    Did you expect that the founder of Pilates was a guy?

    I train muay thai in Thailand and developed sciatica so bad I couldn't walk so took ten privates and, OMG, I became a convert. Helped me heal and now I do MT twice a week and pilates twice and love both. 57 so helps me keep going!

      Yass! So excited for you! Joseph Pilates was a boxer so a lot of his work was support boxers. I know not the same as Muay Thai but there are definitely exercises that will support what you love. Glad you're doing Pilates regularly!

      @@jasoncie4926 It helps rehab and strengthen though it takes time. I only do twice a week now from pilates or when I feel like it or after a flight and I enjoy too so it's great stuff. Try it!

    Can someone with back issues use Pilates as a remedy

    • @OnlinePilatesClasses
      @OnlinePilatesClasses  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sure! Depends on the the issue. You may want to do a private session or sessions before jumping into a class.

      I have a very very physical job and I use Pilates to strengthen muscles that I don’t use at my job. That has helped me with my “joint” pain. It’s muscle weakness- your body collapses on the joints when the muscles aren’t doing their thing. My core strength nearly fully corrected my back pain (of course not 100% but significantly better). Muscle usage is never a bad thing.

      I also do mat Pilates at home and go at my own pace. If anything is truly painful or wrong, stop that exercise immediately.

      Yes! you need to meet a professional instructor like her to fix your back pain. A lot of so called 'Pilates instructors' don't even know how to do and teach Pilates. That is how I gained a back pain after I joined a Pilate studio.
