That's why the saying absolute power corrupts absolutely it isn't really that correct. Most good and responsible people simply would never actually want to deal with being a dictator. Much too much work. That being said power does corrupt put it more so attracts the corruptible.

You earned my like with "Shut up, yes you have."
"Those were the days, my friend, we thought they'd never end"....
Some of his actions seem a tad harsh, but I'm with him on banning Fishing, Journalists, Lawyers and Lacoste jumpers, through.
This guy was mad, I'm surprised I never heard of him before.
Moral of the story: Colonialism is not the worse thing that can happen to/in a country, what comes after can be 100 or 1000 times worse.
And that the people need the right to own guns, just in case someday they stumble into a leader like this and have to deal with it.
Colonialism was a net win for the colonized. They just never appreciate anything they were given. Because nobody likes having a foreign power invade and take over running things, even if they do a good job at running things.
Danky baby, love your stuff. Genuinely makes me smile to see you put up another one. Keep doing your thing man!
You have some of the best "historical" content on the internet
often, schizophrenic leaders are not happy and very paranoid so the key is to choose to be a paranoid leader.
I wouldn't be surprised if Stalin was a paranoid schizophrenic. He killed many of his own men because he didn't trust any of them.

As a German I refute any claims in this video being made.
We do not think of being dictators.
That's such an Austrian thing to do
Be friendly. Have an open mind. Travel the world and learn that a certain Austrian is respected and revered all around the world as a heroic Saint that fought oppressive powers. Funny how that worked out.
@@decorumlopez9147honestly if be didn’t do that really big really bad thing to specific people, the conversation would be a lot different. He did tell them to leave but nobody would take them

36:15 the fact that people actually carried out those orders is incredible. Dictatorships on this level of stupidity have got to have a major impact on where we are as a species
Hey, Dankula. As a Brazilian customs officer working in the border with Paraguay, I ask: please make a video about Paraguay war.
Are you a Receita Federal officer? CDE, Salto or PJC?
Just wondering how many got the "Those rains in Africa have to be blessed" line. I actually did LOL

There's a reason the isekai genre is heavily populated with harems and power fantasies.
Spainish to gold is like America to oil.
You know its inevitable
Your videos about Africa are always some of your best. In terms of crazy dictators I would love to see a video about Jean Bidel Bokassa, and for a really spicy video would be one on Ian Smith.
Fun movie you gotta watch. African Kung Fu Nazis. Best film to come out of Africa. Hard to find, but it’s a pure gem.
You missed an introduction opportunity when introducing Francisco. Ecuadorian Guiana, under his rule was known as the Auschwitz of Africa. “ Francisco the monster of Malibu and father of Ecuador Guiana, the Auschwitz of Africa.”
WTH does Pol Pot look like Elon Musk?!?! 😂
Intro: Personally being a dictator, particularly a benevolent one, sounds like an awful lot of work. Even being a crazy one seems like far more hassle than I'd really like to go through.
That's why the saying absolute power corrupts absolutely it isn't really that correct.
Most good and responsible people simply would never actually want to deal with being a dictator. Much too much work.
That being said power does corrupt put it more so attracts the corruptible.
Even getting there is an insane amount of work. And luck. Look at Hitler, at many points his career almost didn't happen. Mussolini, the same thing. Stalin, he waited for years to get his break. Mao had to fight a civil war. Even I hope future Mad Lad Franco had luck on his side.
@@jakublulek3261 Incidentally, Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead.
I am once again asking you to cover Kim Dotcom.
