The songs were good but not quite good enough and they didnt project enough image....Oasis and the Stone Roses both had gobshite front men that commanded media attention AND also had killer songs to back it up.
Steve not sure I agree with you about the songs not being good enough. The Real People were very badly managed and cursed with bad luck. It's a crying shame this band never had the huge success they deserved. Down to earth guys unlike the pretentious Liam Gallagher or Ian Brown. Their unreleased, Marshmellow Lane, album is as good as any album during the Brit Pop era. Liam Gallagher based his singing style on lead singer Tony and they were heavily involved in the music on Definitely Maybe. The Real People are without doubt one of the most underrated bands around.
Steve I think there is some truth in what you say. Oasis were lucky in the crossover appeal they had. But more than that it was timing. Very few of the baggy bands made it past the era. Oasis came at that time when everyone was sick of rave and wanted rock n roll again
When I saw them live they opened with this. It's game over really after that ......amazing band. They still belong to us which makes them even more special.
Still goin strong these lads seen them a few times around bootle in the 90s got better & better, wots on the outside.. Well better than morning glory 😮😮😮
@@jakezywek6852 Their style was still Madchester. Early Blur songs were also Madchester inspired although they're from London but in 1992 Britpop took over and Madchester was dead.
@@PatoNani18 it was going on outside manchester, it's just just that tony wilson brought out that "madchester" record, it was just the rave scene influencing the bands of the time, it doesn't belong to manchester it was a wider shift in music that was influenced more by house music that came out of chicago and funk in general that peaked in the late 80s early 90s
In the least patronizing way possible. I feel sorry for the Realies. How ahead do you have to be?...how many great songs do you have to write? They didnt hit the heights they might have. Hope theyre happy tho. Delivered great pop moment after great pop moment. Influenced a shit ton of good bands.
Another real gem of a band along with the stairs & many other overlooked underrated bands from the cusp of the 80s into the 90s with the La's stamped on them. Marvelous Mavers ✌️❤️🎶 Check out some of my playlists for long forgotten gems and modern overlooked bands like Neon Waltz
Oasis's secret weapon for sound and recording skills as noel is good friends with them and was going over to their studio in Liverpool in the late 90's early 00's
The realies worked with oasis on definitely maybe and helped them record the album and co-wrote a fair few of the songs off that album so the comparison is well founded my man!
Think Oasis much much more rockish, this is baggy band. I respect em both equally and know well they're associated with each other but Oasis distanced themselves from this sound when the likes of Rock and Roll Star and Supersonic were made.
Am i the only one to have the impression that this videoclip seems like a mix between the wonderwall and champagne supernova music clips by oasis? oasis are famously ripped them off and TRP helped them in many ways.
The chords for this are exactly the same and same rhythm as Aquiesce. No doubt Noel stole them from this song as well as the rest he ripped of The Real People
Bandaza de Liverpool y son los que realmente influyeron al éxito de Oasis. The Real People es espectacular ❤️✌🏻😎
Awesome band! One of my favorite albums ever!
How could everyone miss this band?

stone roses are the most overrated band ever seriously, ian brown sings like a mong and we all know liam took his vocal style from chris griffo
Absolutely agree with you Mark
When I saw them live they opened with this. It's game over really after that ......amazing band. They still belong to us which makes them even more special.
Great song off a fantastic album… what a sound
Still goin strong these lads seen them a few times around bootle in the 90s got better & better, wots on the outside.. Well better than morning glory 😮😮😮
Still sounds amazing today....brilliant tune from a brilliant band !!
Top band went o see them loads of times, talked to lads after their gigs, always good to chat to, Top Band - Top lads .
Oasis weren't fucking SHIT without these boys
Catchy, cool tune.
stills has a magic... I met the lads in India pre the first album coming out.
I like this song since 1991. A forgotten gem.
There we were, now here we are
Been about 20 years since I heard this. Still love it 😎
Already There 💝
One of the madchester's scene most precious gems of all time. I was born in 1991. I know y'all were wondering.
They were from Liverpool
@@jakezywek6852 thank you baby, I'm from Spain.

btw britpop didn't exist in 92 it wasn't till the press coined it in 96 at least, it just shows your a revisionist who hasn't got a clue
I LOOOOOOOOOVE THIS SOOOOOOOONG...

No Real People no Oasis.....fact
Love it ~ Cool 😎
Realllieees
Boss scouse band so underrated
Wow!
Unbelievable band and album. Oasis took these guys out on tour. Just some of the best pop ever delivered from the 90’s
NG did a lot more taking too. They wouldn't have had a career if it wasn't for the Realies.
Oasis took this band to the cleaners more like...ripped them off, stole the songs you mean
The Real People is a cool band but the fact that NG took a couple of verses from them doesn't own their success to them.
I damn well miss the early 90s
was just thinking the same man.. Shrooms?
Top Scousers.

Oasis's secret weapon for sound and recording skills as noel is good friends with them and was going over to their studio in Liverpool in the late 90's early 00's
Yeah secret weapon deffo
Friends no more Gallagher didnt wanna kno after he got what he robbed there sound..
They may even been their ghost songwriters, it would explain why they never sued Noel...
They did sue. Watch episode 33 of the oasis podcast it has Chris Griffiths on it he talks about what happened between them.
He plagiarised them
👍👍👍
I wonder we're Oasis got there style from?
Did someone just put lyrics on a Spyro 2 song ?
Anyone here groovy train? Geron geron geron that groovy train
brill known the brothers for a long time now
IF YOU BELIEVE THAT THEY WONT UNDERSTAND
Why is bez dancing with the stone roses, and why are they singing oasis songs, can somebody fukin explain?🤔
I reckon Oasis got their sound from this band. This could be Oasis but it's three years before them.
The realies worked with oasis on definitely maybe and helped them record the album and co-wrote a fair few of the songs off that album so the comparison is well founded my man!
