- It's the NUMBER 1 question I get asked: Kaela, how are you so consistent with reading the Bible?
In 2017 I committed to reading the Bible daily. And when I say "committed" I meant it for real that time. I made some very simple shifts in my mind and in my lifestyle that got me to be consistent and stay consistent with reading the Bible.
I'm sharing 4 of the simple strategies with you. And when I say simple, I mean simple!
As a former elite athlete, personal trainer, and fitness professional, I literally TRAINED MYSELF to read the Bible consistently and now, more than seven years later, my relationship with God is on a level I never knew existed, and still growing from here!

I needed this. God knew to add this to my suggestions page on TH-cam. The biggest takeaway was the spending time “about” God not “with” God. Wow!! I am soooooo guilty of this!! I watch so many sermons, read so many Bible-related books, do so many Bible studies BUT i never SPEND time with God. I have always felt I could not understand the Word without guidance. But I know that is a lie of Satan. Thank you sister and God bless you! I will be consistent with the Bible. 🙂❤️😁

After 42 years of being a Christian, now only in 2024 have I started reading the Bible consistently. More than one chapter a day because I believe we are going to meet Jesus in the sky very soon and there is not much time left. Doing it for a deeper understanding of who God is, and because I want to have a more authentic relationship with him.

I have just began to read more consistently also after being a Christian for over 20 years. After back sliding in the first 3 years of my walk, it has taken foreeever to get back to what I know to do! But TGBTG!!!
I just turned 52. (Was saved as a little child.)
ADHD, etc, makes consistency hard. But honestly, I just have a family and stuff that keeps me busy.
.. And idols... This year I have been really trying harder to stick with it. I want God to be my First Love again.

Thank you for these pointers. I started reading the Bible in 2023 & would have completed reading the whole Bible in December 2024 . I had major surgery in May this year . Then I learned that I can continue where l let off. God is not like man. He is consistent in loving & desiring a relationship with me therefore I continue reading the Bible. Thank you.

Me, too. I read the entire book, then go back to chapter 1 and follow up with a commentary reading. Always pray when you read the Bible. I love the interactions between the Lord and men, women and children. Faithful is He Full of love and grace.

I love how you say relationship is not Monday through Friday. I've been saved for 44 years and this is my first time reading the entire bible in a year. I'm not as consistent as I would like to be and hope this helps. But I have noticed that I don't worry about things as much since reading the bible more often. So my perspective on things is changing for the good.

This was so encouraging. I've been a Believer over 40 years. I came to know Jesus when I was 8. I've had seasons of drawing close to God. It has been a rough year and I know my relationship with God has taken a back seat. I started this summer with a Holy Girl Walk memorizing Psalm 91. I am doing a study before my walk. My prayer life is coming alive. My thirst for God's Word is returning. Also, you remind me a little bit of my Bible teacher friend who was so passionate about Jesus. She passed away a few years ago. I was really touched with the first point. About the third point, I will say reading the Bible in bed from my phone and making notes in the Bible App was the time I was most consistent. When I started getting up to sit by a desk with a physical Bible and notebook, I dropped off after a few weeks.

Woke up in the wee hours this morning. Never heard of you didn't know anything about you... but God's timing is perfect! I listened and took my notes. I've been trying to have a relationship, and it seems for a couple of weeks us good even my g.kids respond differently to me. This wrench gets thrown in and messes me all up( stress). I know God blesses me to kerp it up and encourages me.then, after a week of terrible sadness, I cry out to Him.HE lifts me out of them. My daughter told me a couple of years ago. Mom, you're not consistent, but you are definitely persistent. My desire is to be both! Thank you, my newfound friend and sister in the Lord. You take what pastors, etc, complicate and make it simple yet powerful. Thank you !

Unlearning generational practices that weren’t reflective in walks of life I’ve seen to now at 36 found God again August 2023 now April 2024 rededicating my life to Christ happy to have found this platform and resources for more clarity. I read it! I cry. All the way. I feel the issues at hand. I see a vision . Of their life. I dream of it. I can’t handle some of it. I tell him so. One day a friend asked me a question. The anointing n power of God came over me. I became the person, and my body went thru a complete … of the truth …. Of the person of question in the Bible. I still today day I can feel the situation. It’s real. Just read the Bible of Jesus. Learn about him. Be forgiven. Set free. Healed . You will know him thru prayer.., hs will train you . Ref. To scrip. Dreams. Visions.!

Thank you so much. My major source of distraction is watching christian movies always on my phone. Even when I heard and knew that the Holy Spirit was telling me to stop it. Now,he doesn't check me again but I knew I did eyed then. In the course of trying to spend time with God by reading His words,I came across your channel. Thank you so much. I will follow your suggestions prayerfully and I hope to see results. I don't understand why reading the bible is so difficult yet it's easy to spend hours on phone, social media,etc.

The scripture you mentioned: Hebrews 4:12 KJV - "For the word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." Beautiful verse!

wow, only 3 minutes in ... maaaan, been in such a weird place spiritually, feeling stuck. But very similar to you, been studying and working at a seminary for the last 3 years and just now these last few months i've realized how much the word is not the foundation of a lot of things and just how much you can be involved in the things of God, desire the things of God, without God and His word. I like what you said about Him not being petty, hahah biggest hurdle right now is just the frustration in this realization/conviction and just shame it can bring. Been thinknig so much of the verse in Ecclesiastes.. Do not be overlywise or overly righteous, sense that its very close to this idea of relying on our own wisdom. Really appreciate the practical steps, needing to go back to the basics (as if we ever graduate ha). Thank you!!!

