    You explanations are clear and concise. I have just purchased a FZ80 and am enjoying the process of learning how to use it here in Sydney Australia.

      Thanks for watching. Enjoy your FZ80, it's a great camera especially if you have great light. I think it's fair to say that you probably have more chance of that in Australia than we do hear in grey and wet Britain.

    A really interesting and informative video. I started with a panasonic bridge camera. The first video I did the Tornado one was filmed on that. Thanks

    Hello Andrew (from another Andrew). With this camera can I set a longer exposure time around half to 1sec, and take the photo every ~5seconds (say) so that clouds move, but birds don’t create flickery artifacts?

    • @AndrewWaltonPhotography
      @AndrewWaltonPhotography  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello other Andrew 😄. That is a good question. I didn't know the answer but I do now. Yes it is possible, I've just set the shutter speed to one second (set in Shutter Priority mode or Manual mode first) and then set up your time lapse as in this video and it does keep the preselected shutter speed during the time lapse. In bright daylight you may have to use an ND filter to cope with the longer exposures but it is possible. Every day is an education as they say.

    Hi, I am going through your videos and this is really interesting. I think I am getting clear what to do, but I have a doubt. If I wanna make a street movement time lapse I set all acording to how long the final video would be. That is ok. But lets say I want to make (as you mentioned in this video) the sunrise... These event I dont know how long it last since I set the begining time. What should I do there? Go to the max aumount of pictures than can be taken? (that is 9999) Thanks in advance. Greetings from Uruguay.

    • @AndrewWaltonPhotography
      @AndrewWaltonPhotography  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Diego, I would look at the time of a sunrise at your location then ideally start filming around 30 minutes before sunrise. If the weather is looking to be quite calm and little cloud movement then you can probably get away with one image every 10 seconds. If it is windy then I find one image every 3 seconds. You will have to calculate the number of images needed and ideally you need to continue past the sunrise.

    Why didn’t you give directions on the time and how to set that? Because that’s the one I’m having trouble with

    • @AndrewWaltonPhotography
      @AndrewWaltonPhotography  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching the video. Is it the pre-set start time you are having trouble with? If so select Start Time in the Time Lapse Menu. Then select Start Time Set. Enter the time you want the timelapse start, it's in the 24hr clock so for example 5:52 would be 5:52 am, once you are happy with the time press SET. The rest of the setting such as shooting interval and image count are the same then when you are done the camera asks you to press the shutter, now it is set to take the images . Double check that the clock on the camera is set to the correct time and the battery is fully charged. I hope this helps.

    Thanks for the video 👍 Question - where in the menu do you find the "create the video" if you don't create it right after the time lapse has completed?

    • @AndrewWaltonPhotography
      @AndrewWaltonPhotography  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi, if you go to play button in the menu (green icon at the bottom), on page three of that menu. At the top it says Time Lapse Video. Select that button. It will call up any set of images you have taken in time lapse mode. Hit the SET button, and if you are happy with the quality and frame rate, etc. Hit OK. The camera will then create your time-lapse video.

      @@AndrewWaltonPhotography Andrew, one more question. If the battery dies and the recording stops, the camera shuts off, will the images still be available to create a video? I’m pre-planning an eclipse time lapse. (Shadows) Thanks…Dan

    • @AndrewWaltonPhotography
      @AndrewWaltonPhotography  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @SkunkWorks2001 I think it should have written the images to the SD card so you will still have the individual files up to the point of the battery failure.

    great video. i'm looking for instructions on how to create afterwords. the menu is hard to find. i did a sunrise and after returning from the bathroom, the camera had went to sleep and i didn't have the option to create video now.

    • @AndrewWaltonPhotography
      @AndrewWaltonPhotography  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mark, the menu you need to select is the bottom one (play menu with the green play button icon), got to page 3 of the menu and you should see Time lapse Video at the top of that page. Select that and it should tell you how many shots you have along with one of your photos. Press the SET button on the bottom right corner and this will bring you to another menu where you can set up frame rate, quality and sequence - once you are happy with that press OK and it should assemble your time lapse for you. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

    • @AndrewWaltonPhotography
      @AndrewWaltonPhotography  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Pasquale, how many frames per second are you creating the video at. If you are setting the video at 25 frames per second then it will run for longer that if you have it set to 60 frames per second. For example, 100 images at 25fps will run for 4 seconds but the same 100 images at 60fps would be less than 2 seconds. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching.

    • @AndrewWaltonPhotography
      @AndrewWaltonPhotography  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Nice video. Could you tell me what tripod are you using?

    • @AndrewWaltonPhotography
      @AndrewWaltonPhotography  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Alex, the tripod in the video is an Amazon Basics tripod but I wouldn't recommend it as it isn't very stable outdoors if there is and wind. During the filming of this video it did blow over whilst recording the time lapse. Luckily I was able to catch the camera before it hit the ground.

      @@Alex-xe4uc I'd go for a model with a ball head and legs that can be altered independently. on the Amazon model the legs are all fastened together which is quite restrictive. I was recently gifted at Christmas an ESDDI TP-40 tripod which I'm quite impressed with. This I believe was also purchased via Amazon.
