On The Graham Norton Show, she told that story, and added that the guy had to have four stitches in his tongue, and could only eat soup. That is assault. An actor needs his or her tongue to speak on stage. If dhe had a mouth infection, and his tongue swelled up, and he couldn't work for a week or so, he could take her to Court for loss of earnings. Even if Alex was pissed off, that's a very cheap thing to do, and it is beneath her.

If you pierce somebody's tongue, that is assault, just like somebody punching you in the face.
