I remember listening to this song a lot back in the day. My husband was in Iraq amd we had a brand new baby. Our baby, who is 18 now, was 7 weeks old when he was deployed. It was a hard time. He got hit by an ied overseas. He's okay but got medically discharged with a purple heart. I feel for anyone going through it. It's hard. Stay strong.

Most people don't realize that the families back home are also serving while their loved ones are in harm's way. My Great-grandfather lost both of her son's too war, one WWII and the other in Vietnam, and she never got over it till the day she died.
Always honor those that serve our nation and the loved ones back home.

My husband always sent my daughter flowers to school on her birthday if he was gone. My kids only ever knew their dad as a military guy because he was retiring as they were graduating.
