Tommy, you inspire us not only Malaysians but also outside. The mood of the Govt and the positive vibes is reflective of the voters who supported PH. Hopefully, this continues with a zest to do good, catch the thieve and win the hearts and minds of voters by systematically following the manifesto over the next few years.
I still remember about Japanese politics, when the Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ) came to power in 2009 in landslide electoral victory. For the first time in over fifty years, the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) was no longer the largest party in the House of Representatives. The DPJ ran on a platform of change, promising a decisive break from LDP rule and a wide range of political and policy reforms. However, the DPJ was unable or unwilling to carry out most of its reform promises in its campaign manifesto of 2009. In return, in 2012, just over three years later, the DPJ fell from power in an equally stunning landslide loss to the LDP. Ironically, the same situation is going to and will happen in Malaysia. The manifesto is not just guidelines. It is a promise that you need to fulfill.
Thank you for clearing this out as far as “manifesto” is concerned.. People need to stop parroting things just to sound like they’re “in” with things..
I am just asking government to fulfil what they had promised..Thats all..No more politic on that..because I am just a layman who have so many responsibilities towards my family..
ali--wat happens 2 MY WORD IS MY BOND..or a handshake seals the deal... but oh...? they mean nothing... only false promises...like mahathir wanting 2 walk back on the promise 2 sell water 2 singapore @ 5 sen per 1,000 gallon... no deal...
Well said.. ..we must ready to change our mindset now... remember.. ..government of the day.. ..if you dont satisfy the ruling govt..you can change it in the next election.. thats make the politician have to work harder and become more creative integrity to be elect again in rural and peasant areas..and it make malaysian really become a high class minded citizen... For instance, look at Japan, we cant remember how many time they changed their Prime Minister..and it proven Japan Goverment is the most integrity govt compare to all nation including US.. ..such Tun M said before... 'the power of Shame in Japanese Ethical work and lifestyle...'

Well said. Mandate given is for a period of 5 years. Why the obsession of achieving the manifesto over a short term period. The govt and country's financial situation cannot be resolved over a short period of time. "Rome was not built in a day"....
Can we leave God out of this issue. 100 days is nothing when you consider the Alliance/BN has ruled the country the last 61 years... I guess you prefer BN's style of governing!
khoo--- so u condone BREAKING PROMISES N THE LAW... 2 get elected... henceforth any politician can promise the electrotetes like no income taxes, everyone will have a free house/flat, a job 4 life , rm 1 million p.a. gift for life... n then when he/she is elected... those promises will NOT b met.... hard luck u dummies... 2 believe ... all these promises....

