In the decade of the 2000s, a care facility in Shelbyville was the home of Sandy Allen, who was 7-foot-7. She was the world's tallest woman. And at the same time, co-resident Edna Parker, age 115, was for 15 months recognized as the world's oldest person. And they both grew up in Shelbyville, though Allen spent most of her adult life living in Indianapolis, speaking on media and at schools about the cause of accepting people who are different. Parker lived from 1893 to November 2008. Allen died at 53 in August 2008.

Guinness records are mostly a sham now. You have to call them ahead of time and you can make up almost anything to perform. Look at any of their recent books and it's all nonsense.

They have my state be known for having I need to figure out a cool record as many people as I can together to beat it, so we can be known him for more than just having the biggest sock. IIRC, there was a professional skateboarder who set 7 Guinness records in one day. That was one short of winning most set in a single day.
