    I just noticed that in the past couple of days Amazon is now shipping most goods to PR. Maybe the new government that was voted in January, may have something to do with the change. Still takes two weeks for you to receive your order but I’ll take it. Great news

      About year ago they suddenly stopped shipping , only 3rd party. Most items were unavailable then one day Amazon prime back in business about a week ago. I used my family address in NY for Amazon prime and then they would ship my order, to me here in PR. For large furniture will see when I order soon. Thanks

    I'm so glad that fork-lift was able to lift the cube. I was feeling a little suspenseful. I love caves, too. I'm hoping you got to experience some of the caves in PR. The most obvious one is Las Cavernas de Camuy, but there are many others.

      @@dorkladytravels I was fortunate enough to experience the window cave twice before it became commercialized. I enjoyed it with no rules, no guide, no cost, no group, and no certainty what was going to happen. Just a few tips I learned from PuertoRicoDayTrips.com. It was truly an adventure. And we were able to go out the window as far as we dare, which you could feel in your gut, if you know what I mean.

    I think I’m staying in Arizona. It’s hot in the Summer, but mild in the Winter. No headaches though. No endless government minutia! Thank you for telling me the truth of Puerto Rico! I lived there as a child, so my parents protected me from the responsibilities and torture of getting things done P.R. Style. I’m moving to my ranch in Snowflake. To think I almost sold it to move to P.R. and my house in Yuma to move to Puerto Rico! Adios querido Isla! I don’t need the nightmares or the headaches!

      I strongly feel P.R. government (the voters) need to quickly get a 100% independent (nonpolitical party) inspector general (IG) bounded by TIGHT laws that force the IG to perform and report on constant audits, financial statements, public REPORTING and allowing the public see where EVERY penny is going, how (publicly) P.R. government (including school staff at ALL LEVELS) are being hired, link party affiliation with hiring practice and see patterns that will tell the P.R. public if hiring is being done by the "best & brightest" or party affiliation. Before I move my income to P.R., I want a 99% assurance government decisions are not being made through political party affiliation but mathematical logic and what's best for the children (future generation) of Puerto Rico.

      One of those cubes is the equivalent of a 1BR apartment packed to the roof, and ours cost roughly $3500 from Dorado to Sparks, NV in 2021. Your rates will vary based on distance. If you can sell some things and squeeze it all into one, you'll save quite a bit, and your items will be safer as the tighter it's packed, the less damage there will be due to rough seas.

    Hola Diane:
    We are thinking of purchasing a villa in Dorado del Mar for future retirement and or investment, based on your experience do you consider this will be a good idea or option? I grew up in Bayamon years ago but i am established in Florida, we are flying next week to meet a realtor in Dorado so she can show us some units for sale, i guess my concern is the cost of power,water,utilities but mainly the future of the island and its economy. I am open to your good or bad opinion. Thank you so much for your love on the island and i will apologize for those nasty and derrogatory comments some locals have towards americans they certainly dont represent the real puertoricans.

      Appreciated your prompt response. We will definitely will wait til we pull the trigger, as investors we always looking for right time and with this AirBnb system we are motivated to buy some property by your villa so we were thinking about the Dorado del Mar area since its more centered to tourism. And You’re right On when you say it’s hard to say based on the shaking economy, perhaps in the future PR will be back on it’s feet. Did you rent using a realtor or you did the rental on your own?
      Regards.

      that's not the way to say things , many Americans I've met have taken the Island as home , I worked with a lady back in the 90s here in puerto Rico, just like other countries that have taken the island as home...just like many puerto Ricans who are 4 possibly 5 generation born and raised in the states and also those who've just decided to shift an entire change...And in some sense your finally saying something I've been seeing many Puerto Ricnas can't handle living in the states.....Locals are locals and in some cases it's better you stay in the island ,doesn't mean that those how come are evil or taken your land....Just be welcoming with out being to pushy.....I was born here but I was able to gravitate to the U.S ,,cause of being there young, and the idiosyncrasies are different thats all..

    Hey Diane, hoping you can help give me an idea of what it will cost to ship a you pack container to PR? Did you ship furniture to PR when you moved out there? Hopefully I'll be deciding on a moving company tomorrow but after doing a little research today I saw that I'll have to fill out an EEI form. I'm doing the same container you have in this video which is extremely pricey to ship. But now I have to worry about the additional charges "taxes" I'm breaking my head trying to figure out if its worth doing the shipping. I know I'll be saving a few dollars by doing so but not sure if the extra fees would diminish my savings. Any thoughts is greatly appreciated , thanks.

    You did a nice job on Puerto Rico. I JUST bought a penthouse condo near Dorado - super deal via Fannie Mae, but don't plan to live there. Been visiting since 1963. I live in the Washington, DC area - 4 hours from P.R. I saw all your P.R. videos and again, nice job! You have amazing patience! When I deal with P.R. folks - family, friends, gov, etc. - I REPEAT my request, and repeat the expectation, and REPEAT again. That dramatically increases my success rate - NEVER 100% but a lot better if I did not do it. AND ALWAYS BE NICE. You mentioned NO Whole Foods, NO Target, etc. but left out Super Walmart, two Costcos in Bayamon - I JUST went to both of them to buy furniture, wide selection of produce at Walmart, and as a vegan, I buy organic frozen fruits and vegetables along with non-organic. Frozen produce holds nutrient a lot better than fresh shipped. Good luck! I'll be in P.R. during winters when I retire in 10 years, at age 70. In the meantime, seeing the rest of the world, and was in Cuba in November. th-cam.com/video/NsjB7X39_js/w-d-xo.html

    • @samuelbonetsanchez6874
      @samuelbonetsanchez6874 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nesq4104 $250 BUT need to be HIGHER!! Remember the less they collect, the less maintenance on the property - as long as the money is ACCOUNTABLE - like our taxes. When you are near or at the ocean, you need more maintenance plus the humidity. I told the HOA board IN WRITING they need to raise it and not delay maintenance, but I suspect some are on a fixed income - but not poor - and I also suspect MOST don't understand you "get the money back" when you sell if your community is well maintained. I was told by many MOST HOAs are broke, don't have enough for an emergency, etc. I shared it with my board, gave them supporting documents/analysis of collect reserves, etc. I'm lucky. My community has a small reserve, but again, it needs a bigger reserver such as a few hundred thousand dollars. During Hurricane Maria, I was told a $25K transformer INSIDE THE CONDO COMMUNITY blew up. My HOA - I was not an owner at the time - did not have the reserves and an owner loan the HOA the money!!!!

    • @nesq4104
      @nesq4104 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@samuelbonetsanchez6874 wow. Having High Hoa is discouraging to buyers but I get your point it's necessary for reserves. During the recession in Miami the city would declare condo buildings uninhabitable because the HOA dudnt have enough money to pay essentials utilities like water. So imagine being evicted out of your beautiful condo because no one else is paying. Also HOA fees were doubling or tripling in a short time. I knew someone who paid 200 month then it jumped to 400 then 800. I been wary of condos ever since.