Its about 4am and i had been awake since 2am no sleep and am going through TH-cam and i bump into this video. I LOVE to journal! I start with Jesus Calling Devotional everyday because it gives me a boost because, I like to keep up with the dates on each page, to help keep me consistant. AND since I love to journal, I tend to write scriptures from the journal that I have looked up or any others that have stood out to me. Without the Holy Spirit and the Word of God, we cannot grow and expect to be transformed. Once transformation begins, it becomes exciting to come to the Lord everyday to see what He has to say to you. BUT don't forget that prayer is such a tremendously huge part of being transformed and such a sweet blessing, just communing with God. Many times in my prayer closet God speaks to my heart and I come out and start journaling again, what the Holy Spirit spoke to me. So Exciting, running on with God.💞

Please stop using the Jesus Calling devotional. It's very evil. Please watch the video from Doreen Virtue who came out of the New Age and gave her heart to Jesus Christ. She has a Master's degree in theology.
Amen! I read the Bible EVERY day. It changes yout life. It is a book that is different than any other! Each time you read the Bible God will speak to you even if it is one verse that blesses you. God loves you so much and wants to be with you and speak to you read the Bible and have fun doing it

Thank you for your great tips. This is my 40th anniversary as a Christian, but I have only read through the bible once, following some kind of reading plan, so I didn’t really read and learn but to fulfill the “schedule” by the rushing word by word before deadline. Now I’ll be more serious and to treasure it taking the time to rebuild the relationship with God. But the biggest challenge is whenever I have a quiet moment, my mind is already occupied by things to do next. I’m like a running engine that won’t stop.

I got reborn 6 years❤ been reading the Bible every day for 6 years❤ I read the King James, the old and the New testament you have to read both they go together, and I do prophecy, right now God is fulfilling old prophecies that back in the day, and he says this generation will finish it out so that's what's going on right now, but yeah I'm reading it every day with God's help ask him to help you to understand and comprehensive and he will he will help you to get through it that's how I'm doing it❤ I couldn't do it without the father I give him all the glory❤

That Lebron James analogy was PERFECT!! My story is much like yours. I was saved at 19, went full throttle, church multiple times a week, Bible college, ministry... I was all about Jesus. I spent loads of money on Christian books, watched Christian teachings, listened to worship, etc.
Then... that still, small voice...
I always resonated with this line from a Shannon Wexelberg song called "Quiet Places":
The world outside is calling me
But I hear You whisper softly,
"Come follow Me."
So I will run to Your embrace
For my spirit has been longing
To look upon Your face.

This is true! What you feed will grow (you’ll crave it) and what you starve will die! I think it’s hard for me to do same time every day! My schedule is all over the place but i so want to get back on track with my relationship with Christ. I want to become more consistent with spending time with Him because there is NOTHING like being in His presence. I started off 2024 thinking I was going to read the Bible in a year but then it just became a task that I checked off every day and eventually i stopped. I want to spend time with Him because i WANT to not because I have to. Thank you for this message. Hoping this encourages me to keep going.

I read my bible to grow closer to God
I have a problem am so determined to reading the Bible but nothing not even one verse stays in my mind after reading everything disappears I really don't know how to stop this
I really want to be able to pray while saying those verses in the bible but I can't and I hate it
@@Carol0110 please pray before read. Do it daily. It takes time. Then you realize that you remember more than you expected. Almighty God sees you and your effort also he hears your prayer and help you to understand and remember.

As I got into career mode, married young, had kids and now stay at home to homeschool them, I've found a consistent routine SO CHALLENGING. I want it so badly, but I get to easily distracted. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is so weak! I'm excited to implement some of these ideas. I have a consistent workout routine, so that correlation hit home. Bless you!

Wow..Im sad you've had huge losses in such a short time..yet..God really wants you totally dependant on Him. He is refining us. We are His Bride & we are preparing our 'wedding gown'. See 1 Thesselonians 4:14-18 & 1 Corinthians 3 about the works & our rewards! (Works=those as unto God eg..include also in our home praying, worshipping in spirit & truth).
Ive seen/heard my daughter almost daily for 4 years grieving for her husband (1st & only love)..who was lost to her & her 3 children, through an accident..her once love of Lord had been quite lost but through this anguishing time she has only run into Jesus & He has shown Himself strong to her. I was there dor her to help her keep her eyes on Him. She has a lovely relationship with Him again. I encourage you if you might need..find someone who can encourage you on..that is what we are to be as the Body to each other.

I thank God for his direction and You for your encouragement! So many things you said resonated with me and now I will go forward. I stopped saying today for 60, today for 30, just 15 today because those days in His Word were few and far between. But because I want a relationship with Father I am committed to just go as He leads me even if it’s for 5 minutes in the shower! Thank you for this valuable and rich encouragement. Thank you for this message. I came across it accidentally, I'm sure God actually led me somehow while I was scrolling. I got saved in 1995 age 28 and until 2015 I was in the Bible daily loved the Word. When I went through storms, I would get even closer to God. I always thought I would always be close to Him and rely on Him. Then I'm 2015 I went through a very hurtful thing and menopause started a couple months later. Little by little I read the Bible less and less. I was so depressed for a few years. I'm better now and I try to read but it is a battle! Every day I get sidetracked. It's sorta like I'm scared to pick up my Bible. I can't explain it. I am going to try to implement your plan. Please pray for me!

Where I attend church, we have an 8 month programme,CBRSM...consistent Bible reading and Scripture meditation.
It's a discipline,it has helped me start reading the bible consistently since 2017.
