Good stuff. On the "working for exposure" issue, I think there's a difference between being asked to contribute design/creative work where you name is just a footnote/small credit and speaking where your name is key part of the headline.
There could be, but I'm not sure. Years ago TED asked if we would run a coaching program for the TED Fellows. We were certainly a footnote, but the credibility we gained from being involved at thatlevel was invaluable. Also, sometimes just being able to add the right client's logo to your client list can be the difference between winning and losing a key pitch. It's up to you to how you use the exposure to your own advantage.
