You go to boracay for the clear waters and the beach with fine sand. There are water sports available but it is not the main focus point there. It's a paradise like nature to relax and get comfy. Other islands in the Philippines are to look for if you are looking for other activities such as hiking, surfing or other kinds of sports such as Palawan, Batangas, Bicol Peninsula or the mountain regions of the cordilleras in Luzon.

Yes true, beaches in the Philippines are really beautiful. Try visiting Balabac, Palawan. Onok, island.

Boracay gets such good reviews consistently and I can see why. Bali on the other hand...?
Its only fair to let travellers know if your coming from say, the Philippines or anywhere in South East Asia, Bali beaches may be a let down.
    Think the review reflects this.
For me the Philippines over Bali is a no brainer.

I would choose Belitung island or Anambas island, or kei islands over boracay. No slum, No ugly town, No crowd, only perfect sand. But, yeah no amazing surf waves like Bali.

But Bali has so much more than the beaches/ water sports. Mountains, trekking, rainforests.
And no, people don’t go to Bali for just the beaches

    • @simplyyank1119
      @simplyyank1119 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Exactly, the main point people come to Bali is to witness the Balinese culture and it's thousands of temples. Then added to that to ultra consistent waves of Uluwatu (99% of consistency), which only Nias & Mentawais could give it a competition, beaches are only some bonuses. If it's only about beaches and coconut trees i would rather be in Ngurbloat or Pantai Madwaer of Kei Islands, finer sands without ugly town and slums to sore my eyes. 😊😊😊

Pretty much the same in Philippines. Same the activities there.
My question is, mates. Is Bali hotter than Phillipines during summer?

@@christophermichaelclarence6003you can't wandering some temples in Philippines like those in Bali, and even single island of Bali has higher mountain compare to all of Philippines, and off course way more consistent and bigger waves than whole Philippines could offers. Bali is best visited during summer months from may to September, you'll get cooler breeze from southern winter at that time. All in all, it's relatively cooler than Philippines, to this date never heard Bali got heat waves unlike Philippines got heat waves almost every single year.

@@simplyyank1119 Interesting and I’m fully aware you can’t wander temples, it’s forbidden Only the exeption ones. It’s not quite that hot in Bali, then. By the way, i’m something of a Filipino myself. Therefore locals dont see me as one of them.

Boracay's got culture! like Itas/Negritos sleeping on the road at night, I almost accidentally stepped on one of the punks, it was dark, he was dark and for some bloody reason the imp decided to sleep on the middle of the walkway, as if he was invincible from getting walked over. Now that is what I call culture!😂

I dont think they can be comparable. The reasonable comparison might be either Bohol/Cebu/Siargao and Bali. They were almost equal in terms of geographical features! I am a Filipino and I should say, Bali offers more! Just check how many visitors Bali has compare to other Philippine Islands. Bali’s airport is huge and would be able to accomodate more tourists. Downside is, bali is now overly touristed area.

It' s not apple to apple comparing Boracay 10 km2 island with 12k population with Bali island 5000 km2 n nearly 5 million people... Should be boracay vs Nusa lembongan... lol...

The true counterpart of Bali, Indonesia is actually Siargao, the Philippines which both surfing haven of South-East Asia, it's not that really relevant or similar to Boracay...

Bali is Bali, it's famous for thousands of temples and it's distinctive culture and hence the nickname island of the gods, also Bali has surfspots with ultra consistency (99% surfable for some in uluwatu) and one of them is surely the biggest in entire southeast asia named The Bombie. For beaches and surfing waves Mentawais is The true surfers heaven:

      Honorable mention:
Lagundri bay of Nias, Telo Islands, Banyak Islands, Desert Point of Lombok, and so many others. Krui will host WSL krui pro this 28 june, it is home to Mandiri Beach, home to the special sand bottom wave which could barreling bigger & longer than siargao's ultimate spot of cloud9 despite breaking over sand. Just my 2 cents, just to let you know, when you say it's Bali's counterpart, you know what surfers expectation would be, honestly speaking it's not live up to game that Bali, Mentawais,Nias even Lombok played.
