I don’t plan on entering into Seminary, at least not at this time. However, this is a great suggestion because my intent is to work my way up in a self-taught mode to the level of knowledge and experience one finds at the doctoral level. Granted, Im many leagues distanced at present. This book ought to get me dancing with some stability in my gait ide imagine.
Just keep reading my friend. If you get the opportunity to audit any free lectures then try them out, other than that just be open to opportunities and don't forget to stand on the shoulders of giants! Bless you!
Thanks pastor. I have the second and third editions of these books. They’re great! A NT intro that got me really engaged in the NT was Luke Timothy Johnson’s The Writings of the New Testament. I still use it in preaching sermons along with Eugene Boring’s NT introduction. SPCK and IVP USA also put Old Testament counterparts to the Exploring the New Testament volumes. I’ve found these really helpful too.
@@crusaderboy1976 Thanks for those tips! Johnson is a hard hitter who can always be depended on. Boring is one of the least boring men I have come across (!!). Thanks for contributing and God bless you!
These were the biblical studies textbooks at my Bible school. A good first step in, I do agree. Would be good for studying on your own, with the included questions
