Imagine how much money the hair industry has gotten on curly Afro haired women claiming hair grease is bad. If it was bad madam CJ Walker would not have had a succesful hair growth product. I went to using Shea moisture and Cantu and Shea moisture castor leave in smells so bad and evaporates in the jar. All these mills and yoghurt textured hair products that cost 10 pounds a jar at least is just adding moisture and making hair even dryer I noticed as it doesn’t seem to seal the moisture

    • @miathesaint
      @miathesaint 3 ปีที่แล้ว +19

Honestly! I’ve spent so much money on Shea moisture (I’m a student on a budget!) and I get terrible results every time. I’ve given up on those expensive products. I just use natural shea butter, oils, and I’m going to buy some hair grease.

@@miathesaint damn me too. The secret to hair growth is simplicity. This people want to empty our pockets they dont care about there consumers wellness. They make us believe that we need 10 product from same BRAND to make ours hair look better.
Remember this, big brands like ecostyler are not even owned by black people! They don't anything about black hair. I used to cry because I thought I had a bad short hair. Conrows, Vaseline and delicacy when taking down the conrows it enough believe me.

You have noticed it right ...
I still don't understand why they would charge at least 6 pounds a item ?!
Sorry for being impolite but if they want to get rich
They are already and they will definetly because they work very hard to make those or it work and their products are very fabulous but it's not a reason to charge it this expensive

I have never paid more attention to a hair video .....EVER, however, I can't begin to tell you how your video had my undivided attention. I want to say "Thank You" for bringing a realness to the natural hair community. I went natural about 3 maybe 4 years ago; I've listened, and listened, and watched and watched hundreds of videos regarding "The care of Natural Hair" I stopped using hair grease when I first did the big chop; and now.....because of this video and a few others that I've watched, I will return back to using what I was raised on, and that's Hair Grease with my natural hair. Again, I want to say Thank you for keeping it honest/real. I wish there were more honest tubers out there such as urself. I'm sure you get a lot of comments regarding how lovely your hair is; well...I have to throw my 2 cents in there and say that your hair looks healthy and beautiful. Continue to speak the truth & may God Bless You Always. Subscribing to your channel.

    • @MissLaurenLeigh11
      @MissLaurenLeigh11  4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

Donna, thank you very much for your comment.
You have given me true, constructive feedback and I appreciate that very much.
I started this channel to share my experiences with my natural hair journey, because the other products I tried from suggested channels didn't necessarily work for my hair, so when I found what worked I wanted to give my input.
I find I have to be as honest as possible because I am the only representation of myself whilst on this channel and therefore do not want to give false information.
I can't pretend that the natural hair products currently on the market work for me, because the majority of them don't and that's fine, but I know I can't be the only one who has experienced that. This in turn has led me to cut the mess and get straight to the point and hopefully save my viewers some time and money.
Thank you again for your comment and God Bless you too xx

I am three years late but anyway I used to go to the salon every time and they use their some random shampoo and conditioner I do not know and they used a grease called soulmate . I also used to use a grease called kids originals or something like that it is kids originals triple growth and when I was transitioning my hair really flourished and grew and didn't even have to cut relaxed hair at the back but the front was stubborn to let go and I had to cut it but it was in an okay length. I use Shea butter at time and blue magic the normal blue one I only bought it recently. I also use kuza Indian hemp but I haven't really been using it . I just bought a dax Indian hemp one to try.

With this whole corona virus thing going on a lot of naturals may end up going back to cheap, reliable hair grease.

I started with local ones then graduated to Dax Green one, the Wave n groom Wax, Kuza Indian hemp, then to Blue Magic coconut oil. I went natural and gave them all away.
Now I used Soulmate when I was pregnant and my hair flourished so, I ordered after searching the Internet for the ingredient list Dax Indian Hemp and the Wave and Groom (instead of edge gel for slick styles).
I don't condemn all those who decide all-natural but ill never stop using grease again.

I definitely something I suggest you try. If you do try it, I would recommend to use it on damp hair as it's a sealant.

Ok I tried grease and I love it when it was dry but when I had to wash it my hair was waxy and sticky wet in the shower it was a nightmare 😂😭.
I didn't wash my hair for a month btw.
    Is that too much?
Or maybe washing with hot water is bad?
    Do you use sulfates?
Nothing would remove the disgusting waxy stuff but sulfates :( which made it hair dry.
My sulfates free shampoo did nothing at all :(
Please reply help a sister out lol.

      Hey!
I hear your pain girly, but I'm going to try and help as best as possible.
I wash my hair every 4 days and I do use sulfate shampoos when I have grease in my hair. I use the moisture-rich Tresemme shampoo, as it doesn't strip my hair as much as other shampoos.
Funny enough, the best shampoo which DOESN'T contain sulfates I discovered removes hair grease amazingly is the Maui Curl Quench. In general, if I don't use hair grease, this shampoo makes my hair feel stripped, but for removing hair grease it's amazing.
I try to deep conditioning as much as possible to combat the dryness of the shampoo.
      Hope this helps.x

Dont use to much cuantity. Just a tiny amount for all the hair dont put a lot of the grease in hair and scalp.Cuban women use only a little only in the hair not scalp and not every day .

Dang which grease did you use? Grease makes my hair feel amazing in the shower, gives me a ton of slip. I use Blue Magic (blue one). If you are using grease and only washing once a month you definitely need a clarifying shampoo.
