

    Great Tutorial - you managed to take a complex topic and turn it into a fairly straightforward task - got it work - Thank you !

      Thank you! And yes it’s very nice. This with user account actually lets you do some powerful stuff!

      @@gammadesignco4102 They've added Memberships as well... but at first look... It's VERY rudimentary, and not very useful apart from locking or unlocking pages from logged in, or non-logged in users. I can't seem to do much with it. I'm even trying to figure out how to say "Hello {{FIRSTNAME}}" on the front end and it seems that the user variables are not exposed for display. Not very robust.

    How did you figure out date input field?

    How about the other way round - a record is created or updated in Airtable and should trigger a flow in Webflow to update or create CMS items?

      I am actually going to be testing this soon, there is a webhook function I haven't used (yet). But for now, there is a two way syncing tool I am going to look into I heard about on Connor Finlayson's channel! I think it is called whalesync? I hope I am correct on that one!

    • @EmilVillumsen
      @EmilVillumsen ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gammadesignco4102 Yeah Whalesync seems able to do this. Hoping for Logic to do this natively too, should be possible, at least by pushing a form manually to get and patch the data. Looking forward to your video tutorial on this, got a handful of client projects where this would be useful

      @@gammadesignco4102 Finsweet Nobull app does the same thing I believe.

      @crooker2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@shaneomac151 I've tested and am using Nobull for this exact purpose. It works great. However, it needs to be said... Nobull will sync ALL articles everytime the publish button is clicked. So if you have a LOT of content, it might take a while. It's still in beta. I think their full release (v2) will only sync new stuff.

    can I send that info as a automatic response email as a feedback for the user who submitted the form? for example " Thannk you for your submission [input-name] the data you sent us was etc."

    • @gammadesignco4102
      @gammadesignco4102  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes you can, you’ll probably want to use an email service like sendgrid, Mailchimp, convert kit, klaviyo, etc. The native email option can only send to project collaborators/editors.
      It will be an http request and you’ll follow documentation from whichever app you’re using to process the request!

    I really liked your tutorial. But I have a question regarding the topic. Is there a way to connect to different text Elements together and get the output from Airtable? In my example I have one Drop down field with maybe 15 Drop down text items. under the drop down field is another field which is empty in the beginning but then should output Data related to the Input choosen in the Drop down item. So if I Choose "Flightbooking" in the Drop down field in the second field the conneted item should automatically Appear like "I want you to book a non stop flight for me". Is it possible to output such information trough the connetion of Airtable and Webflow? Is Zapier also needed for this process? Thx

      So if you’re pulling data from airtable, this starts to get more advanced. Logic will take site data and send it out. It will not call data in. For that, you’d need to have your own script (or something like wized) to set up this process. You’d need to fetch the data from airtable with the script, then replace the html text with the data you fetched. Then you’d need to build logic into that.
      You’d have to set up your form to mimic what you database has if those options don’t change. If it’s static, a tool like formly can combine to create logic paths and you can use Webflows Logic to do your post calls.
      It does required more work, but it is doable.

    Great tutorial it was super helpful, a use case I'm interested in would be displaying a user's purchases in Webflows membership page. I would assume Logic and Airtable would be the best option here

    • @gammadesignco4102

      Great suggestion! Maybe something I can explore. I can see no bull or whalesync working with this. Or if you have a paid airtable, maybe automate a webhook and have it go into webflow logic to update a cms item or account

    The only issue I found was webflow check boxes return a value of TrueTrueTrueFalseFalseFalseFalseFalseFalse and how do we convert to multiselect in airtable - any solutions ? :)

    • @gammadesignco4102
      @gammadesignco4102  ปีที่แล้ว

      So I thank that it’s just the nature of check boxes. I haven’t come across anything that has gone around that issue. It can get messy if there are a lot of check boxes and I get that myself on my onboarding form.
      One thing I will try is using the clean up feature of TryFormly. I’ll report back!

    What about Airtable to Webflow?

    • @gammadesignco4102
      @gammadesignco4102  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Going from airtable to webflow is much more complex. It needs something like whalesync or nobull from Finsweet. If not, it takes some custom code or use of make or zapier unfortunately.