Thank you very much honourable AG sir. You have schooled us well on this 'manifesto' issue. I believe most of us are seeing a clearer picture of things now. It is very apparent that tranparency is most important in disseminating vital information affecting the nation and its people in simple language that the common man on the street can understand. Out of the blue we hear about this ICERD thing and Rome statute thing and so many other 'things' that just serve to confuse and frighten the rakyat! If only people in the know would take the time to explain clearly to the ordinary citizen the various issues that affects him directly or indirectly, there will be better understanding all around. Nobody is bad or looking for trouble. Ignorance breeds fear; fear breeds unrest, and unrest leads to chaos.
The manifesto is the reason people voted PH. PH is given 5 years but they opted for 100 days with all the promises. Breaking promises and making excuses one after another are signs of their weaknesses. Rakyat has now seen their 'true color'.
Promises were made, the whole world heard. How do look upon people who don't keep their promises? We have been taught from young to honour our promises, doesn't matter if others honour their promises. Never cared whether legally binding or not.
You call it "obsession" because you were not a party to it. For those who had followed the manefestoes, they were anxious and desirous in their fulfilment, and since they being nade, had allowed PH to win, PH needs to keep those promises made to malaysians. You can say it takes time to accomplish due to various reasons but that they will be fulfilled.
Obsession with manifesto? What manifesto?? Only the opposition and the losers are harping over the manifesto. Is the PH govt bothered by their lame whimperings? We voted to kick out BN. Everything else is just a bonus!
the opposition. If they take the promises seriously, they will be disappointed. But since the PH was voted to form the Govt., let them carry on in spite of falling back on those promises. They inherited a big mess, so let's be considerate and patient.
Shallow minds do not see the future but want to be contended with the lifestyle of ex warloards....Mr Tommy the rightious will eventually see the LIGHT...
1. Did you just said BN didnt keep menisfesto promises so pakatan dont have to? People voted for a change, so its it wrong for for some people to expect a gov who actually kept promises? 2. About the period, we didnt asked for 100 days, its pakatan who promised 100 days. And again back to 1. You cannot promised a dayeline and then tell us the dayeline is not important. We didnt expect it to be done in 100days...but why did pakatan said 100days. that's the question.
dead--PH promised 100 days 2 get votes... 2 beat unmo... if PH said they will achieve success in 10 promises in 1,000 days... the result wil;l NOT b the same.. unmo will b returned 2 power... that's it.
way to go Tommy...its normal everyone want instant results even deep inside they already know its not possible and of cos the opposition will take full advantage of this situation...thats politics...lets see the results of PH by end of the 5 years...
I still remember about Japanese politics, when the Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ) came to power in 2009 in landslide electoral victory. For the first time in over fifty years, the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) was no longer the largest party in the House of Representatives. Promise is promise. All promises made must be fulfiled. But taking the consideration of the damage done by previous government were far worse than expected, it's always better to be slow than messing up.
I have to give credits to all the panels who willing to discuss and answer questions from the public, it's not always we see minister, speaker, attorney general comes together for a forum, of course kudos to the umno youth deputy for coming and join the panel as well.. kudos to all! We want to see more of these of kind of forum, debate where we all can talk about sensitive issues openly, who knows by doing so we all may be able to solve them together.
With those three branches let the old order of system proven without doubt, the foundation is cracking down and those pillars of institutions can never be able to broadly based and firmly footing. Unseen forces are already busy with rolling up the disintegrated old system. the new order of administration must be with integrity with spirit of loving consultation and consolidated manner , spread out in its stead ,with universal laws and principles befittingly raised on a new constitution. We can't afford anymore concern in isolation as being part .Our unified vision This process must be intensified through educating the masses through concerted actions. Repairing the flawed system would further lead us to instability and failure. It is time for witnessing an era beaconing for New Malaysia towards attaining a higher standard
100 days is not even sufficient to have a Court trial to be held like in the case of Najib's corruption case; what can be significantly achieved in 3+ months.? Be realistic. BUT what is most important is the sense of ACCOUNTABILITY by the Civil servants which was instituted immediately at the stroke of the 9th May after the change of Government. Now that is the most significant change manifested.
Of course...why obsessed with manifesto? People in Malaysia under BN, do not hv enough food to eat, most are at poverty level, they could not spend as much as before for food, handphone etc...no wonder when new handphone is introduced, almost nobody show up, no wonder mamak restaurant which are known for their special price, are empty most of the time...internet and karaoke places are vacant most of the time etc during BN as proof that people really suffer under BN. So when PH offer their sweet manifesto that can be done in 100 days, people are so happy...they do not want to suffer anymore under BN rule... and even so, many sufferings can be abolished in 100 days...based on wht PH said b4 election, they look so clever and seems to know all in detail abt this country situation b4 election, and they come up with this 100 days manifesto with big big big smiles....oh...now, they dont know...well...well...
