  • This time, I go to my Japanese hometown of Hidaka to visit friends before a trip back to the US. I miss sunrise because of too much revelry, but still manage to have a wonderful time shooting.

Always lovely to see the countryside and its creatures. Those ants reminded me of a time I was standing photographing a lizard on a gatepost, and when I returned to my vehicle a friend who was a passenger informed me that a snake had slithered over my boot as I stood there! Such can be the encounters in nature. The log you photographed reminded me of an alligator snoozing in the sun😀

Drinking all night and getting tipsy until sunrise 😂 now we’re talking! It’s a beautiful time out and catching up with friends, already a great trip and being able to squeeze in some time to still shoot, makes it much better (even if it wasn’t “epic”). Looking forward to the US trip.

I find it hard to put meaning and emotions in landscape photography. considering getting a dji mini 4 to open up options

Yeah, I’ve been thinking about either the osmo 3 or the action cam. I may go with the action cam simply because it has weather sealing.

Absolutely love that dragonfly photo. The colors are just stunning. Also, I’m with @allegrosotto2126…I thought the log looked like an alligator, too.

Thank you Lina! I was lucky to find it amongst all those flowers, and the fact that it just staying there for a time allowing me to snap his portrait! 😂
