    You should have placed all the resources from the building sites as well from the explorers spots players have placed to the -1 spot on the board subtracting 1 VP per resource not spent.
    Which means that taking the explore resource action on your last move instead of giving you 2 points would decrease them by 3. It's a really easy to miss rule which is written in the "end game" part.
    I have played several times without noticing that - It changes the game a lot!
    Also this rule should've been BOLDed in the rulebook! It's such an important rule yet the publisher messed it up so bad with not pointing that out.

      We played for the first time tonight and we also missed this rule. It was in the middle of the paragraph at the top of the page, so it was easy to miss. It would have been better if it was part of the bullet point list.

    Great channel. Heard Rodney Smith mention your channel and I am so glad he did. Keep up the great work.

      Thanks! I too heard that in the panel and was pretty blown away. I'm glad you like what you've seen so far :)

    Thanks Josh! Had a chance to play this last week but the player teaching the game was very slow and I just didn't have the time to play with slow instructions. Now I feel ready and teach it myself!

      Great news :) I do want to point out a pretty big rules miss on my part, go to 32:04 in this video as well as the final scoring section to see me explain what should have happened and how it affects the endgame scores.

    What a win from supposedly behind! I shared your excitement when you totalled the points and found out you won 😁

    Shouldn't have you substracted a point for each one of resource left on your exploitations and construction sites at the end of the game?

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't believe so, I've looked at the rules again and it only mentions subtracting points for resources in your "storage area" on the player sheet.

    • @szilardleitner5944
      @szilardleitner5944 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +JonGetsGames Then look at it once more :) (On top of page 9 in the rulebook): "As stated on the end of the game card all other players then get one final turn, after which all the players must collect any resources left on their building sites or exploitations and place them on their storage area of their guild board. The final scoring round then takes place."

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh wow, yeah didn't notice that sentence in the upper block. I feel like that could have used much more attention, perhaps having it bold but even better would be a separate line item so that it doesn't get overlooked as it was for me. Thanks for pointing this out, will definitely affect how the end game will play out.
      I've just gone through and added around 6 annotations near the end of the video trying to clear things up, it ends up making the game WAY tighter when it comes to scores and technically changes who should have won. However if the one player had made decisions knowing about this rule then they would have changed one big decision that cost them 1 point and should therefore still have won the game.

      +JonGetsGames Yes, the only reason I mentioned it is because this way the timing of your last building can be crutial. (So it may persuade your final opinion on the game while reviewing it). By the way I grab the opportunity to say thank you, I do like your videos very much.

    Great video! Thanks for doing it! Did you ever get to play it with 2 players? If so, was it enjoyable? I try to buy only games that play well with all player counts between 2-4 players and am interested in this game. Thanks again!

    Why is there numbers on the bricks and wheat and pigs but you put one less out then the number says?

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      The large number is how many resources you put down in a 4 player game, the smaller number on each exploitation chip shows you how many to put down in a 2 and 3 player game. The smaller number is always 1 less than the larger one.

    Thank you for the greet video reviews and play throughs, but why don't you combine the review of a game with its play through if you are doing one, thank you again, love your channel 😊

      It all has to do with how many times I've played the game. This playthrough was actually my first time every playing the game, so theres no way I can review it since I had almost no experience with it. In general I try to get 3 plays in with actual opponents before I will do a review, occasionally I'll review after only 2 games and sometimes I feel like I need to get 5 in before I'm ready.
      So I'd rather film the playthrough and publish it now, instead of waiting the 2 - 8 weeks it sometimes takes for me to have played it enough to do a review. I know Rahdo has a short review after every one of his playthroughs but he is also retired and plays games all week long.

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hopefully! I've only played it with real opponents once so I need to get in a couple more plays before I will feel good reviewing it. I'm pretty excited by it though, so hopefully I'll get those plays in soon :)

    This game looks very interesting...hope you'll review it because it appears that 2p would not be very fun and that pretty much makes me lose interest. But maybe there are some additional rules to make a 2p game tight and interactive, so I'm waiting for your thoughts on player count. Thanks!

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'll be pretty much ready to review it after I do get a 2p game in, and I anticapte it playing well at that count. The only real difference is you never double up build sites so theres going to be abit less "helping your opponent", but I won't know how much or how it feels until I do try it. Hopefully soon!

    Noooo Martin stop putting mean cards in your games! Why?!

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are 4 of those "By Air!" cards in the game, out of a deck of 33. I imagine the game would play fine if they were ommitted. None of the other cards are mean at all, though "Exportation" (of which there are 2 copies) can remove a resource from an exploitation tile you control which could be used as denial if you see an opponent needing that resource. Even removing those 2 as well you'd still have 27 buildings in the deck and a max of 20 that can be built in the game so it should still work fine if those cards put you off.

    • @NoPunIncluded
      @NoPunIncluded 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The thing is, I don't even mind mean cards in games, it's just when largely the game isn't mean and there are a couple of cards that dilute it. Just don't get why.

    • @jaxommm
      @jaxommm 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are no nasty cards in the game. It's about as harmless as they come.
