    I personally am a Catholic and I think I will probably always be, but there's a lot of points in these video that are actually true. Some religious people are very ignorant and try to mock and convert everyone who doesn't have the same opinion to them.
    Keep up the good work, Barry. Good video as always.

    This may be interesting... Let’s see!
    Edit: I have a friend that is a Jehovah’s Witness and overall he is a cool guy. Only in rare circumstances has he brought it up, for example someone in my school came out as transgender and his response to that was: “I don’t support it, but I’m not going to make their life miserable because of it”
    He has also brought up once before how he cannot celebrate birthdays or other days relative to a certain person which I found very interesting
    Currently I’m just beginning to watch this video, I’ll see if I learn anything more!
    Edit 2: Just watched the video, interesting! Some stuff you brought up I can’t really say I’ve seen in my friend. Mainly the computers part and internet part.
    Great Video!

    Barry this video has actually helped me a lot. I was born into a Christian family and I thought for the longest time there was no other way, now I am 16 and when I was around 14 I started to realize that most of it didn't make sense and for me science seemed more logical. All of my family are Christians and right now I don't feel the same way they do, but I know that if I talk to my family about this they would not accept it and force me to a be Christian and I would get shunned, they would probably even have me talk to a pastor. For the longest time I thought that I was a bad person or whatever for not being a Christian, I felt like the outcast of my family and sometimes I still do. This video really helped me realize I am not the only one and this is something normal to go threw. Thanks for making a great video Barry. btw your my favorite TH-camr.

    This is why I don't associate myself with religion anymore. I was born a Christian and raised like one. But when I was around 13 or 14, I started to question religion, since it made no sense to me. The whole afterlife, specific rules, dedicating my life and energy for a book that was written thousands of years ago. The only people who know I turned to Atheism are my brother and my two closest cousins. Otherwise, nobody in my family knows. When my aunts and grandmother would pray before dinner, everyone would close their eyes and say amen besides me. I am honestly scared to come out and say I don't believe in God anymore. I fear me being shunned, grounded, and hated in my family.

    What I don’t understand is why do we look at two different perspectives as two different sides (for example the Big Bang and evolution and it going against religion), why can’t we combine our knowledge from our religion and our knowledge from science and at least try to see a correlation between them?

    • @rompevuevitos222
      @rompevuevitos222 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Because Religion (specially christianism) comes from a text wich was translated 6+ times from languages so poor that where impossible to read without images (words couldn't describe things properly) and written 30+ years after the facts, so not even reliable enough to be considered

    • @kavaking
      @kavaking 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      NANCOK that's a common misconception. The original texts are still stored in Israel, and have been translated into modern Hebrew. However, many people think it's untrustworthy because of the multiple "translations" which in reality are just rewordings of the text.

    • @WhiteComet_CA
      @WhiteComet_CA 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      NANCOK actually, For Islam, the only Quran out there is the original text and all the translations you find are considered inaccurate, the Quran has never been changed or tampered with.

    • @kavaking
      @kavaking 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Skullbreaker Q8 The Quran was written many years after Muhammed had died, during his life he told three of his friends to transcribe what he said, and then after he died they began to write. So no, by your standards it wouldn't be considered "original"

    • @WhiteComet_CA
      @WhiteComet_CA 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      AeStHeTiCs actually not, they wrote it down when he was alive but organized it into sections when he died, I know my facts I’ve been learning Islam for the past 17 years

    I'm mormon and honestly the thing I hate most about my church is how judgy people are. I don't see why we can't just love and except people for who they are. I just hate how cliquey things get. BulletBarry Thanks Barry. I don't think I'm at a point where I would be willing to leave, but say it ever came to that, what would I do. I want to belive but sometimes I just struggle trying to know god. If I ever did, how would I tell my parents? Or worse yet my grandparents?

    • @SirSkroop
      @SirSkroop 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm Mormon as well, and what helped for me at least, was to think about what God would want me to do, or what God would see as right or wrong. I'm sure it's different in your area, but people that go to my building don't seem that judgy to me. So, (like most things) I think different people just have different opinions. Basically, I think that God is not as "petty" as some of us humans. Like, the people who are judging you or others, and not accepting them or loving them unconditionally, are not following God as closely as they could/should be.
      Not even sure if this helps at all. But pretty much, it helps me to think that if someone thinks you're in the wrong, to try and think about whether or not God would think you're in the right or the wrong. Again, not sure if that helps you or not. Heck it might make it worse for you. But that's just what helps me.

    • @ashgibbons1579

For example you can imagine the hole in the middle as being a large circular mouth of the dragon or the bottom part of the left is the tail and the top part is the head with the neck running down the right side. barry would you consider a pc that has a gtx 750 ti , 4 gb of 800mhz ddr2 ram and intel i5 2400k a middle class pc, or a low end pc. Obviously not a high end as it's no where near vr ready but I'm curious to know and I'm in development of a tech channel and i need to be able to run video editing applications i use a copy of sony vegas pro which is totally not pirated and I plan on recording several videos of like i said technology but with benchmarks of different cpu's if I'm reviewing on the pc and gameplay. Hey Barry, I am really appreciative of this video because I was born into The Jehovah’s Witnesses and being the edgy little 13 year old I am I started to really wonder about some of the ideas presented at the meetings. Then I found a really big flaw in their teachings; If the god is truly a “Happy God” then why is he literally holding us hostage? Personally, I believe there is a god, however I don’t think any religion has ever gotten it right.

    There's a lot of ignorance in different religions including mine. I'm baptist, and I can't describe how many times I've tried to talk about science with people in the faith and I just hated it. Science is all about observing what's around us. Lemme give my point of view for a moment; if God made the world, than why can't we observe the world and see the mechanic he set. That just makes sense to me and that's how I'm able to find my place in science. I appreciate and have faith, but I do also realize that proof of things is proof.

    I myself was a Jehovah witness and was born into it and one side of my family is totally about it while the other is just christan, so this video was very interesting and it was nice to find some other people like myself who kinda left it in a way and was born into it.

    I was attending the event Anime North 2018 the other day and I remember there was a group of Christians who were protesting that anime is bad and as a paraphrase they sad that anime is a sin and said to seek Jesus and stuff and so it said on the banners they were holding. Although Ironically, I'm a christian myself and I disagree on the terms with what they say as like any form of entertainment is entertainment and is made from a person expressing a message or some sort of idea in a story of art. The protest sprung and uproar and many people who were attending the event were challenging these group of protesters and it lasted basically the whole day. I don't know if I'm right or not but I think these religious group of people are maybe Jehovah's witness?

    I am faithful, but not religious. I see religion as a human institution that is based in the culture and politics of the people who created it. Faith is just the belief in a higher being. I am a Catholic, but I don't believe everything I am told in church and o think for myself. I believe that religion is a political institution.

    When I grew up in a family it was mainly a Christian family. But their beliefs on the religion were strictly fundamental. As I started to learn in school and stuff my view changed of what I sought and what I believed as I started to gain an interest in science. In an Ironical sense the Catholic High School I attended at the time had a doctrine on religion that wasn't fundamental and believed on contextualization. Meaning they were religious but accepted all the sciences, not pseudo sciences. So yeah, I as a Christian stand as a religious person who believes in science. I also respect and understand why Atheist believe God wouldn't exist and such but I also look at why he should and could exist.

The ones I've met have had this REALLY WEIRD focus on JUST their religion. It's kinda creepy. And I mean, if you take every given opportunity to bring up your religion... or even lack thereof... well... you got problems.
