With the after-market headlight and LED rear brake-light, bar-risers ($75+), non-ridiculous pegs ($25-$85), Ricochet skid plate ($100+), rear rack, hand guards ($50+) and whatever else I couldn't spot, I'd say you did well for the current economy. Enjoy, and check that the clutch spring is on correctly!

New chain, sprockets x 2, brand new exhaust..12 months mot ( inspection)...rides great..my question is ..did I get ripped off or was it a good deal..the sad thing is I have a full motorcycle licence so I can ride any motorbike...I just liked this ybr

You can sell any bike fast for half thats what i say. Somestimes selling things is easy sometimes its hard. I try to sell a car 3 people take it for a ride and dont buy it. I try to sell an old treadmill and it goes right away I try to sell a bike and it sits. I try to sell a gun and the market is tyrannized to an orwellian unconstitutional high degree. But its a blessing in disguose that one because the gun i try to sell is an irreplaceable relic amd im just trying to post it out there to enrertain offers to try to average a street price for a gun i cant just pull up online like it and get an average price. Its not a glock 17 they just pump em out every day plastic. You can for sure say its worth 550 bucks new in the bkx with the paperwork never fired. You can go to anywebsite and see what they go for but my gun i cant do that and so i try to see what people are willing to pay but like craiglist is anti 2a they fight against our 2a i think they belong in prison for these terrible crimes

Are you guys in California? I’ve had my tw since 2020 and I have not succeeded in convincing my family members to buy a dual sport to trail ride. They all chose street bikes, harleys to be exact. If your in California, would it be possible for me to join in on a trail ride with you all? My rides have been around my neighborhood. That’s it. Lol I don’t want to trail ride alone. Break downs and who knows bobcats or whatever , could make a nice trail ride a disaster.

Mainly because there's no other bike like them and they will go through things other dirt and dual sports won't got through (deep sand, mud, snow). They're basically a 4-Wheel ATV cut in half. Tremendously tough and versatile bikes that that do it all and turn great gas mileage. I have a DR650 but also am keeping my TW200 because it will just go places my DR won't.

You forgot to mention the JNS headlight on yours...I've heard mixed reviews, mine just has an LED bulb. Mine has cycle rack on it, but I think I'd go with the Tusk rear rack if I was paying. I have a 45T rear sprocket... definitely needed if doing much road, I can hit 65-70mph. You should do a collab with TDubsKid or MobStreet...I think TDubsKid is Colorado based, MobStreet is in Utah.

Recommend service routes of high voltage towers over mountains and

I recently bought a 2018 WR250R with 3000 miles for just under 7grand. I had a few on the market in my area around Bend Oregon, Their were so many people calling I drove a little further to secure the one I had. I was doing what you did I’m on my way and they would raise the price or say someone was in line before me. I love the big ! I have spent 1500 on aftermarket parts and it going on the back of my Mercedes Sprinter for Adventure camping . Subbed your channel. Around Bend Oregon out !

I was lucky when i called because it was right after 1 canceled so I hopped on it with a deposit. That was weeks ago they said they should have them early july. I emailed the owner recently he said 7/15 should be shipping. Well it's now 7/16 and no phone call. I realize im last out of the 5 and im sure they gotta build them and set them all up. Really hoping i get a call this weekend at some point.
I would've ditched this dealer if there was alternatives but there's not and im praying i can just get through this sale and onto the bike already. I have spent over 1K on it getting it to where I want with most of that ($600) going into a brand new HD rear mono shock . Did you over pay long term? Yes. Did you over pay in the current market with the extra stuff on it? No. Like you said, can't find any new one's on the floors. Same with KLX 300s and CFR 450Ls .

I had the TW125 a couple of years ago. It was a good looking bike and was also very comfy, but the lack of power was a game breaker for me.
During my trips, I had constantly impatient traffic behind me which is not very reassuring.

Tdubs are crazy right now! Im mod on a tdub group and we get 50 new members a day looking for a tdub deal. Good frockin luck! I bought two tdubs for a decent price just before the market went nuts. Could probably sell them for double right now!