We only claim what has been promised. The previous gov collapse because of the manifesto. So what's the problem? TM was the previous gov for 22 years so he knew on how to run the country. Now you saying you need more time? This is same as lying.
We can't afford anymore concern in isolation as being part .Our unified clarity of vision will reach its focussed attention when we see the big picture as whole and not in parts,as a good physician diagnose for root cause of problem first before proscribe the remedy . This process must be intensified through educating the masses through concerted actions. Repairing the flawed system would further lead us to instability and failure. It is time for witnessing an era beaconing for New Malaysia towards attaining Its victory in its struggles.
The PH manifesto/statement DECLARED to the rakyat in ALL its pre-election public rallies stated the intentions/promises of action to be undertaken if PH is voted into governance. Of course, the rakyat TRUSTS!! the PH team/party in governance to be trustworthy AS WELL AS to be EFFICIENT/prompt in taking the necessary corrective/rectifying actions to MAKE RIGHT what has been done WRONG, AND instituting reforms/improvements necessary to MAKE Malaysia GREAT!! Again! AND!!!, the PH government ALSO acts as a CATALYST!! for reforms/changes AND improvements/further progress/advancements, e.g. If the PH govt drags its feet in abolishing road tolls (an indirect tax which acts to further impoverish the rakyat) then it is understandable that the rakyat WILL be anxious or impatient with the new (PH) govt! Similarly, if the PH govt is perceived as dragging its feet to institute justice where the appropriate justice SHOULD be applied PROMPTLY (e.g. a case of bringing Najib n his wife, Rosmah, to account for RMHundreds of Millions in their possession n spendings or money transfers, etc. ESPECIALLY when evidence ALREADY exists at least Two years BEFORE the General Election) then it SHOULD NOT come as a surprise that the rakyat loses FAITH/trust in the INTEGRITY of the PH team in governance!
By comparison BN gov't had the opportunity to fulfill and complete a recycled manifesto give and take over 2 terms. Thats as realistic as it can get. However they're focus were diverted more to enriching their members then the people in general. That costed the nation a lot just to satisfy a handful. That's where they failed and suddenly they start harping on the current Gov't on where they failed without remorse. On the other hand, they to are the ones asking PH not to play the blame game and to move on. Its like being hit hard on the head and telling people to forget the hammer.
Distinction here is the guy in charge is the very guy that did not follow the tenants of rule of law when in charge ,to promise something with prior knowledge is deception ,yes 100 days is unrealistic but this is indeed misleading
Good effort on soothing the expectations, numbing the conscience & make us forget that some of us got screwed. Please do remember that the theme of the PH campaign was the reform to make things better. To put the things in perspective the action that you did for Guan Eng was expected when you suddenly appeared on the list, technically legally done but not etiquette as it was on going. You change the prosecuting team & they suddenly find is not worth proceeding with it even though the previous team only went through 25 witnesses out of 54.Yes, it's within the AG's power to drop cases like you did but seriously?that obvious? So much for judiciary reforms eh? Good job Tommy, no wonder they hired you. Budget 2019 ,the biggest in history but you left out the poor but you budgeted for PRIVATE schools Rm60 Millions? Really ? Seriously, being someone neutral, I was hopping at least some fresh ideas for Malaysia. Even with the Eminent Person's & Tun around, you guys were a bit worst than Ahmad Maslan.
Rakyat d tipu dgn pelbagai fitnah dgn fakta auta n janji manis yg buat org muda n kbanyakan tertipu lg mau ckp!! janji mnifestolh punca besar jumlah undi berat sebelah...rkyt dh snang d zmn dsn bn mau lg snang hidup dgn jnji2 kosong ph ...rkyt trutama org muda trasa kesannya bila jnji ptptn tol petrol mnjadi bahan lawak d klangan ph...Petrol dh bberapa bulan tk trun ron 95???
whether it's legal or not, promise is a promise that PH need to fulfill. Not such a sweet talk to fool Malaysia citizen after you win the election, Don't make such promises if you can't keep, it only showed your hypocritical from the truth even you try to elaborate more....
Its not easy to make people think and behave like you do...it is how you make people believe and have confidence in you...make your agenda work in steps by proper planning according to rakyat mindset. Forcing others to understand like you have in your mind is really absurd.not everybody have same mind like you.
Sir, if I borrow rm1 million from you and promised you that I'll repay the full amount to you within 6 months but fail because I didn't expect biz to be that bad, what do you say of my promise?
So, question is, was that manifesto a promise of fulfillment of it within 100 days if elected or was the manifesto just an intent to fulfill it within that period.
Having said that, I'll grant that I'm ok with giving ph 2 yrs extended time but for goodness sake, pls don't make promises that you cannot achieve within your own prescribed timeframe or else you do look and sound just like bn. You were voted in to reform, not to keep the status quo.
They only said 10 of it in 100 days... From that 10, some unable to fullfil as deficit is huge. For such a huge decifit, if still proceed to fulfil manifesto as priority... its stupidity or only care about popularity and gain vote... Buts thats not gov all about. Well done PH. You guys able to weight what is priority.
Good explanation. What u said sir,its 100% no doubt about it.
Totally agree with you,sir.
yes well said ag tommy!

