I hope the Kids remember these (Good Ole Days). These parents are doing a GREAT job. 👍
.
I am loving how the dog is supervising the whole event.
What an amazing haul of apples. I love seeing kids helping.
Ahhaaa this reminds me of my childhood… it made me cry… I miss my mom and dad…
We ne er used coolers… we just used boxes… and we would stack hay and make a special room in the hay and store our apples in there..
We had a lot of barn cats… to keep the critters out….
Love your videos…
I am praying that all of I are right with Jesus… May God bless u and keep u and shine his face upon u!
I'm getting tears in my eyes reading your comment. It sounds like you had a wonderful upbringing on the farm! God Bless You.

Hello wompol
Such a sweet, wonderful family! Absolutely love them and I am learning so much from them. May God continue to bless them ♥️
Such a precious lil family ♥️Love the family teamwork ♥️💞🍃🏡💞♥️
Finally a nice video about your family. Thank you. It so lovely. ❤
Hi Caroline, You guys do a great job and I am very proud of you. I am going to pass a bit of information to you. I noticed that you all pulled the stem (blossom stem that is attached to apple). If you can avoid this in the future try to leave that blossom stem attached to the tree when picking the apples. You see the stem end is where you will get future blossoms (apples), when you break those you will no longer get new apples there any longer. Break enough stem ends off the tree will cause the tree to be unfruitful. I learned this at least 40 years ago and I have a caniption fit if I catch someone breaking the stem ends off my trees. Oh by the way what a beautiful crop of apples. Jessie from Arkansas
Many hands make light work. Excellent crew helping you out.
Loved seeing your kids in the video. They've gotten so big!
Hello brid
Those are such a beautiful apples! They look like a St. Nikolaus (Dec 6th) apples here in Germany. Kids are getting those with a chocolate Nicolaus, some nuts and clementines in their boots for beeing good the whole year! I think all these little helping hands of yours would be glad to get something like this! 😊🫶❤️
Wow thank you so much. There’s tons of apples here and I love them. I’ve canned a whole lot but didn’t know how to keep them fresh to just eat. Thank you!
My new fav channel!
I crave apples in the winter.. this would be awsome
Although I don't have an apple haul....it was good to learn how to store apples either one or several. Thank you for sharing!🥰
Hello there
How are you doing today?
Layers of newspaper help absorb and moisture to keep the apples longer.
Love the bare toes in the grass!
Such a beautiful family! God bless you!
We’ve been buying ACV from an organic farmer who sells the sediment liquid of their ACV for livestock instead of bottling it for people on the shelves. We put this in our animal’s water troughs for healthy digestive systems. This helps with parasite prevention as they love to thrive in unhealthy digestive systems. It alone is not a dewormer, but it helps the process of deworming if that makes sense. Still need to have deworming protocol though. Anyways, I realized we are wasting money on this because of apples trees we have. Next year I want to price out what it would cost to get these apples pressed by a local apiary who does that as well and I turn the cider into vinegar instead of buying it. It’s a long drive for us to the farmer.
Oh also with the raw apple cider I will ferment it in flip top bottles to create a sparkling cider! Idk if you have heard of that before. You literally just put the raw cider in a flip top bottle, cap it, burp it for a few days until you get a nice pop (it gets a bit alcoholic after 5 days) and then put in a cool place until ready to drink!
So pretty up there!
Beautiful apples. Fabulous tip! Thanks - Question - How do you deal with Codling Moth worms???
Slightly off topic: How do you treat your apples organically to keep the worms out? LOVE your channel and freeze drying ideas. I have one and I'm always looking for new ideas of what and how to FD.

Love ur life 🥰 thank u for sharing it with us 🙏❤️💫
Thank you for the video. I have a few questions.1. Do you spray your apples with any thing during the summer? They look soooo good. 2. what varieties of apples would you use for storage? I see you saved Red Delicious but do other varieties store as well?
