Yeast - 1/2 tblsp
Salt - 1/2 tsp

Adding yeast directly to the flour didn't work for me as the dough took way too long to rise and even after that I could feel the yeast granules in the dough. I would suggest first dissolving and activating the yeast in a little luke warm water (add yeast to 3 tblspns of luke warm water and keep aside for 10 mins, stir gently once) and then adding it to the flour.

no. here they have used instant yeast, instant yeast can be directly added to flour and they rise in 1hour. maybe you would have used active dry yeast that yeast should be activated in lukewarm water or milk and then should be added to the flour.

I love rusk! In my country they taste different and are branded, so when I came to India and first tried one, I was crazy bout them. Still am! And was wondering if I could make my own when I got an oven. The video makes it look rather easy, however I'd like to know: if I try this recipe with whole wheat flour instead of all purpose flour, will it work the same? Or should I change any measurements?
