In my interpretation it is about depression so big it could end with suicide ("offering"). But then this someone feels/saw the light for a first time = found a reason to live and a light/hope in this whole darkness and changed mind. But fight still goes on as she sings on the end I am lucky to be alive with some sadness. But it is sad song with positive message. As even in a darker and most desperate time you can find a light you only need to survive these hard times and it will be better.

Not just a church, its the most northern medieval cathedral in the World and took over 200 years to build and nearly a thousand years old. Its where the King and Queen of Norway are crowned, married and buried. I've sadly never had the chance to go inside, just been outside.
Thanks for another great Aurora Video :)

fun fact: Nidarosdomen was built in honor of the first roman catholic saint that was a king, king Olav Haraldson (the holy). It was mostly in ruins and rebuilding it startedas a one of several nation building projects when the union between Sweden and Norway was dissolved. So, much of the church is actually from the 20th century and it is still the workplace fir a number stone masons.

Thank you so much for this reaction! This is one of the most favorite songs of Aurora. It gets to me each time I listen to it. Right now I am at a rehab clinic to find my way back to life - in a different way due to health issues. And yesterday was a point I had the line "I am lucky to be alive" in my head the whole day. • @andreasclaussenwahl5518

Not quite her native language. The lyrics is from old viking texts and it is old norse. Helvegen means the road (veg) to hell (hel). I belive the the Englush hell is derivative from hel, a legacy from the many vikings that settled in the UK (after they were done raping, killing and plundering. :-))

Here are the lyrics.. maybe a good idea to get the lyrics and read them over before the performance or to refer to them as you go... I usually find on a first listen I get the words wrong...
    Lucky
    AURORA
    When, when I am down
I lay my hands upon this ground
    For the thousandth time
I call him in, his earth is mine
    Before I make the offering
Remember all the faces that I've seen
Now all the marks have settled on my skin
From all the different places that I've been
    That I've been
And I feel the light for the very first time
Not anybody knows that I am lucky to be alive
And I feel the light for the very first time
Not anybody knows that I am lucky to be alive
    War inside my mind
Behind my eyes it's coming down
    For the thousandth time
I feel too numb to even mind
    Before I make the offering
Remember all the faces that I've seen
Now all the marks have settled on my skin
From all the different places that I've been
    That I've been
And I feel the light for the very first time
Not anybody knows that I am lucky to be alive
And I feel the light for the very first time
Not anybody knows that I am lucky to be alive
    I, I don't know where I am, or where I'll go
Where to even begin when I know
What lies behind makes no sense in my mind
But I know that it's time to let go
And I feel the light for the very first time
Not anybody knows that I am lucky to be alive
And I feel the light for the very first time
Not anybody knows that I am lucky to be alive
    I'm lucky to be alive

First, she is not religious, she has a very high IQ and she is singing about her sister that was contemplating suicide at a young age. Aurora wrote this song at age 9 and performed it at age 19 here in the cathedral of Nidarosdommen, 1000 year old cathedral in Trondheim Norway. Aurora had no thoughts of becoming a performing artist 2 years before and was discovered by her family listening to the song, then she performed in her high school and someone taped it and a manager picked up on it so here we are.

I don’t think the song is about suicide at all. According to lyrics, she said“"It's about realizing that you've been through dark tunnels in life, but still walking forward, both feet strong. We are all lucky to be alive, it's an important thing to remember." Aurora admits that she was tortured or bullied by other kids in school because she was so different in ways she looked, dressed, and acted.( Note that geniuses usually do stand alone a lot. It helps develop insight to a degree higher than the average person). She also said she spent hours at a young age, rambling through the woods. She said she never got lost because she used the stars to guide her home. I think she went through a dark period of depression trying to just figure who she was herself. She could clearly see she felt more deeply than others, but didn’t know whether that was a normal and good thing or if she expressed it, no one understood. We all want to fit in when young. . She knew she was and felt different. Her parents did the best thing in taking her out of school and encouraging her to be herself, allowing what was in her to develop without censure. I think that’s why the theme of “home” is so important to her. It’s where she goes back to revitalize. “Runaway and Awakening “ are clues, both written when she was young.. “If I keep running will I run if the earth” or “ I kept running for a soft place to fall”. , and then “ Take me home. I can’t take this anymore”. Nature , her forest, and home became a place of solace and comfort. Perhaps at a time she did feel depression so deep that she thought of death. One if her sisters is bipolar and that must have been difficult to live with too. In time, she realize how much she or people she lived would have lost. She said she started singing because her mother said her music was like medicine to her. I think that’s why so many of us are drawn to her music and words and why she captivates. People say they can’t put a definition on Aurora’s music and how it makes them feel. I think that’s because we haven’t experienced what connected her to the earth or grounded her, so when we hear her, we gravitate towards that feeling of being connected, healed. Fir whatever reason, I am happy she decided to share herself with us.

Check "Why did you have to go to a place I couldn't follow" this is one of her most moving compositions where she lets us into her personal world with I suspect a great deal of trust in the basic human friendship response to loss,. It should strike cords in our own hearts and minds. It's officially not released so even more gratitude to Aurora for not pulling it.

Ok, nobody is going to talk about what is plopped right in front of or faces? Instead we want to focus all our attention on this pretty little girl whose beauty is pure and unadorned, without any makeup whatsoever, just like her voice, a beauty displayed without a sense of seething sexuality like all the other cliché female performers. She presents herself like no other in the worldly world; she is sincere, forthright and guileless. Yet, when I finally heard her message - that it is that same old schlock all the others put forth, you know, the "Do what thou wilt" doctrine, the same old woke nonsense that is so pervasive - I began to scrub her from my feed. I realized I was taken in by her "angel of light" presentation. Nothing new here... But now! Lookie here!! She stands before the crucifixion of my Lord and sings her testimony, her offering! Is it mockery or real? She is on stage with God dying on the cross singing how lucky SHE is to be alive. Does no one want to talk about this? Are there no Christians who wish to speak up? Cliff Beats crosses himself and says "I'm not religious here, don't get crazy, or anything like that." WHAT?! Are you ashamed of your Lord? Are you embarrassed of the gospel?
