- Bee Keeping is all about planning for the future and the first place that many overlook is their hive stands. I have done it myself. Sometimes things just happen to quick in beekeeping wether it is the rate you are catching swarms or the fact you need to make unplanned for splits.
Having the available space to expand is one of the most commonly overlooked and important aspects of any beekeeping operation
In this video I go over how I build inexpensive but sturdy and strong hive stands that allow me the versatility I need installing swarms in our Nuc Holding yard all the way to our production yard where the stands easily are holding over 1000 pounds while in Honey Production
Take your time at the beginning building your hive stands to avoid the headaches, stings and upset neighbors because your hive stand failed
I have never purchased bees. I catch Honeybee Swarms in Grand Rapids and with these techniques you to can catch bees anywhere honeybees are present
Please subscribe for frequent updates and message me anytime if you need more help then what my channel provides. Let’s save you some money catching free Honeybees year after year
You hit my radar within 11 hours of sending it so you must be doing something right.
This is my first introduction to your content but I like what your doing and you delivery works well.
I'll be back.
Thank you. You are very kind
I am happy you are here and glad you found something of value
Looks great! I do something similar so I will be doing the ant traps like you now also. Maybe you can do a short video on just the ant traps. Thanks
I will do that. I usually use the same tub with cotton balls and a boric acid bait recipe
I got lazy and I am trying these so still need more evaluation
The boric acid baits are proven and I’m sure there are plenty of commercial baits that will fit in a deli tub.
Thank you for the comment and suggestions
I really appreciate it
Rack stands that hold multiple hives are not the way to go ! I used to think so until I started having back trouble caused by constantly reaching across a hive to pull frames. Working your hives from the side is FAR easier on the back ! And with rack stand like this it forces you to work them from the back. I will never have stands that hold more than 2 hives again !!!
That hasn’t been my experience especially with the Nuc yard
I have the option to work the end ones from the side but still prefer to work them from the back
Thank you for your comment
Great video and glad to see you're moving back to better content. Those swarm trap videos were getting old! Totally agree that level is critical and worth extra time setting up. My hives are on a rocky hill so individual stands are required. Loved your video on foundationless frames....😅

Swarms is where it all started. Without swarms I would never have had bees for other content 😀
Been blessed with a lot of swarm catches early in the season this year. Couple more and I should be blessing others with #freebees also
I appreciate the feedback
