I don’t think this is going to start an arc, per se. It’s just exploring Meggy trying to overcome what happened in the Anime Arc. Though I do think the next Splatfest (Which won’t be until next year, most likely) will have an arc revolving around it. I can see Mario screwing things up again and angering Meggy, like in If Mario Was In... Splatoon 2 or Meggy’s Bootcamp, only requiring multiple episodes to reconcile with her this time.
They meant the wahluigi arc and when they started the anime arc I think

I don't think this is an arc.
But what I'm afraid of is once Meggy becomes the Splatfest Champion, what could they do with her after that? The only possible choice they'd have after that is put her in the same grave as Desti and kill her off. At least it'd partially be a happy ending because she managed to win Splatfest, and coincidentally the final one in both Splatoon and her life.
