The bulls were going to get their pick back as long as they remained within the top 10 of the draft 😂. And without Lavine playing, they're not going to win many games. Spurs fleeced everyone. The 2025 hornets pick is top14 protected( so that's basically turning into 2 2nds), spurs 2027 pick is going to be a high pick( mid 20s probably) if Fox and Wemby gel, and the only good pick might be Twolves 2031 pick, because nobody can predict what will happen 6 years from now 😂

You have never given the Kings credit so let's be real. Yeah, I don't like the return they got but as you mentioned, the Kings were stuck between a rock and a hard place. That said.....as Bobby Marks explained, who used to be an assistant GM for the Nets and now NBA front office insider for ESPN, the Kings did better than he thought because of Fox revealing his preferred destination. All the Spurs had to do is sit and wait, and the Kings needed to move on because it was causing a lot of distractions in the locker room. The question is......do you want to completely rebuild, or do you want a solid player with assets? The Kings chose the latter. Now, they are 12 mil under the cap and they have an arsenal of picks, including their own, plus 2nd rd picks to upgrade the roster either through a trade or draft.
We got the worst picks in this deal man fu**. The only way to salvage is trading demar for a defensive wing like cam Johnson and maybe we can be a 9-10 seed
We managed to keep our valuable Hawks picks and some of the most valuable picks in later years. We only sacrificed Tre (will be FA this year), offloaded the worst contract on our roster in Zach Collins (34-35M until 2026), as well as some 1sts that highly likely won't convey to us (Chicago '25 1st top 10-protected and Charlotte '25 1st top 14-protected), our own '27 1st (likely outside the lottery), and Minnesota '31 1st (still 6 years away, anything can happen in that span) and a few 2nds to sweeten the package (that's why we stacke those 2nds in the last few years). All in all, we still have valuable assets to build the roster around and we get a prime Fox to form a duo with Wemby, so we are just excited.
Brian Wright wins GM of the Year if he replaces G-Leaguer coach Mitch Johnson with a REAL NBA coach with REAL experience. Former Spurs Monty Williams was a player AND a coach for Pop. He lives in SA.
@TheMilitiaGuy i don't like Mitch as well, but i think they are still assessing. Hopefully, the next HC will be one of the branches on Pop's coaching tree.
I don't get why Sacramento didn't try to maybe get Lonzo Ball back as well. Even if he didn't stay long term, he at least gives them a good starting PG option for the rest of this year as they compete for a playoff spot.
With Fox and Lavine stacking up their stocks to be a tradable piece, I'm starting to think Zion is next, when he started by changing his agent, getting back in shape and showing that he's producing but not risking injury by playing in limited minutes. And per his last interview, he sounds a little cryptic. Like, he can play more minutes but since he's about to be moved they're showing him off without risking injury.
As a Sac local, we only made this version of the deal to get a “allstar” and keep ticket prices up. There was no reason to do this deal fox hadn’t made it ugly yet coulda just waited till the summer and nuked the roster
Chicago's pick was top 10 protected so it didn't matter if they lost all their games before the trade, they still would have gotten their pick if it ended up inside the top 10.
Good for spurs but how they will make play CP3 Fox Vassell Castle together seems hard to me, he should try to have a good PF good shooter even better!!!
So for their franchise face and all star pg they got: a constantly injured and fairly one dimensional shooting guard who just 3 months ago was seen as untradeable, 2 1sts functionally and 5 2nds, which have the value equivalent of cash considerations
Saying Huerter, Collins, and Jones are probably worth a 1st is crazy when we've seen he bulls front office be awful at making trades. Thats why bulls fans dont like this move. Zach's contract is big yes, but he's been playing at an allstar level this year and I think the Kings could have sent a protected first pick as well.
The Bulls pick is top 10 protected, so if they were losing every game this season they were going to own it. The issue is that it becomes unprotected next year, meaning it hurts them for next year.
If you don’t mention Malik Monk in this video then you expose yourself haven’t watched the Kings this year. No disrespect. No one can watch every team and Kings have been mid west coast so who would but it’s obvious
How did the Kings forget to get their 2031 pick back??? One of the three first round picks will probably end up as two seconds, and the other two first round picks are low value
Lets think about this. Fox did a lot for the Kings organization and fox wanted to go to the spurs. The organization did Fox a solid and still got something in return which is better than nothing.
I think the kings went for Lavine because they don't think they'll be in the top 12 even if they just get rid of Fox for picks. Their frp this season is top 12 protected going to the hawks
CP3 stays and gets to play against the opponent's backup PG. I'm sure Brian Wright knew Spurs were in the driver's seat and said Castle and the Hawks picks were off limits. But to not give up Vassell, Johnson, Sochan, Castle AND get rid of that Zach Collins contract? Wright wins GM of the Year...BUT he needs to replace Mitch Johnson with a REAL NBA coach with REAL experience.
