Making any form of media, unless you're writing your own biography, requires the public to not know about your personal life. Just like with teachers, kids have no business learning about teacher's sexual lives.

Playing Dragon Age Origins again on my Xbox One, what a great game it is. I have a PS5, but am increasingly drawn back to older games with rich, immersive storytelling unlike the banal slop that is produced today. And Mass Affect 5? Yikes! I shudder to think what they will produce.

You should try Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines. Game really pulls you in and is not woke, made back in 2004, the sequel will be woke though so I would avoid it.

  • @Alwaysttango

Weird things I've seen in this game that are messages besides sexuality:
The one character you can kill at the beginning is a greedy white man (a mayor)
Tevinters are dark skinned (Persian inspired?) but a random aristocrat can be white, blonde with blue eyes cause he evil. He's lame tho so he pulls a Draco and daddy saves him.
Female antagonist to Lucanis is presented as an evil vixen. Female sensuality is shamed through the game, in Morrigan too. The name of this woman is Zara. Zara like the retail company.
What do all these have in common? Capitalism. It's the most surface level of capitalism=bad I've seen in my life and the misogyni is simply sickening. I hate bigots but I have to agree at this, the devs hate women and have the most asinine views on life.

They're already putting pronouns in that mass effect board game, so we know where the next one is going, not like we needed more evidence after 3's ending and all of Bioware's subsequent products. Tbh even ME2 felt like too drastic a change in direction back in the day from the first game and kotor, it felt significantly less like an RPG.
These "writers" cannot relate to normal human beings because they aren't. Representation for them cannot be an optional toggle either for that matter, so the rest of us will be forced to look at it.

Damn right on Breaking bad, wire and sopranos. I love the breaking bad verse and better call saul. Can you imagine Jimmy demanding his brother chuck that he should be treated as a non binary?
Think of that scene of Jesse getting confronted by his parents of his drug addiction or Nacho's talk with his father that he should quit and call the police. Compare that scene to that cringe inducing scene where this character from Veilguard demands her mother to be addressed as a non binary.

I feel like I am repeating myself a lot in the comments saying this but another great video. Big fan of Asmon myself since 2018, watched his playthrough to see his reaction because of my involvement as a playtester and it was clear he didn't like it. He stopped playing it and has been trashing it's writing a far bit. He said he won't play Mass Effect because it isn't his thing, which is fair. You should check out his latest video on the "Asmondgold Clips" channel about his stalker who is a big Veilguard fan because that's the kind of people you are dealing with that support this game. On the new ME5 stuff, yeah they are going full woke and making the main character an Asari with preachy storytelling that the Asari are a non-binary species. No articles about it yet, but that buddy of mine has a contract to playtest it as he had previously showcased his biotics gameplay in ME3 playtesting. No articles about it yet, so wait and see and I am not asking you to "trust me, bro". Time will tell all truths. I really hope Bioware tanks before it's release because Andromeda nearly ruined the franchise and ME5 is looking like it will too (in my opnion).

Also, after what happened to MrMattyPlays I wouldn't draw that twitter mob on him, myself or you. I am gonna keep it a stack, I think Thomas Maler’s thesis on this wrong. We need more people caring about the characters and lore and interpreting them accurately and faithfully. Inserting personal life experiences is actually part of the problem not the solution.

The more I meet real, talented writers, the more I agree. Life experience is irrelevant, what you need is intelligent people with a huge cultural background, very well read and skilled at psychology who can craft characters that feel like real people. They can be the most boring person irl for all I care. And to prove this: bg3 writers read shakespeare to be inspired to write Raphael and his actor won a bafta

I totally agree about the infantile part, but the politically correct. Absolutely not, in what world being nonbinary is politically correct. Not offencing a democratic, dont mean PC in the real sense.
They are direct to a minor demographic. The term PC is always attribute to the minor demo of population, which is the alphavbetical maffia.
And DA is not bad in writing only, but in lvl design, in combat design, in pacing, in puzzle. All is an apology to mediocrity. Instead of PC its MC mediocracy correct.

@@dustaone8521 Jesus Christ represents an end to religion, to not live as the Pharisees did (nearly all works based religions). A certain overrepresented group controls most of the worlds finance and power. Jesus rebuked them and was crucified by them and represented them still by blood. Coincidence? Just like he still represents the gentiles who rebuke him by the shedding of his blood.
Now whether or not you believe Christ himself is made up by them as a subversion is up to you but from a modern context, as western Civilization rejects him as a collective, the culture is beginning to rot, once the most prosperous in history. Liberalism is atheism, they destroy because they have no basis of morality disconnected from humanism. If we cannot have a clear sense of morality to fall back on, then we will be ideologically enslaved like Russia was, much of south America, and China are. If you're not American or European then sorry for making the assumption.

I don't really believe in a "both sides" in this. If it weren't for the activists aggressively gatekeeping every creative industry there would be no culture war, people would just gravitate towards their niche. But these zealots abhor for a niche to exist. They despise anything that isn't a vehicle for their narcissism. So they hijack. They steal. They also constantly project. They complain about "gatekeeping" and "bullying" while do both on an industrial institutional level. They claim to hate colonizing and love multiculturalism, while they successfully colonize every subculture and run them into the ground. They enforce nothing but their bland, safe, patronizing monoculture. If I could get away from it I wouldn't care. But they won't let us be.
