Thank you so much for your video. I made a lift assist for my camper and wow it went up so easy . My arthritis shoulder had no problem lifting the roof . Great video , thanks .
Great info champ, I've just bought a second hand slide on camper for my 1 ton ute (the flat tray type bit over 2.3 long and 1.8 wide. It's got the same set up as yours for lifting, but it's aluminium and a bit rickety. There is no way I can get the roof down on my own. I was contemplating getting some different lifting struts over the gas struts but you've given me a much cheaper alternative. Hopefully my lifting frame holds up. Thanks mate for making the effort and time to give out this info
Hi, thanks for the video. We have a clam shell pop top so only need one lifter. We don't have any lifters at the moment, just the gas struts, so it is a "make from scratch" project. The hardest part is the start until the struts take over. I'll do some measuring over the next couple of days and see what I come up with.
I really enjoyed your presentation. Its a simple solution and I will attempt to make tge same mechanism for a square back teardrop type micro camper so you have about 200mm extra roof height.. Thanks again. You are gem. Cheers Allan in Sydney
Thanks for the watching Allan!! We are glad you like our video! Be sure to visit our web page Andy send us pictures of your modification when it’s done. Happy camping !!
Hey guys, thank u so much for your video, just finished camper but can’t lift roof…. lol…. Is there any chance I could buy the design from you guys, I am a 60 years old woman and the roof is just to heavy for Me….. Kind regards, Francesca
Hi Arthur, thanks for watching. We used the original roof lifters and modified them. We cut the lifting handle off and welded 19mm wheel nuts in their place.
Hi This is living, thanks for watching! Although I do like a good mullet I don’t think I can handle them beautiful locks 😂 Thanks for commenting, Happy camping!

fantastic idea mate, I carry that gear anyway like you said for the stabilisers, I’m looking on eBay for these lifters now, Cheers my friend😊
Awesome design. Thanks
Did you build the lift mechanism yourself or did you buy it somewhere? If you built it can I get the plans? with materials list? Thank you, Mark
Nice work. How did you avoid the outside antenna and speaker cables?
Are you referring to the picnic table pantry episode?
G'day Mate. Did you install the lifters yourself? Was it easy?