It’s been a struggle to close out games this year. Before trade, our ceiling was play in like 8-10 seed. This trade might bring us to 6-9 seed if we can start to close out games and stay injury free.
I think the question we all should be asking ourselves is who is the 3rd star that is going to leave and join the Spurs???? It is inevitable now, try and tell me otherwise. Wemby is on a rookie contract, if there is a time to make the money work it is specifically right now.
Nah this team is way better tho, Sabonis better than vuc, Keon Ellis and Murray turns it around, the scoring 115 plus a night but we’ll see u downsides as well and they still have monk off the bench
Zach Collins is a negative contract, he fell off offensively and a traffic cone defensively, the spurs would need to attach picks to get rid of him which is even better that he was included. Tre Jones is solid but won't have minutes with the addition of Fox and Sidy is a project. So Spurs gave up next to nothing in terms of rotation players. 🎉🎉🎉
So are the Kings keeping Lavine long term or no? They’re still in the play in hunt and he’s playing well and not a FA until I think 2026 or 2027. So I think they keep him just wondering.
C- is very generous for the Kings, they get an F from me. Not only did they not get any meaningful picks back, they're now stuck with LaVine's contract, and are forced to rerun the Chicago Bulls experiment. The "win now" mode is just a mirage, they're not winning anything no matter what they try. Just get picks and expiring contracts back and let Monk and Murray step up to fill the void. It's Sacramento being Sacramento again ...
I think you are overrating what the bulls got, because the pick was top 10 protected so most likely they would have still gotten that selection+ Lavine has been ballin this season his value should be way higher than this. IMO opinion it’s a bad haul for the not so mighty Bulls
Your wrong the bulls pick wasnt going to fall between 14 and 19 it was top 8 protected as of yesterday the bulls had a 98% chance of keeping it. This was a horrible trade for them fixing their own mistakes the trade wouldnt have been as bad if the facts you layed out where true but they where wrong
Fox’s extension will immediately be a top 10 worst contract in the league as soon as he signs it. Only the Spurs can afford this since they have a superstar on a rookie contract. The Kings were never going to become true contenders building around Fox anyways.
@Facelessman276 top 10 worst contract is a stretch. There will be yearly adjustments to salary caps in the league, so i think the Spurs will still have the advantage to build around our roster.
This guy doesn't know basketball, Malik Monk will probably average 22ppg now, Lavine is so much better than Kevin heurter with Keon Ellis as a defensive specialist off the bench, not to mention Demar who has been amazing lately. Then Keegan who locks up everybody from Curry to Jaylen Brown, and Mr. Double Double averaging 14 rebounds a game?? Kings are easily better than the spurs right now. Fox has a broken hand.
Kings needed to move on from Fox. He was bringing the team down. He is so unmotivated and just became apathetic. He has been on a 2 year downtrend. It seems like he is always playing through injury. He doesn't drive as much as he used to and is settling for 3s. So, I believe the Spurs did a great job of not giving up much. Maybe Fox needed a change of scenery. My gut tells me the Spurs are in for a big surprise when it doesn't pan out. They do have Castle so it may not even matter if Fox pans out. So I still think Spurs Deserve an A+ Kings B+ I think they could've pulled more somehow.
At least the spurs kept nearly all their young core. Considering Wemby is considered to be the best player in the nba in 2-3 years it’s very good that Fox plays with him in the middle of his prime.
@@RayanButler-h2m it's a good deal for the Spurs and Kings. the Bulls are the losers here (ofc they're just playing capture the Flagg, so it works out for them, too)

Ngl ur take on the bulls side was a miss, that pick was already top 10 protected anyway! They could tanked the rest of the season and got the pick anyway bro 😭 so that pick is a moot point it’s essentially nothing, so they traded Zack Lavine for 3 in and out of the rotation bench players? This was a masterclass in the Spurs taking advantage of other team’s poor decisions, being patient, and drafting well.
Two firsts the spurs sent out (Chicago protected 2025 & Min 3031) came from the Khawi - derozen trade. The ripples of that trade started with 26th pick George hill in 2008!
