@PushMe TotheEdge88 that’s exactly what i was thinking but perhaps they put him out there cause of his hitting power. so they really didn’t expect to see them going flying past gronk
This definitely needs a part 2. Dante hall's human joystick catch and run, randy moss's catch and lateral, the philly special, pretty much everything Michael Vick did.
I was at that Eagles-Bills game. In those days, my seat was in that end of the stadium and I always watched the ball through my binoculars. I'm still amazed at how 6'5" Randall Cunningham was able to duck under 6'4" Bruce Smith.
That throw was ridiculously good. He was on his heels moving the opposite direction and still got it 60 yards in the air where only the receiver could catch it.
I'm South African and when I'm watching football my default is to look for a pass! I'm wondering why they don't pass more when they can, wouldn't you gain more ground if you made good decisions?
@@danielshaw9979 Since you can shepherd the ball carrier, it is much more efficient to have your teammates run before you and carve a path. However, that is not to say there are no set pieces that involve a backwards (lateral) pass. One is called "the hook and lateral" where The receiver runs a hook pattern, catches the ball and laterals to a trailing teammate as soon as he makes contact with the defense. Another is called the "Flea Flicker" where the quarterback hands off to the halfback, who then turns around and passes back to the quarterback, and he throws it downfield. Another is the "Statue of Liberty" and it's variants, where the quarterback looks like he's dropping back to throw, and then passes back to a back running behind him. And think about this: every play of the ball starts with a backwards pass: the center passes the ball between his legs to the quarterback.
@John Smith okay that all makes sense, so what are the rules? From what I saw it's that you can only have I think 2 forward passes. But as a last resort could you literally just play like in rugby, gaining ground then lateral passing?
Even as a pats fan, the miami miracle at the start was pretty impressive. Also, in high school when players play both ways, thats why there are no tight end/safeties.
@@hanfreemanI'm guess they were anticipating a hail Mary so they put their best and tallest receiver. Apart from that I don't know why they'd put him there
I love these moments in pro sports. It's fun to see some of the most highly trained athletes on the planet fall back on the silly shit we all did as kids. Sure, that linebacker may be a sentient human refrigerator with malintent, but he looks just as shocked as I'd be when an errant pass all but falls directly in his hands.
9:10 -Mahomes to Kelce did a little shimmy But sitting at the game and getting smashed , WHO DEY, , Money MAC kicking us in to the Super Bowl at the last second 🤩 Best game ever been too🤓
lol i have work to do and came here by accident told my self, ill watch one minute. Foot is a drug and ended watching the whole video. god i miss playing football. Getting older, now i remember those friday night lights were heaven , we were in paradise. i miss football so much
the best part of the miami miracle in my opinion was the announcers. I believe Jim Nantz (apologies for spelling it wrong if I did), his partner asked "which game are you calling?" he responded "I'M CALLING BOTH GAMES".
The "both games" moment was done by Kevin Harlan on the call for LAC @ KC in week 17 2019 -- the "Miracle in Miami" was week 14 2018, and called by Ian Eagle. Harlan started calling plays from the simultaneous MIA @ NE game and noting the KC crowd's reaction to them, where the Dolphins beat the Patriots at Gillette in a much more conventional way.
So on the one hand humanity can count literature, engineering, science, technology, art, music, medicine, math, and philosophy among the highest accomplishments and on the other hand we have these people who run and throw balls.
Could there be a more Raiders play than a backwards lateral longer than the original forward pass? I can imagine what Carr is thinking, "didn't I just get rid of this? How did it get all the way back here?"
Actually, thinking about it, it was a brilliant play. How do you erase a penalty? Retreat far enough to relinquish the first down so you fail to convert the 4th and short and they decline the penalty. Modern problems require modern solutions.
Something so satisfying watching shady Mccoy hold that ball one handed and shimmy( I know it's not the preferred method of ball handling but damn it looks cool)
As a big rugby fan,I'm always surprised that NFL teams don't have more plays with lateral passes. You could set up a double quarter back play, dump truck plays, etc.
Bro #49 for the bears who tried to take it in himself lowkey pissed me off lol, like #12 was open for the pitch with #17 right in front of him to make a block if dude would have pitched it 🤦🏽♂️ that’s someone who never gets to touch the ball and he wanted to be the Hero 😤🤣🤣
the first play with the dolphins was one of the most amazing plays i’ve seen
i was so confused why gronk was at safety😂😂

The Falcons with Deion Sanders, the DOUBLE lateral to beat the Saints in the playoffs
That one handed catch in super bowl 1
the whole pro bowl this year
Some of those plays the Steelers would run when they had antwaan randle el could go on a part 2 as well.
Gronk is fast, but he's not fast enough to play safety.
Do best “ forced fumble” moments aka (best strips and punches etc)
That’s just a Darius Leonard highlight reel
Nah cuz there isnt really good strips maybe clutch but honestly there all just the same
A strip sack ok sounds like fun video to make
Peanut Tillman
Yea

the throw as incredible.
Jesus loves you

Many of these plays really shows our football's rugby roots.

And it makes the game more interesting to watch

Thank you for putting a Fran Tarkenton clip on this it was literally his thing he basically invented it or at least revolutionized it

Do best incompletions ever (kinda like when mahomes threw the ball when he was parallel to the ground in super bowl 55)
Or when Tyreek Hill caught a ball in the end zone but everyone thought it was incomplete 😂
So cool to show the replays like that. Massive props!
To be honest, that last ditch effort turned win for the Dolphins against the Pats will still always be upset game of the century 👍🏻
This was my favorite ding video i think ever. Great idea whoever suggested.

I would enjoy that
idk if someone's commented this already, but Michael Dickson's double-punt is the most backyard thing ive ever seen in NFL haha
You know something is good when an announcer says "THAT WAS SICK"
