⏱️How long does it take to tune a hammered dulcimer? In this video, we find out! You may also ask, “Why does the dulcimer need to be tuned?” The answer is because with use, time, and/or humidity, the amount of tension in the strings will change, causing them to make different notes. 🥴This means we have to use a tuner (which identifies the notes) and a tuning wrench to crank the tuning pins, adjusting the strings to their correct tension/note. A tuning diagram comes with your hammered dulcimer so you will know what note each string should be. 🗓️Typically, we will tune about once a week for maintenance purposes.
