    Thank you for the update, I already own shares of PALANTIR, TSLA, NVDA and APPL. I don't mind having other equities sit around for a while, but I'd also appreciate short term opportunities that could fetch huge return! I've got a $200k portfolio that I want to grow into 7 figure before staying 100% cash.

      no one knows when the market is going to hit its peak, nor do we know when it is going to bottom out, but ideally, it is best to consult a well knowledgeable advisor both for short and long term investing

      True, a lot of folks downplay the role of advisors until being burnt by their own emotions. I remember couple summers back, after my lengthy divorce, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat, hence I researched for licensed advisors and came across someone of utmost qualifications. She's helped grow my reserve notwithstanding inflation, from $550k to nearly a million as of today

    Hi! My simple funda is, if the popular opinion ( from Financial News Channels) is that the market should correct, it won't! I have come to understand, painfully though, that the Market is not here to oblige us to make money, rather the opposite! If one understands this, there is no confusion! Just my two boys from my humble learning! 😢

      By the way, every single financial news channel is bought out and hell-bent to bias your common sense. Money magic working there. I've stopped listening to those for years now. They don't give you tips,they give you advertisement. Usually we overanalyze the markets and we feel good about it because we've spent a long time analysing it. It's human psychology. You want your maths to be right. But there's too much randomness in the market to appease your own thoughts. You're just a drop in the ocean. And the fact that you're learning constantly and trying to get the most of what is common sense, is a clear indication that you have already done superb financially in the markets, or will do so in the very near future. Fingers crossed for you! 😊

    Alok Sir, I believe that every humble investor is a leader in the market. Your opinion matters. The very thought that we need to follow the markets is flawed, because we define the market ourselves, however tiny a drop in the ocean we might be. It should be led by common sense, technical analysis with our own tools and metrics, that is very individual in nature. We all just make an educated guess, nothing else. There are bo right or wrong answers. And that's the beauty of it. In the current scenario, where the markets are choppy and every portfolio (including momentum ones) that is not index-based, is taking a hit and sectors are rotating all around with no stability, it is a clear sign that people are playing the defensive game with large caps. The steam is bound to run out soon, as the liquidity can't be absorbed anymore by these over-valued large caps anyway, leading to a crash that'll again make headlines and unnecessary panic. Money will rotate to financially healthy companies, large, mid, or small cap, doesn't matter. And the index, now, I think is measuring the market sentiment wrongly, giving a false confidence, due to confidence only in large caps and index based funds, leading to their increase. We're going through that phase of the market where momentum is out (unless you have a very high churn rate) and value is in. And patience will bear fruit to all value-and-momentum combined investors in the near future.

      @@Sayan-IshaanMarkets are very choppy these days, unless you invest in plain-Jane Nifty large caps. People are moving towards safer stocks and index investing. This fad should run out of steam soon, according to my personal calculations. Tread carefully, do a bit of value investing, a bit of momentum. Stay afloat until the next bull run where you can blind guess stocks. For good companies with healthy financials, buy the dip, near your support lines. They have historically shown to perform anyway. Patience is the key. Allocation diversity, always good. Nothing new there. 😊

      @@dingdongman1Sir, does it make sense to invest in index funds at this level.

    • @dingdongman1
      @dingdongman1 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@vargheseb8602 Disclaimer: I'm not a financial advisor. I try to read the markets to the best of my abilities, and manage my few crores myself. So, read the following with utter caution!
      Yes, if you are a new investor waiting to put in new money, I would invest in index funds right now. Because I wouldn't have much experience and just wouldn't want to have a rocky start.
      No, if I have substantial money in equities already. The way the sectors are rotating every day or week is maddening. My churn rate to chase the instant momentum would be too high, resulting in very high transaction costs, hence, I would jump from one loss to another most likely. So, I would stay put, incur some interim losses, see where the money in definitely flowing (market-cap-wise and sector-wise) and then join the joyride (the next wave). Of course, my tolerance limit would be reflected in my stop-losses.
      Hope this helps. 😊
