Yeah I can fly too without jets, other helicopter and 16 people on the server. Try 32/64. If the other team has a good jet pilot, you can't fly for a second.
Worst enemy to me is definitely jets, especially when they glide behind you like seagulls and use cannons. Usually I find it good to maintain a good altitude, so that you can dive down in case of enemy locking or jets, but to stay high enough so that tanks using canister shells can't fire at you. Use ecm + flares and take your time finishing anti air vehicles from far enough. Best way to destroy enemy helicopters is using tv-guided missiles.
you can move out of the laser sight or when you see the guided missile or jav you can dump ecm jammer while its heading towards you and it will miss cause the missiles requires laser on sight or it misses
Just for your info Chu99y, the Russian attack heli is a Mil-28 Havoc, not a 24 (the 24 is called the Hind), and the American trans heli is a Bell UH-1 Iroquois (or nicknamed the Huey). The version in BF3 is called the 'Venom' (UH-1Y). Hope that helped :)

helicopters are very powerful if you know how to use them , they can even overpower fighter jets in many ways like landing , repairing , secondary gunner trolololol and kicking ass.
Spot people with a small thermal camera would be nice, deploying flares wouldn't be good, dogfights would take forever and you wouldn't need skill to get out of one alive :) The secondary cannon... It wouldn't be fair anymore :P
and plus you should say if you dont know the distance beware cuz missles coming from really far distance wont get derailed by flare unless you wait few seconds and then flare once missle is close
A SAD STORY FROM A NEWB: So I enter an empty server, Wake island map, to practise this flying business. While Im there, someone else enters, possibly the admin. In any case, the dude sees what Im doing, and pops up in a heli and takes my heli out. But in a gentle fashion..like he wanted me to practise w him..so I did, I jump into every airborn vehicle I can lay my hands on, go up, he takes me out..Im enjoying myself greatly, hard but good practise! Although he didnt let me off too easy.CONTINUES
i wonder why you dont get locked on the whole time. i get frustrated piloting a heli cause in 10 seconds everytime i get locked he while time and get killed in less than 3 minutes. tips?
@SuperPimp718 Yep, its as @135twilight and @OSXHD have said. Unless you really optimise the file, TH-cam can take a brick to the quality of the video. Thus, I have spent a lot of time improving the rendering of my videos, and the quality is much, much better now...
oh sorry i forgot the kill streaks in home front were vehicles - all bf3 players are vehicle whore (including me) by kill streaks i meant stuff like simple things that spice up the game play abit eg in homefront - i loved how anyone who got alot of kills would be on the map/radar so no one could camp :D i still need to play medal of honour - which one would you recommend me playing - mainly for the multilayer experience as i assume they are pretty cheap now, there's a new one on the way!
I'd have to disagree. Good teamwork was needed for the double flare system to work effectively. Even so, after they nerfed the helicopters, they completely overpowered the Stinger/IGLA. One engineer with an ammo box is all a team needs for complete air superiority.
The only thing I hate about this video, if that it's "outdated" No more laser painter for support choppers No "double flares" I use to kick ass with those. Maby 1 out of 5 games. I got shot down in a attack choppers and 1 out of 3 in support choppers.
havoc reloads flares & shit faster. ECM jammer on that thing can keep you from getting hit by any laser designated missiles just from it's shortened reload time.... sorta. there is a 1-2 second window that can be taken advantage of but any LOS will null that. i personally hate flying the havoc but it's just as deadly as the cobra but requires different tactics.
ifi see a jet flying low and straight its usually an easy kill for me, and boost/brake turning, seriously you should test the 310 speed method, i find it works much better so much more often
Ground infantry is underpowered now too. So many things can kill you. Tanks, jeeps, helicopters, boats, grenades, rockets, guns, fall damage, team kills, falling buildings, AA guns. Maybe they should make it so you can't die to vehicles so it's balanced. /sarcasm

Yeah, I suppose it would be a little crazy to have double flares. I do like the idea of a stronger mini gun tho. unless you fly really close seems like your shooting a 30 cal and getting hitmarkers for days. And the corsair to aim, is terrible! they need to make it bigger (hard to see, especially with all the smoke and bullets coming out of your mini gun and it's hard enough to see with terrain), like when you have your shotgun.
have you ever tried playing on PC? Because on my opinion it is much easier to fly a helicopter on PC. No offence, but I think your flying is a bit sloppy:) Don't hate me :)
Nobody could attack/defend against my tactics in BF3. It was close to flawless, all these pilots thinking they could beat me. Manuever went like this. (Below radar existed) you stay 15meter above ground while flying backwards. 99.99% will nose down to fire rockets at youmaking them fly towards the ground with speed. Their turn around will be anything from 5-10 sec. When they come crashing down towards you, you fly in underneath them while getting altitude and turning around. You can now lock them or, if they're trying to be smart and stay below radar, you use your gunner since you are above them they cant target you at all. Made my nations national team. Ended up 3rd in Nations cup. Beat Belgium who had the best pilot in the world btw. Yep, he fell for my tactics twice.

