I remember listening to this song a lot back in the day. My husband was in Iraq amd we had a brand new baby. Our baby, who is 18 now, was 7 weeks old when he was deployed. It was a hard time. He got hit by an ied overseas. He's okay but got medically discharged with a purple heart. I feel for anyone going through it. It's hard. Stay strong.
To all our veterans and active service members, thank you for your service. I genuinely appreciate all that you’ve done and all that you do. And thank you to all the family members of service members for your sacrifices as well and for staying strong for them. 🇺🇸 ♥️
Most people don't realize that the families back home are also serving while their loved ones are in harm's way. My Great-grandfather lost both of her son's too war, one WWII and the other in Vietnam, and she never got over it till the day she died. Always honor those that serve our nation and the loved ones back home.
Shout out to you Billy. Appreciate your service and sacrifice to protect our country. I have an uncle (David Jordan) who served in WWII as a Navajo Code Talker. He passed on about 8 years ago. I think of him every day.
Already cried yesterday missing my son on Mother's Day through his deployment. Now got me crying again at work! Thank you to all those serving and those who have served.
Did he pass or come home? I'm sorry if I'm prying I'm just curious. Prayers to your son and thank you for him protecting us. I can't imagine an immediate family member making that sacrifice I used to have nightmares after my brother said he wanted to join the army.
I actually met the lead singer for Lonestar. They came to the truck stop i was working at for diesel. I sang a bit of Amazed with him. I wish i had gotten a picture with him, or a video of him picking on me the next night at the county fair in Turlock CA.
Ps. There is also another version of this song where the spouses and kids are speaking sending messages to their vets. While the song is playing. It's very sweet.
@@DSJ1967 definitely a good mom. Im just too hood for my mom to feel the same. Shes a country girl with a son who a city boy and i dont think anything less than death would be bad in her mind.
I thought this was actually going to be the Messages from home version. There's an actual version of the song called that which has a lady and her family talking on the phone about her husband etc. Makes the song 10x more beautiful.
Billy, you wear your heart on your sleeve, and we all love you even more for it..you aren't afraid to show your emotions, and that's what makes you so special..God bless you, young man ...Lonestar has many great songs...enjoy them ❤❤
1967 Daddy was recalled to active duty and my baby sister was born while he was overseas. Back in the day only one phone call a month, no skyp, no email no video chats.
my husband is deployed right now.. watching this makes me tear up. he's been gone for 6 months and i've been alone through lockdown literally the whole time. thanks for acknowledging the spouses ❤️
@@somedudethatwatches7834 I don't know, it's definitely got his old video vibes so it could be a re-upload. It's definitely an older recording. Still good though.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to each every person who has served and is serving. Your sacrifices are not lost on me. I'm forever grateful to each and everyone of you.
This song makes ne cry HARD everg time i listen to it. Like im where you paused it after the imaginary friend line and the waterworks are already steady flowing. Beautiful song. Love it.
You and every soldier are a God send to us. You had the courage to do what I never could do. And you have no idea how much i appreciate you and all of our brothers and sister who serve.
My husband served in the AF just shy of 22 years and after he retired, I added up his deployments and remotes. He was gone 7 whole years while active duty. My husband always sent my daughter flowers to school on her birthday if he was gone. My kids only ever knew their dad as a military guy because he was retiring as they were graduating. It was our way of life and we just adjusted.
NO WAY THIS IS 1 OF MY ULTIMATE & FAV LISTENS ITS SO HEARTWARMING & CRY EVERYTIME EITHER VERSION BUT THE 1 WITH THE ACTUAL VET FAMILIES VOICEOVERS IS SO MUCH BETTER YOU GOTTA LISTEN TO THAT 1!
This song has never failed to make me cry. So sweet and heart touching. May God bless our troops and our veterans thank you for what you do. I know it's tough to be away from your families I honestly don't know how you do it.
My younger brother's in the Marines. I haven't seen him since he left for boot camp in February. He's at Pendelton now in California. I miss him so much it hurts. Hearing these kinds of songs hits differently these days.
How is he doing now? I'm fortunate none of my immediate family members went off to war. I used to have nightmares when my brother said he wanted to join the army when I was little. I couldn't imagine if it actually happened, military families are tough.
My best friend from childhood hood is a USMC he two tours in afghan we would write every week and i would send him all his junk food he loves beef jerky
You Should Be Here, Bagpipes Cryin', I Drive Your Truck, If You're Reading This, Private Malone, and especially Letters From Home are all great country songs that will make you cry. Fair warning if anyone suggests them.
The hardest versions to listen to were at Christmas time when radio stations recorded messages to and from military members who were away from their loved ones. They'd record the messages and place them in spots throughout this song. I got to where I'd have to pull the car over because I was crying so hard.
this song was done twice once without the military aspect and then after 911 they went in and put in the soliders and the USA chant as well as the military pics.... the 911 version i always have to pause even if I'm just hearing the audio
Lonestar has some incredible songs such as Mountains and Amazed. You heard Patti Labelle’s version when she was on the Masked Singer now ya gotta listen to the original.
When I deployed to Iraq it was torture. My wife dropped me off at the airport and then there were weather problems, so I called her to come back to say goodbye for a second time. Absolute shock to the system when I came back home for good. But I know it was torture for her every day.
My ex boyfriend was in Iraq and Afghanistan. I sent him a letter everyday..even if it was just silly things just so he would get something and a package each week. At the time we weren't together, but I wanted him to know he was loved, cared about and thought about everyday.
Brother, another video you want to check if you haven't already Radney Foster Angel Flight (radio tower remix) One vet to another- Fair warning- BYSE will be in attendance.
Ther is another version out there that has phone calls in it, this one is good but the other version is a lot better. You need to hear it. From one vet to another you need to hear it. It gets me every time