Wow! Thank you for the wonderful tips. Also, I made a batch of your antiseptic cream that replaced Neosporin and it is amazing. Thank you for that recipe. I have several others I want to make that you had on your channel.
Wow what an amazing haul of apples. You have a wonderful premise
Nice looking apples
Thank you again for the video. Do you need to worry about rotating the apples due to weight on the bottom ones bruising them
Thanks so much! Apples are my fav fruit, can't wait to grow them!
Do you spray your apples? We have such a hard time getting nice apples with no spray-
Love this video. I am in Central NY State. Our winters can go as cold as -20. We have our apples in the cellar in 5 gallon food grade pails. Seems that one of the pails keeps getting condensation inside and we have a dehumidifier going. I check them often and circulate them as much as possible. Do you recommend the lids sealed on the pails or loose on top. Do you lock down the lids to the coolers?
Any tips for preventing Japanese Beetles or June Bugs from damaging your apple trees? We’ve had a few rough years.
I was told it's best to leave the stems on them also.
Hello Ginger
Thank you so much for everything you teach! 💝 do you have a video on potatoes that I am missing?
More on that here: homesteadingfamily.com/preservation-101-root-cellaring/
Great info,, thanks!
You should sell a line of quality tools!
Hi Caroline…. Just wondering do you guys spray your apples? They look so good! Our apples don’t get sprayed and get so many spots every year. So I can’t store them like this but I have been wanting to. Idk if there are apple varieties that are better for no spraying?
🍎 Do you open the drain spout at the bottom of the coolers when you store? Thank you and blessings!💗
Interested to know as well
How do you fertilize your fruit trees?
Wow that is a bunch of lovely heqalthy apples! I may have missed it but what;s happened with your root cellar build? Is it done?
The root cellar is a work in progress 😊
Hello wildevis
Could you do this with apples that were in a fridge? I want a new way to store my apples
You mentioned air circulation, so do you keep the lid on tightly? we have mice lol.
I was worried about the same thing. I wonder if you put hardware cloth on the inside by the drain hole and just left the drain hole open, if that would be enough to give adequate airflow and keep mice out.
I was wondering the same thing too about the mice. I'm kinda of greedy and want the apples for myself and not the mice 😊
What other apples other than red delicious can be used?
Hello Esther
Ok we up in canada I was wondering about the freezing Temps.. our garage is not insulated ..I will UT my apples in coolers in there..
Would this work with potatoes too? Both regular and sweet potatoes?
How many trees did you harvest for all those apples?
Hello Christina
Is that a good way to store potatoes as well?
I would think so as long as you made sure the cooler lid was cracked a bit to allow moisture to escape. I use a freezer that I don’t need and put my potatoes in that for the winter because our root cellar isn’t finished. I have used an upright freezer and a chest freezer. I duct tape canning rings to the freezer to prevent the door from closing, letting the moisture out. It’s the same premise as the coolers.
Do you get more juice from pressing or steaming?
Hello Emily
How are you doing today?
Hi, can you please make a TH-cam video about herbs that are good for our eyesight.
👍
How do you keep the bugs out of your apples? Mine get totally destroyed
Can you do the same for potatoes
Do the apples stay crisp?
Hello Christy
How are you doing today?
Yet you never PRUNE that Apple tree as you should. Now is the time. After the first couple freezes, after harvest. 😊
Awesome looking apples. We tried to grow them but never got anything that was edible; looked like they had pits, bumps and black soot all over.
With those many apples you did well. But if you keep the stem on the apple it will last longer.
What about rats eating them?
Anyone near the Cascades? I’m in north central wa and the environmental govt people have approved the reintroduction of Grizzly’s to the wild.. meaning right here in my backyard.. I have mixed feelings. How “successful” is this going to be ?
I guess my father in law’s bear-hunting MIGHT have served a purpose after all…
Acv is VERY BAD for your good bacteriea. So it's a No, No.
Where did you get your seeds, for the red delicious and is it a semi dwarf or regular size?