  • @OAK_MTN

Would love to grab a Tdub for my gf, and myself of course haha, but they're so crazy expensive around here. Some even sold over NEW msrp... Absolutely insane. Might go for a Yamaha XT for her instead!
I recently ended up buying a new DR650 because the used ones sold for just about 500$ under the price of a brand new one. The decently priced ones were absolutely flooded by DM's and had over 100 shoppers who saved the listing.
I'll be selling my Aprilia soon, hopefully the market will be in my favor!

It would be cool to see this compared to the Wr250r see which one is more worth modding for total cost. Seems like it would be a cool city bopper with some sticky tires.

i was puttering about my town one day and a guy pulled up next to me at the stop light and offered me 6000 cash for my little putt-putt. still new and shiny (barely broken in) with every aftermarket upgrade you can think off except exhaust. i smiled, said no thank you and puttered off into the sunset. to be fair, i did spend about that much so i wouldnt have made any money on it.

Yeah, when I first heard the asking price, I was like "WHAT?!" But, like you said, it's a crazy time right now and the price on new AND news vehicles is insane, as is the inventory. My friend in Oregon wanted to buy a new car last weekend and he had to go to something like 6 dealerships to finally find "a" car to buy -- not his ideal car, but "a" car. And, it took a colleague of mine like 9 months to get his Specialized hybrid bicycle from his local bike shop after ordering it in person -- he even bribed the guys to try to get it sooner. I doubt dealers are even selling at retail/MSRP right now, and are asking for a price over that for everything -- a difficult time to buy, but if it stays like this after you guys are done with your TW200, you'll likely get back most of your money. Cheers!

Go ride the trails. Try to get someone else with a TDub to ride along with you all. I have a 2014 I bought in May this year for $4500 with 2600 miles on it. It rides great. I'm 65 years old and I smile a lot riding it. I also have Ebikes I ride everyday.

Last year I decided I wanted my first bike, a dual sport. Crf300l looked like a great choice, until I realized they just came out and everyone wanted one and no one had one.
I settled for a CRF250l, and as soon as any year/mileage listed under $5k they were sold. I ended up with a 2017 under 300 miles for $4.6k. Felt bad paying just under MSRP for a 4 year old bike, but I’ve had plenty of fun and almost 5k miles on it now!

As far as overpaying and the aftermarket parts not adding value, anything is worth what people will pay, and that is what those are selling for now. You pay a little more for the best bike available. And as far as the aftermarket parts, while they dont add value imo, if those parts or equivalents were going to be purchased anyways, then that saves you from buying them. So you could have been at the same or very close to the final $ amount if you got a better price on a stock one plus the parts you end up putting on yourself.

I think you nailed it pretty well at that price point and your market observations, looks like a good buy. What's interesting to me is it just seems the more that auto makers cram ridiculous over tech'd cars down consumers throats, the more people are running in the opposite direction....case in point, 4 grand for a 7 year old, slow, simple bike with tractor like durability.

I actually prefer the Suzuki Van Van 200, but they were only sold a couple years making them hard to find and have very little aftermarket support. EFI and a super cushy seat are nice on the Suzuki, but it's much less trail-worthy.
The used bike market is just dumb right now, but I see signs of trouble on the horizon for the motorcycle industry. If we see the economic slow down that some are saying is coming, toys will be one of the first things people cut. My friend manages used inventory at a large powersports dealer and he is seeing a good number of people selling back bikes/watercraft/UTVs just to get out of their loans. Many are paying thousands to do this because they are under water.
Auto loan servicers are seeing reposessions accelerating and not just with sub-prime buyers and most of these are loans that originated in 2020-21. I don't want to be alarmist, but these are distress signals that shouldn't be ignored. I think it will certainly soften demand for discretionary purchases like motorcycles which will bring prices down. If we slide into a recession, then you can really expect prices to come back down as people dumo their toys to pay their bills. That poses a good oppprtunity for those who can still afford such things.