This video is VERY VERY outdated. Dice patched out gunner flares, due to the whiny noobs complaining about not being able to take out helicopters, even though 1. You needed timing to deflect properly. 2. If you worked together with your team, you could easily take them out with double IR Flares.
This vid is a joke because your not really under any pressure in this video. Anyone who pilots a heli knows that stingers and jets are more cause for concern than the enemy heli. Here's a real tip from a service star 100 helipilot: Use Air Radar/ECM. Fly low, stay fast and elusive, learn to circle strafe, and NEVER attack a heli headon. The trick to taking out heli's is to stay out of it's line of sight, flank and engage at close range.
I have bf3 on both ps3 and PC, the chopper is unnecessary for those small gameplays on console, also the graphics are so horrible that you can't see everything at an acceptable level. Also it's called the "Viper" not super cobra, that was bf Vietnam. (Damn I feel like a hater, but your video is good)
y dont you guys try letting the helicopter sit in one spot and destroy the objective. if your locked on to you move of course, but that way your not just getting like 20 shots of at a spot. would theoretically make you more deadly. but i dont have xbox live yet so i havent been able to play bf3 online yet :(
It always pissed me off how the havoc was heavier and had less handling while also being an actual transport in real life and yet had the same amount of armour as the viper

Hmm... Good point. The flare should be limited to passenger only. The spotting should emulate the MAV (You can go in and out from viewing the spotting screen) and the secondary cannon should be very weak and be meant for more suppression then anything else. What about a radar jamming system? It would kind of work like the flares. You'd have to be close to enemy equipment in order for it to work.
CONTINUED: SO, he called in some friends, all good, taking flags in F35s and whatnot, but in easy manner..like the admin saw me, called in his superpro clan to have fun with me, and teach me a lesson too..he gets to troll a bit while also feeling like a proud parent, and I get some practise! Ok Guys here you go: ECM MUST be deployed BEFORE missile launch to have 100% efectiveness, javs or tank rounds will ALWAYS hit if deployed after missile launch. FLARES wait till the missile is launched i like to let it get nice and close to deploy. if its close then it will always work. if in a jet use afterburner and fly up at 30degrees for 5 secs then aim to the ground still w afterburner before hitting group pop flares and pitch up. ALWAYS WORKS ( u must be flying away from the missile)
I once was in a Heli with this awesome pilot we lasted so long blasting everyone great flyer he was it was the best...I never had that feeling again :( now every time i get into a Heli it last 20 seconds we lift off and crash cause some boob don't know how to fly I don't fly i don't want to piss people off that wait for that chopper that are decent at it then some dingle berry steels it from him and crashes it and have to wait longer again ..when that good pilot could be holding B Base.
@Mr8Simme laser painter, flares, guided missile. You can lock onto ground and air targets, and the missile cannot be flared :) It is less accurate however, so you have to time when you fire it.
Well I do use it before getting locked on obviously as it is supposed to be used, but I don't know anything about that below radar thing. Is it a default ability or to you have to select it through customization? I usually use laser painter, ECM Jammer and air radar.
Man IGLA and Stingers are USELESS in this game, they take for ever to lock on and they vehicle has to be so blody close you can see if the pilot needs a shave before they will lock. The only way you might get lucky is if you use a Javelin in conjunction with a soflam

Now that missiles don't do shit, a good setup is for the pilot to have is maintenence, extinguisher and heat seakers. Gunner is as follows: stealth, ir flares and guided missile. My friends and i use this and we are almost invincible

yeah, its useful for helis, but not for jets. they cant fly at 25m while in a dogfight meaning you have to break off and try and head out of enemy stinger range and could easily get killed by the jet in the process
The biggest problem with his flying is that he doesn't give his gunner time. A gunner with thermal optics and guided missles is your most dangerous weapon. not you. You just have to avoid being shot down.

When BF3 first released, the gunner had the option to use IR flares as well, but this feature has since been removed by a patch.

They should bring back the bad company crew. I feel they added more humanity into it by making jokes and stuff.
When this movie was made, the gunner had an extra flare deploy. But it was removed by DICE as it was too OP.

I know what smoke is, if you look at the killcam it shows IR flares as an upgrade on the tank which killed you.

it may handle like a tank, but it has superior speed. it is waaaaay fast. a lovely fast actually.

yeah, its useful for helis, but not for jets. they cant fly at 25m while in a dogfight meaning you have to break off and try and head out of enemy stinger range and could easily get killed by the jet in the process
The biggest problem with his flying is that he doesn't give his gunner time. A gunner with thermal optics and guided missles is your most dangerous weapon. not you. You just have to avoid being shot down.
