Totally awesome ❤
I worked with a dude who had this on cassette. Classic stuff. Glad I found it
That means a very good cassette 😉
Probably time flew by at work!😎
I don't know why the algorythm is giving me ESTE TREMENDO MUSICOTE these last few weeks but KEEP IT COMING
I heard one of these really amazing songs on Fm 90.9, a Jazz station, coming home from work Wednesday night and when the DJ said their name,
The Funkees, I just had to look them up and discover MORE!!!
This full album will definitely ignite your sense of pride inside and these dope ass rhythms will open up your passion for discovering creativity that you have never heard... I wish I was in the studio when they recorded anything!!! -Rob Approved!!
Greeting from Somalia. Wwwww this is the real music
Big up and blessing from Réunion island Indian ocean 💚 💛 ❤️.
This is next level
Found this band on You Tube while looking for music and found this band decided to play and was amazed how great they sound ....I dig this band new favorite sound to listen too
Wow! YT recommended now I’m dancing 💃🏻 around the kitchen 🥳
thanks ô mighty youtube algorithm for always giving me amazing things to hear!
Glad i found this❤
Love it! ♥ Great compilation of this Eastern Nigerian troupe, whose live qualities were legendary. Not infrequently, they played all night long, seven days a week .. ♬💃.
Later, "The Funkees" moved to London, where they quickly made a name for themselves with their performances ♫💃🎸♬💃♥
There they recorded two groundbreaking albums before splitting up in 1977. 🌻✌😎
thanx for that lil history.....1st time hearing this

Lots of likkle stories in the slightly dusty treasure chest of my memories...
Look at my name! 😊✌🏻🌻😎
Love ❤ Thank you for sharing !!!
Great sound never heard of them before. Reminds me of Fela and Peacks band all in one. Many many thanks for the education.

Yooo wtf TH-cam recommending me good stuff again, how come?
Abraka total banger!!!!!
crazy how futuristic this is
Let's hope this points toward the future of music
La primera canción es una verdadera locura... Lokos esos panas ❤... Hay Funk, Rock, Cumbia, Jazz, Cubano, Africano... Del Este de Nigeria dice la carátula... Eran virtuosos músicos 🏝️🌈🌿 The Funkees... La segunda canción Akpankoro es muy muy compleja ...😮
Por curiosidad en el título, di play en la canción 7 de la lista... Acid Rock... "No way!" fue lo que me dije.. Yes Buey! Recibí por respuesta de estos sorprendentes músicos (ritmo, el solo de órgano, guitarra eléctrica)... No cesan las sorpresas: la canción siguiente (la 8) es también brutal... Para que más... Es una fusión brutal como pocas he escuchado
This debut album is hot 😊
Excellent!
That's amazing ❤
Fantastic!!!!
John wick sequel "The continental" movie series introduced me to these wonderful band through their soundtracks.
Spectacular

Akula action Bronson let it rain👌
Wow, Yo
Damn, this is good.
What fun…😁😁😁😁😁
Wow, so good! I'd been resisting the algorithm cuz this kept popping up, but it happened to come on automatically after Fela... this is great! It's not like Afrobeat, reminds me of some Ethopian stuff from that era, but still has it's own unique character.
Hank Shocklee sent me here..
it's so great....HONEY
Break Through is the source for Kendrick Lamar's Worldwide Steppers beat.

Dope. The perfect barbecue album.✊🏾

28:47 A Banger
Damn, this fucking rips!
kinda reminds me of the meters
Hi. Search for "Geraldo Pino".
Another pearl...
Sounds like a mixture of Ebo Taylor and Fela Kuti
" Shaken, not Stirred...."
Fire!!! Mind boggling to me tho, that all these new age rappers, make millions off of these OG beats/sounds….not because they are really hipped to this music, it’s only because they are under some producer that’s probably from the era of time when the real funk originated. It will never be made again. Anywho, that’s my rant for the day. Salute to the artists and to you good people 🫡🫡
The more you listen to the OG music, the more you realize how unoriginal a lot of these new artists are. 😂
Brun these dudes are not original themselves smh

Great stuff! I used to play in a Berkeley CA band called Funky Nixons - people referred to the band as "the Funkys"
303 is definitely another song... But what is it? I keep rewinding to the beginning of 303 and I can hear the other song. It's almost exactly the same. The lead instruments are the melody of the lyrics in the other song. Can anyone help??
2:41 he sing por Puerto Rico ?🇵🇷😮???
💫🔱🦋🪬🦋🔱💫
They sang in Igbo language and Yoruba language.
:) :) :)
13:20 I. Texax sun !?
A common chord progression.
What's the difference with Western Nigeria's Afro Rock?
Anyone know what language they're singing in?
Я очен серезнии слушатьел но если арош то арош