Very well said & explained
Agree with u sir.
Tommy, you spoke my mind
We're a country which point fingers
Good one Sir!
The manifesto is just "motto" guidelines -
You well said , understandable.
Precisely MANIFESTO IS NOT A PROMISE is just A PERCEPTION OF IDEATION
Yes but they must try their best to fulfill it. Otherwise it will make the manifesto redundant / mickey mouse document.

We cannot compare 100days (manifesto) to 60+year. We can only tell at the end of the five years term. A manifesto is just what a perty intend to do.
zee--so don't promise
Well said ...Sir
I think it is because it has been promised. You know people are very objective you promise something and they will seek for fulfillment. No excuse.
Yes Sir. Bring back lim guan eng case.😂
Ex chin peng lawyer now talking institutions reform?

Kho Beng Hong ....can they win if they don’t make promises?

Similarly, if the PH govt is perceived as dragging its feet to institute justice where the appropriate justice SHOULD be applied PROMPTLY (e.g. a case of bringing Najib n his wife, Rosmah, to account for RMHundreds of Millions in their possession n spendings or money transfers, etc. ESPECIALLY when evidence ALREADY exists at least Two years BEFORE the General Election) then it SHOULD NOT come as a surprise that the rakyat loses FAITH/trust in the INTEGRITY of the PH team in governance!
Tun have made right choice on choosing AG. Some UMNO cows try to make it racial issue. Even some claimed that Tun force the king to accept TT.
AG why too obsess with Statute Rome?
But , its weird. The case of LGE which similar with khir toyo, but he accepted the offer for minister. And you AG didnt say anything. Heh.
Who created manifesto, say that to their face, be realistic!
Manifesto had no sicnificant
Distinction here is the guy in charge is the very guy that did not follow the tenants of rule of law when in charge ,to promise something with prior knowledge is deception ,yes 100 days is unrealistic but this is indeed misleading
Well said but we all stupid mostly .
Hahaha..Semua kena tipu
Anggota sendiri Dap dh beritahu ph kena tunaikn janji2 walaupun macamana sekalipun.adapaham
It's a contract job.
Rakyat d tipu dgn pelbagai fitnah dgn fakta auta n janji manis yg buat org muda n kbanyakan tertipu lg mau ckp!! janji mnifestolh punca besar jumlah undi berat sebelah...rkyt dh snang d zmn dsn bn mau lg snang hidup dgn jnji2 kosong ph ...rkyt trutama org muda trasa kesannya bila jnji ptptn tol petrol mnjadi bahan lawak d klangan ph...Petrol dh bberapa bulan tk trun ron 95???

Ckp bahasa kebangsaan...tak layak memegang jawatan peguam negara yg hanya mengagong kan bahasa asing.
Bcs 90% of the PH voters, vote based on the offer in the manifesto. Soo kami sudah kina kincin lah pa ci'
That 90% is ur own perception , in reality 90% of the voters vote for a new Malaysia ... And dumb the previous racist and kleptomaniac government .
Please stop shaking hands. Very unhygienic
Tapi ada orang charges lepas kahkahkah
BeeEND, mau main kotor pe, takut perubahan, dan orang kampung tinggal kan dier.
Well said sir
whether it's legal or not, promise is a promise that PH need to fulfill. Not such a sweet talk to fool Malaysia citizen after you win the election, Don't make such promises if you can't keep, it only showed your hypocritical from the truth even you try to elaborate more....
badman331973 ..how can they win if they do not promise you the world?
Al KUTTY having fun eh?
Its not easy to make people think and behave like you do...it is how you make people believe and have confidence in you...make your agenda work in steps by proper planning according to rakyat mindset. Forcing others to understand like you have in your mind is really absurd.not everybody have same mind like you.
PAS UMNO ELLY LOKMAN ADA FAHAM ? LOL
First time ag ceramah macam ni..lawak
Jangan janji le pada rakyat ph.dari awal le janji ckp 5 tahun jgn ckp 100 hari.tommy tu mmg x pandai bahasa malaysia ke
Ni
100 days VS 61 yrs × 365 days + kleptrosi = ? ?
