I've done MBPT and I learned a lot about myself and other people. It's worth the time to investigate yourself. Other personality test are the DISC test and the Enneagram test. They each show different aspects of how we approach life. Knowing how people think is invaluable in business.

I met my best friend when he moved in the house next door. We were around 10 or 11 at the time. We've had three fist fights and millions of episodes and adventures. I remember us being young, horny kids peaking in one of our neighbors window because she used to sleep in a see through gown. I remember he moved out of state and I went to visit and ended up staying for like three months. I Remember the first day of the visit we snuck into the movie theater to see American Pie. We were 18 at this time. I remember going to some crazy parties on the college campus in town where we were the only black people in the party. Hey Kent, I went to college & 2 of my kids are now there & we talk about this topic. II notice the guys who isolate in their rooms playing video games usually don’t meet many chicks. Have you put yourself in a ‘target rich environment’ where you can interact with the same girls on a regular basis - Like a club that seems likely to have a high ratio of girls? You don’t necessarily have to have a high interest in the subject matter - But if you have regular exposure to these people in a shared environment, you will have more ability to open the door to start a conversation. Don’t give up on yourself - This will likely be the time in your life when you have access to meet the most people (girls & guys) EVER. Go get ‘em Kent!!!

It is not my goal to have friends; they betray you and use you when they need something. They only want you to be comfortable, they only want you to satisfy their own needs. I hear you, Syreeta. Once I had so-called ‘friends’ like that who basically turned out to be users - one even STOLE from me! I dropped her ASAP after that. I would rather be ALONE than with people I can’t trust!! Now I am extremely careful who I let into my small circle. After many years and mistakes of picking the wrong people and getting burned - I have 3 true blue friends who I would trust with EVERYTHING - My car keys, house keys, debit card, passwords, and even my children. EVERYTHING. 100%. They would pick up the phone at 2:00 A.M. and LITERALLY come over if I needed them. One friend showed up IMMEDIATELY when my husband had a health scare & watched my kids while we went to the hospital. Her husband also dropped everything and came over, too. And they acted supportive like your best family members do. We can close ourselves off to protect ourselves which is TOTALLY understandable after getting burned by people we mistakenly THOUGHT were our so-called ‘friends.’ But there are STILL truly good, honorable people out there in the world. It took me DECADES to find them. After getting burned & dropping those mental cases like a ton of bricks, I always keep my eyes open for people that seem genuinely good & share my values - They are RARE - but they DO exist. Not everyone is dishonest, self serving a-hole. There are TRULY kind, nurturing, caring, giving people in the world. I know because I am one of them. When I meet a new potential friend, I told my husband they are on ‘probation’ in my mind LITERALLY for a year or two. I don’t become vulnerable and give people access to what is near and dear to me carelessly. It’s not their fault I have been burned - but to protect myself as much as possible, they have to earn my trust over time by behaving in a trustworthy manner. They can’t use me to serve their purposes, steal from me, lie to serve their own interests, (but lying to protect my feelings by telling me I don’t look fat in my pants is OK. 😆) The few friends I have now are GOLD. They have given me keys to their home & also trust me with their children. One good friend let me borrow her car when I needed an SUV (but refused the cash I tried to give her for gas) and I let my other friend take my van when she needs it. Good people are out there. Hopefully, you keep your heart open to love in many different ways because true loving and kind people ARE out there. You just must be careful - but I pray you don’t give up.💕
Aaron, You have to BE a friend to get a friend. One thing I know for sure: They won’t come knocking on your door. You’ve got to be proactive and go out and find them. Joining a club is a good idea. You should have lots of clubs at your school! 💕