Beautiful song sung beautifully by Richie McDonald, lead singer of Lonestar.
This is my favorite veteran song! 🇺🇲
Ps. There is also another version of this song where the spouses and kids are speaking sending messages to their vets. While the song is playing. It's very sweet.
Dont forget the Moms.. my son is a Marine and I miss him terribly.
Mine is a disabled Marine veteran -- it was so tough. Never was I ever so scared and so proud at the same time. Keep the faith, Mom - oohrah!
Navy mom who hasn't seen her son in almost 2yrs ......damn Covid
My mom would be happy for me to be gone overseas. At least initially but i feel like it would get boring for my mom and brothers if i wasnt home
Mine is about to deploy and he isn't coming home first. I am already crying....

Been military my whole life( I'm 59) grew up with my dad, then me, my son, and my hubby ..this is and always be my life..🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
God Bless you and all vets
Lonestar had some great songs. "Smile", "Amazed", Tequila talking" , "No news"
You reacted to this song over a year ago. But I love this anyway because you are so genuine. I love Byse
It looks like it might be a re-upload of a video that was taken down, for one reason or another, but I could be wrong.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to each every person who has served and is serving. Your sacrifices are not lost on me. I'm forever grateful to each and everyone of you.
Beautiful song...and message
My son was born when I was deployed to Desert Shield/Storm, hardest thing I've ever gone through, he was two months old when I got home.
Somebody's Someone by Lonestar is another one worth watching. Be sure to have plenty of tissues.
This song makes ne cry HARD everg time i listen to it. Like im where you paused it after the imaginary friend line and the waterworks are already steady flowing. Beautiful song. Love it.

Miss my boys man.
I believe they re-released this right after 9/11 the video to also include the first responders & the unsung heros that did all they could to help.

They'd record the messages and place them in spots throughout this song. I got to where I'd have to pull the car over because I was crying so hard.
Your right brother
Awesome song!
Thank God I didn't have a child when I was in the Army. I don't think I could have left her at home not knowing if I would ever see her again.
So early BYSE hasn't even entered the chat yet.
You are funny stay honest and you can never go wrong still giving you likes.
Mountains by Lone Star. A great song to make you feel inspired!
This song took on a new meaning when it was redone after 9-11. Regardless of the video, it is a tear-jerker.
Billy, to honor the wives and children of our service members you might consider reacting to they "also serve" by John Conlee.
When i was little my brother was seriously considering joining the army and i had nightmares for months. Military families are tough.
Another video that was military themed in the early 90s was SheDaisy - Come home soon
was humming this the second I saw the notification lol
Before I even start the video I already know BYSE will be in attendance
I'm glad they did this for the troops, but it's a great song for any dad who travels for work especially truckers