-Spurs traded hill to move up in the draft with Indiana to get kawhi (Also Bertans)
- kawhi eventually wants out but get a championship out of him
- spurs get derozen and Jacob in trade w/toronto
- spurs flip derozen to bulls for that 2025 protected first they just traded also get Thad young who they trade for another pick that becomes Maliki Brennan (mixed success so far still on spurs)
- Flip Jacob back to Toronto for a protected first which they draft dillingham
- trade dillingham to Minnesota for an unprotected 2031 1st that they just sent to kings and a min swap 2030

The bulls were going to get their pick back as long as they remained within the top 10 of the draft 😂. And without Lavine playing, they're not going to win many games.
Spurs fleeced everyone.
The 2025 hornets pick is top14 protected( so that's basically turning into 2 2nds), spurs 2027 pick is going to be a high pick( mid 20s probably) if Fox and Wemby gel, and the only good pick might be Twolves 2031 pick, because nobody can predict what will happen 6 years from now 😂
@berserkmonk5331 Nah Kings and Chicago got what they wanted too. Chicago got rid of salary and Kings got their Fox replacement. Dont sleep on Lavine dude has been balling.
@@roslolian11 Imagine saying the guy who gets outplayed by 35 years old Nikola Vučević is better than the guy who ALMOST broke a Kobe Bryant record for points in back to back games!
@@BeerAndJointsAllDay Are you high? Lavine 44.6% from 3 on 7 attempts. Fox 32% from 3.
Kobe is dead just cuz Fox had a good 2 game performance in the past doesnt mean shit.
@ in the past?? Yeah maybe if your definition of "past" is "just 2 months ago"
I watch ALL NBA GAMES of ALL teams and Iam telling you LaVine is foolsgold, and you out here talking about 3 point percentages? Seriously dude? I swear yall youngins think basketball is a 3 point contest🤣
Basketball is not a stats game kid, who are you taking when you need 1 bucket to win? BRICK LaVine or Fox(a proven clutch guy, pretty sure he led the entire NBA in clutch scoring early in the season)
What people in the comments don't understand is that Zach is a better player than Fox
A different player...AND injury-prone.
Fox will win you more games because he's available to play.
Fox is gonna leave next season
I don't get why Sacramento didn't try to maybe get Lonzo Ball back as well. Even if he didn't stay long term, he at least gives them a good starting PG option for the rest of this year as they compete for a playoff spot.
Lonzo makes too much money. They would have had to trade Monk for Lonzo to match salaries. It wouldn't make sense.
Malik Monk is a better point guard that Lonzo right now.
LoL do you think wemby will extend in san Antonio ? Blud is loaded he will sacrifice a little money n join Lakers sooner😂😂😂
Now the Spurs FO needs shooters like the ones they once had in their roster like: Gary Neal, Danny Greeen, Patty Mills.
Good for spurs but how they will make play CP3 Fox Vassell Castle together seems hard to me, he should try to have a good PF good shooter even better!!!
Kings Grade get C- ? Kings receive 3 1st round picks & 3 2nd round picks + Zach LaVine addition FUTURE draft picks
I'm sad to see Fox leave :(
The Bulls pick is top 10 protected, so if they were losing every game this season they were going to own it. The issue is that it becomes unprotected next year, meaning it hurts them for next year.
Can't wait to see fox cry when pop yells at him.
Monty McNair sucks! Zach Levine sucks! This trade is a cluster duck! McNair needs to be fired immediately
What happens to cp3 now?
@@buddysally886 likely ends up as a backup to Fox
@ don’t think he will cop that
I think it needs to be noted that Monk Sabonis Murray is a far better supporting cast than what the bulls had
Indeed but we still a play in exit
That true with Fox@@Weather_Nerd
Go Spurs Go!!! Pounding the Rock!
If you don’t mention Malik Monk in this video then you expose yourself haven’t watched the Kings this year. No disrespect. No one can watch every team and Kings have been mid west coast so who would but it’s obvious
yea they guy is a goof hater
I swear 2k traded haven't been this crazy
what a fleece job by the spurs
DRZ and Lavine playing together again
San Antonio's contention window has just opened, I expect a playoff run from them this year
It’s been a struggle to close out games this year. Before trade, our ceiling was play in like 8-10 seed. This trade might bring us to 6-9 seed if we can start to close out games and stay injury free.
Vucevic to LA is a matter of time
this goofy ass boy hella happy fox finally left
Welcome to San Antonio I'm ecstatic. Fox, Wemby, Castle. Possibly a new big 3 and the Spurs kept Vassell, Sochan, KJ Go Spurs Go🎉🎉🎉🎉
It would be nice if the Spurs could make the playoffs this year.
