    FYI, had some asking about heavier payloads on this gimbal and so did a few more tests since this was recorded... Used a Moment Tele lens no problem at all and then put a Beastgrip Pro with a 1.55x anamorphic (a heavy lens) and had to use counterweights - and it worked well too. Probably pushing the size limit more than the weight limit, but it held it up no problem. There's a short video and photo posted on my Twitter page if you'd like to see it twitter.com/iFilmmakers. Definitely a solid gimbal!

      Never heard of a “cheaper sourced” version of a new gimbal. Sounds like a counterfeit especially as it was missing features. Would definitely get money back from Amazon on something like that. Moza is a reputable company and make lots of different gimbals for lots of different cameras, and thus far we’ve had mainly positive experiences with them.

      Interested in this especially considering the magnet and size issues with my new iphone 12 pro and DJI OM 4. I noticed in your video, the phone seemed crooked and hanging left a little. Was it just the camera angle? Hoping you can get a straight horizon with this setup. Also, how did you add the counterweights? Is there a screw hole for them? Do you need the counterweights if just using a moment case and lens (anamorphic or wide)? Thanks for the great review!

    • @iphoneographers
      @iphoneographers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Used universal counterweights from Ulanzi that clip onto the side. Worked well. Can’t remember regarding horizon, but sometimes have had that happen with gimbals where the roll axis is off, but easily adjusted back level if so. Thanks for watching!

    Nice review. I also experienced the image shaking that you mention in my 11 Pro the other day. I was in telephoto mode at the time and I was shooting handheld without a gimbal. I believe the glitch is related to the phone's optical stabilization and the fact that it doesn't occur for you in ultra wide mode would seem to confirm this since the UW lens is not optically stabilized.

    I felt a lot of excitement from you reviewing this gimbal. I always watch your videos for my quest to find my perfect gimbal. So many gimbals in the market, I always get confused which one to get. I used to use iPhone X with Zhiyun Smooth Q, but I get Jitters and bumpy footages which bugs me out. I recently switched back using the old iPhone SE paired with Zhiyun Smooth Q and surprised to see footage are less bumpy and jitterly. OIS does play a big factor so old iPhone SE provides better stabilization paired with gimbal, but in 2020 the old iPhone SE has trouble keeping up with the software and it over heats and drains the battery so fast. I am so tempted with this gimbal and always have fun watching your reviews and tutorials. Thank You!

    thank you for publishing this: specifically about adding a moment lens on a phone. I have an old gimbal and it can't hold the moment lens. i have rigged some magnets for balance, but I don't like having to jerry-rig my equipment.

  • @MIRAJADESIGN
    @MIRAJADESIGN 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I purchased one of these mainly for my Canon M50. I thought it would be great because I could use it with my iPhone too. I balanced it just fine using the lightweight kit lens. I calibrated and confirmed the balance with the mobile app. But it just kept vibrating if I did any movements that were not completely vertical. I tried rebalancing multiple times. I tried updating the firmware but I just couldn’t get it to work without vibrating. Maybe I got a lemon or maybe it’s not that great for mirrorless cameras as they advertise. Either way, I am disappointed in the gimble and will be returning it to Amazon.

    This, and even the G6 Max don’t have support built-in to Filmic Pro. Until that changes I’m sticking with the Zhuyin Smooth 4.
    I think when the Filmic devs are impressed enough with another gimbal to add hardware support for it in their app, I’ll look at that gimbal.

    • @iphoneographers
      @iphoneographers  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most of the time it has to do with the company and their SDK. Filmic can implement it if there is demand. Although there are so many gimbals it's hard to keep up!

    Is there anywhere I can get a third party L-Bracket for this? I bought this secondhand but it didn't come with the L-Bracket, and the slot on the gimbal itself isn't a standard Arca Swiss mount so I can't just get any normal L-Bracket I see online.

    • @iphoneographers
      @iphoneographers  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The weight will be no problem. But you might run into issues with it being top heavy when adding the lens + ND, so you could need a counterweight. Just as an option you might also look at the G6 Max or the DJI Ronin SC as their motors are a bit stronger. But in many cases the Moza will be fine.

    • @deliafranco
      @deliafranco 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Use code SUDHAM to get the mozo-p for $159 direct from Moza. That makes it $60 less than the G6 Max, which is on sale right now for $215 direct from Feiyutech. There is also Amazon sale for $200 but it's from a third party supplier and may not be trusted. Hope this helps you make your decision. I'm dealing with the same dilemma right now. I'm leaning toward the moza due to price and similar performance. The G6 Max may have a slightly better build quality but the mounting plate and motor locking adjustments seemed more difficult to use. There's another reviewer that shows a workaround using cheese plates and ulanzi mount to help ease balancing top heavy phones. My thought process is, technology is going to get outdated real quick so might as well go for the cheaper one.

    Thanks for your awesome review! I'm very interested in this gimbal for an iPhone 13 Pro Max and GoPro Hero10. I'm not sure what you meant when you stated that you got several bumps while moving around. Did the iPhone move looselly or did it bumps something on the gimbal? Also, can an extension arm be mounted on the gimbals arm for better distance between a person and camera for vlogging? Thanks again.... Great job. 😊👍

    • @iphoneographers
      @iphoneographers  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it was just a few bumps that I stabilized in post that the gimbal had trouble with, likely because of it not being perfectly balanced. Overall it’s very solid. The Moza is a typical Chinese junk product. I tried to use it with a
    phone and a small point and shoot camera and it often gets twisted up.
    When I go for low shots, it jams and vibrates. It's not really that
    smooth and jerks a little going side to side, and really cumbersome to
    disassemble. I just put it in a towel in my backpack instead of the
    case. Overall, stay away from the Moza Mini P.

      Sounds like you might’ve gotten a lemon. Opposite experience here and have seen mainly positive reviews. Sorry to hear.

      @@iphoneographers Yea, lemon products and they are holding my money hostage. I sent the product back weeks ago and still no refund.

    The downside of that Company is their customer support service, the Moza Genie apps has BUGS it cannot connect to Bluetooth after it's update. Many are affected from Android to iOs users. I am beginning to dislike the product.👎👎👎

      Ha, no. Just a bit odd to have a plastic handle mixed with metal motor mounts, etc. BUT it definitely made it lightweight worked well together!
