chad's comment on the end is so great because its obvious he is responding to all the fans who complain that the chili's aren't as heavy and aggressive as they used to be. you could sense the retaliatory anger in his voice. that was funny.
Even before that (68 or 69, I think), Hendrix wrote a song called "Beginnings" that's really similar to Readymade. But I mean no one copied each other so it's all good.
the song came onto me a lil strangely when i first heard it i noticed there was a change in the arrangement sort of in every second repetition of the verse riff. i got used to it though and now that i know what to expect, i can feel the song quite well now.. if you get what i mean
that mountain song riff has three notes that are similar. actually the mountain song riff is similar to an old deep purple riff from the late 70s when they were with david coverdale.
So much on here... I didn’t know John wrote the bass line. It’s not my favorite from the album, but it’s definitely up there. I really thought Anthony would dig this song more than let let’s on...
agreed. its a sweet rock riff that calls for many variations. the rest of the song is completely different. think about how many riffs sound like the riff in 'frankenstein'.lol
no pardon me, i mean on idiots rule flea playe HORNS.lol my bad i said bass. he plays horns on it. eric avery wrote the basspart and it sounds like chili peppers.
th-cam.com/video/1kAIMlISHhU/w-d-xo.html surprised that John never mentioned the mountain song where he previously had said that Jane's Addiction was one of his favourite bands. Basically the same bassline.
i agree all it is is the whole step groove and then the bass plays that run and its way different. readymad sounds nothing like it. also, listen to the song, idiots rule by janes addiction which flea played bass on or several other janes tracks, they sound very much like the chili peppers did at that time so lets not attack the chili peppers originality.
The only strange thing is that they didn't mention they had copied the guitar part from Jane's Addiction - Mountain Song. Listen to it and judge whether they really wrote the music to it.
i play in a chili pepper tribute band and as the singer i told the band that i thought the vocals were somewhat out of place, and that I envisioned Chris Cornell singin this song instead... After Kiedis' comment I now know that I have the higher ground, haha... Still a great rockin song...
I hope they play this now that John is back
So Anthony can yell "clean it up Johnny"
i guess you could say johny really cleaned it up with this song
Love this
Yep he did, freaking perfect song
CLEAN IT UP JOHNNY!
These guys are soo passionate about their music. Most artist's now days fail to realize creativity and how important it is to some people.
This hasn't aged well
@@henkdetank7306 Why?
@@InFiRe59 no clue mate, maybe I misread or a comment is missing

Here I am over a decade later. These interviews are the best
Great song 👍👍👍 one of my favourites
Very very Deep Purple “Stormbringer” vibe...thanks for getting that on the album, Guys!!👍
That's really fun it almost sounds exactly like it haha.
john and chads interviews are at johns house and flea and anthonys interview are at fleas's house
ah now the line "rock it to ramones" makes sense!
Anthony and Flea: we hate the song
Chad: one of my favorite numbers
Lmao
This is the type of song that I can imagine hearing it in OHM
The verses are exactly like Mountain Song by Jane's Addiction. Both awesome songs.
Yeah, I came here cause i thought that their had sayed something related
wow John was a friend of Johnny Ramone? Awesome!
checkout Linda Ramones Instagram. you're welcome
Finally Chad gets a little more excited XD
that's john's house, watch the past recedes..
Fleas house at fleas

Wow these comments are ancient.... like finding long lost treasure.
Tell me about it
lol
Evan Coulter XDDD THATS SO IRONIC
Yours too XD
Hello there
I'm shocked by Anthony's comments on this song. I think it's one of the best on the entire album. The "clean it up" solo by John is epic

I read Anthony’s book by the pool and the chicks real started coming after that
So much on here...

John recorded Readymade on a Les Paul? Cus in every show this is the only song that he get his only black Les Paul
Yeah!
Nice done chad
Dave Navarro would be good to do an album with John on bass
ye maby the first note is the same... its nutin like it... different time feel aswell....

Yeah....but Anthony really came short on the lyrics and vocals. I’d rather listen to the instrumental version.
Clean it up Johnny
Corker
Pretentious.