The Kings should go get Coby White next
I think the question we all should be asking ourselves is who is the 3rd star that is going to leave and join the Spurs???? It is inevitable now, try and tell me otherwise. Wemby is on a rookie contract, if there is a time to make the money work it is specifically right now.
true true
I don’t love this for the kings it’s the Chicago Bulls west
Nah this team is way better tho, Sabonis better than vuc, Keon Ellis and Murray turns it around, the scoring 115 plus a night but we’ll see u downsides as well and they still have monk off the bench
@ This team is not go enough to compete with the top of the west and too good to tank it’s NBA purgatory
Kings did well considering the corner Klutch put them in.
No they did not, they did horrible actually 😂
jajajajaja
Zach Collins is a negative contract, he fell off offensively and a traffic cone defensively, the spurs would need to attach picks to get rid of him which is even better that he was included. Tre Jones is solid but won't have minutes with the addition of Fox and Sidy is a project. So Spurs gave up next to nothing in terms of rotation players. 🎉🎉🎉
Good gravy, the Bulls have traded away DeRozan, LaVine, and Caruso and got ONE 1st round pick out of it, their own. Is Arturas Karnisovas a troll?
Best player ever, forget now lol only thing that could stop him is injuries. Don't care how many rings he gets or mvp.
Lavine trade value was like 2 stars in 2k apparently 😂
Bulls got nothing
So are the Kings keeping Lavine long term or no? They’re still in the play in hunt and he’s playing well and not a FA until I think 2026 or 2027. So I think they keep him just wondering.
Go Spurs Go!🩶🖤
Cooper flag goin to the bulls
C- is very generous for the Kings, they get an F from me. Not only did they not get any meaningful picks back, they're now stuck with LaVine's contract, and are forced to rerun the Chicago Bulls experiment. The "win now" mode is just a mirage, they're not winning anything no matter what they try. Just get picks and expiring contracts back and let Monk and Murray step up to fill the void. It's Sacramento being Sacramento again ...
The Kings situation is the same. Fox was not lifting this team up.
So it's just then it's just the Sacramento bulls now? 😂. But as a warriors fan I want domas
Cali-Tx trade. Houston next
What does fox do at an elite level?
This guy doesn't know basketball, Malik Monk will probably average 22ppg now, Lavine is so much better than Kevin heurter with Keon Ellis as a defensive specialist off the bench, not to mention Demar who has been amazing lately. Then Keegan who locks up everybody from Curry to Jaylen Brown, and Mr. Double Double averaging 14 rebounds a game?? Kings are easily better than the spurs right now. Fox has a broken hand.
Bruh SA gave up no core players
In my opinion, this is a W for the Spurs and an L for the Kings.
Why didnt the kings get stephon castle whos going to be our point i guess malik monk is our new pg
Monk is way better anyway
THE BULLS SNUCK IN THE BACK DOOR & WON THE TRADE
Kings were looking really good last year. Wow.... falling hard
Most giving Kings a C or worse. Watch the Spurs end up as a #5 seed.
LA call The Kings and get Sabonis
Lavine is better than Fox
Yall tripping, Davis>Wemby, Mavs fans should be all in now! This is their window for championship, the disrespect for AD is monumental!
Still got better then Mavs 😂
Kings got 3 firsts and an all star that’s pretty good
The fact that Sacramento has a team but Seattle doesn't will never seem right to me.
we actually show up to games lol
Fox is massively overrated. and he's not that young, he's 27. Lavine is a lateral move and they get 3 first-rounder, great trade for them.
No he's not. He's exactly what they say he is. 27 is not young but, you have at least 5-7 years left with him at that age.
At least the spurs kept nearly all their young core. Considering Wemby is considered to be the best player in the nba in 2-3 years it’s very good that Fox plays with him in the middle of his prime.
@ he's a sub-20 PER ball-stopper with mediocre defense, passing and rebounding in his late 20s. am I talking about Lavine or Fox?
@@RayanButler-h2m it's a good deal for the Spurs and Kings. the Bulls are the losers here (ofc they're just playing capture the Flagg, so it works out for them, too)
Miami nooooo
Massive?
Fox plays selfishly. He gives up. A point guard that can’t pass and doesn’t have a 3 point shot. Free throws trash. He’s fast and shifty with a mid range. On ball defense is good. He’s not Jordan
He is in a bad franchise in the Kings. Spurs culture will fix him.
Bulls won the deal lol
Ngl ur take on the bulls side was a miss, that pick was already top 10 protected anyway! They could tanked the rest of the season and got the pick anyway bro 😭 so that pick is a moot point it’s essentially nothing, so they traded Zack Lavine for 3 in and out of the rotation bench players? Ur genuinely telling me trading a fringe all star for 3 dudes fighting for backup minutes you “like a lot for them”?! Nah man I get they had to dump that bad contract but you can’t tell me with a straight face that’s a good trade for the bulls lmfao.
