Love Your Races, Would Love To See The Cars Before The Race Starts and Winning Car At The End!!! Wish I Was There and Happy Holidays and New Year's 2020 of More Great Racing!!!
Interesting way to handle crashed cars. I don't believe I've ever seen it done like that before. What are the main reasons and advantages to doing like that as opposed to just having all cars stop where they are?
Greg Gaub we like to race with no stopping because we want to emulate real racing. In real racing if you crash you might lose your position or someone might gain ground on you. A better way to emulate real racing is having Marshalls but if you don’t have enough people this is a alternative. The other reason is because when you pause the track a car can cross the finish line and lap won’t count. If you don’t pay attention y’all never know. So this way if everyone goes in the pit before you pause the track you know everyone’s lap was counted. And the final reason is the program we use simulates damage and makes the car that crash go in to the pit to get repair. This way just adds a different and fun dynamic.
@@Firststateracingclub Interesting. The only problem I saw was that almost every call to go into the pit was followed immediately by some cars, while others were able to complete an additional lap because they were either too far around, or didn't realize they needed to corral to the pit lane until they were already going around again. This, of course, would be advantageous to them. I'm not saying they did it on purpose, but it pretty much negates your main reason for doing it. I dislike full stop for crashes as well, if only because it often extends what would be a 10 minute race to 30 or more. Like any slot racer, I do enjoy a race that goes from start to finish without a lot of pauses. But, we also like to try new things from time to time. I'll mention this to the guys at our next race and see what they think. :) Coasting across the line during a pause is common. The solution is to have a minimum lap time, or break out, such that if you're not sure your lap was counted, you put the car behind the line. When you begin again, the lap counting software should reject it if you had just gotten a lap (too low a lap time) or count if it your previous crossing was missed. I'm not sure what software you're using, but that's something to look into, or ask the developer to implement. I'm pretty sure Bruce's software has that feature, but I don't know about SmartRace or other Carrera apps.
Greg Gaub you don’t see it in the video but the race program I use allows me to take off the extra lap that people get due to being past the pit or passing it by accident

I love this setup and layout so much! Going to build one very similar this year once supplies are finally back in stock at stores.
Thanks
How do you race more then 4 1/24 scale cars
Tolles Rennen! Sehr schöne Rennstrecke! Macht richtig Spaß euch zuzuschauen!
It would be great to post the layout design in each video. I like all of them! Best regards
Quiero una de esas !!!!!!
Nice track! Where are you located?

Dang, that looks fun! That's an amazing layout. Who won the race?
landsurfer66 just testing no winner this race
How’d you guys get the cars to stay on the track so we’ll. Of course trigger control. Did you upgrade magnets and tires as well?
Tonyw2394 no magnets we use lead weight and silicone tires
Hi, I like very much! Can you please tell me the circuit measurements? Thank you!
Quim Carranza tracks sizes vary my track size is 16’x7.25’
what kind of power supply do you recommend for someone that wants to build a track like yours?
Levon Wells 20volts and 10amps
Ok thanks
I think the track requires a few more change overs. By the way pitting the cars when an accident occurs leads to fair racing.
Konrad Yearwood naw people need to slow down when going in the pit
Buen circuito
How much for a track like this?
BRICKS my I easily spent between 750 -1000.
talonk24 I figured that sadly. Was thinking about starting out with that Carrera digital wireless set for $450
What size is the track and table
BRICKS my track size is 16’x7.25’
