Thanks for your comment, yes using a battery as a backup would be the 100% correct install, I personally didn’t want to spend any more money on the job as I didn’t have a battery lying around at home.
That's a great install. One Issue I've heard of when not using on a battery, is that if the mains power fails, the heater obviously will not perform the shutdown sequence ie running the fan full power (after the flame is shut down) to cool the heat exchanger, some have had this occur and the fan and control board are damaged by the residual heat. I was thinking of running in parallel with a battery?
