Outstanding work Eric! That bridge is 2nd to none! You knocked it out of the park with that salt weathering, even more impressive considering it was your first time salt weathering. All those trains look awesome going over that bridge. It's definitely a landmark on your layout. I love bridges on layouts, they really give more character to a layout. It also brings my inner kid out seeing a model train going over a bridge. Great video Eric!
Hi Eric - The finished bridge looks great. The green and rust is big time realism. The salt seems to be the trick. The photos of the prototypical trestles help the viewers to understand your objective for this bridge. Thanks for the show & tell, & cool night photography. Cheers from Michigan
I enjoyed watching you run trains across this new bridge for several nights from your new dropcam as you filmed this video. Tonight I enjoyed the finished video ever more! Great Job on showcasing your new steel bridge! It makes your layout really POP!!!
FANTASTIC PRODUCTION! Your "labor of love" is beautiful. I enjoyed seeing so many of your trains, especially the MEC PanAm, which I also run. Looking forward to following your progress in the months and years ahead. Thanks so much for sharing.
Definitely one of the best bridges in private model railroading no question about that. And the great thing about it is that its one of a kind and all yours. Thanks for sharing this Eric
It's great to finally see the completed bridge and train runnings "up close and personal" after watching all of the filming on the dropcams! Incredible job Eric and something that you and the model railroading community should be proud of...especially 3-Rail O Scale Modelers!!!!!! Rock on!!!
Absolutely superb Eric. Congratulations on the completion and opening of your expansive new bridge. Thank you so much for sharing your inspiration with us.
Great Stuff here Eric. Great presentation of the bridge which is just mind blowing being made of stainless steel. The trains are awesome. Digging all the Run bys !!
It is really nice to have the money to get that wonderful bridge done. The rest of your layout is nice and will look great when it is finished with grass etc....
Wow, I am really impressed. The color and the horizontal framework reminds me of the elevated sections of the NYC subway systems in the Bronx and Queens when living there in the 50 thru early 70s.
Excellent. The bridge came out great. I'm a retired Ironworker. The support towers are perfect, in real life they change the size of the girders and beams to support the weight. The push is straight down. The tower doesn't need to be wide like the rest. It would be sitting on a massive footing though. Ok enough info. Great job and a great layout.
I really like the es44s, the 261, great camera shot with the 700e Hudson. That was awesome in itself. Another group of es44's even better yet! The Challenger!!!! Oh yeah! More NS heritage units of the SD 70's. What a lineup!
Very nice. The bridge looks fantastic. I really like the Chicago area, too, to model train scenes. The salt weathering technique is genius. I picked up the weathering book you mentioned in your earlier video. Really enjoying all your "work" in creating these videos.
It looks great. I'm so excited that you finally got to complete your project after such a long period of time. It looks amazing, and all of your trains do too! Cheers.
The trains look awesome snaking over the bridge. The bridge adds real character to the layout. A straight bridge would indeed been somewhat "boring" and lifeless. Great job!
The layout looks even more amazing ( if you can say that ) than it did with the trestle complete. Congratulation on the beautiful weathering job and the ribbon cutting Eric. Great video too, of the the trains running. 5***** RT
Wow! That is so cool. I believe in your curved bridge concept. When I saw this video, the first place I thought of was Cincinnati Oh. A train bridge runs parallel to the Brent Spence I 71 / I 75 bridge across the Ohio River, this track feeds into several elevated train bridges which are similar to your bridge. What amazes me are the number of switch tracks in the elevated sections. Again, awesome job.
I do not even have a train layout myself but I am 100% hooked on watching your videos they are really entertaining and educational and wonderfully done it’s almost like watching a real Road
A very ambitious project complete congratulations eric it looks stunning. .love the colour of the bridge and the salt weathering. .well worth around £1900.00 inc shipping as its bespoke to your system and as matt says one of a kind............jim
Always enjoy your videos. You explain everything so clearly. Thought something happened to you as we haven't heard from you in awhile. You have quite an eclectic collection!
I think it was a great idea to curve the bridge the way you did for a few reasons. For one, it won't block the view of the layout yet gives you one spot to see the engines up close on the bridge. It contours to the development of how things a laid out on the "ground" and the way it curves back before it gets to the turntable gives you many options up front for scenery and buildings. Not sure if I'm describing correctly what I mean, but that's the best I can describe it.
Awesome video Eric, the bridge looks great! I remember seeing you film this on your new live camera. I only wished you would have run more trains... haha. One of your best productions yet. Looking forward to more.
WOW Eric, this video was worth the wait!!!!!!!!!!!! Man the bridge looks great bro and what a fantastic video to celebrate its completion! Can't wait to see it in person! Thanks for the video bro and have a great evening!
Nice perspective on the E700 NYC Hudson, with the wide diameter on the curved track I didn't expect to see the over hang of some of the engines and cars. Awaiting next video maybe a switcher(0-4-0, SW or GP).
Great video Eric. I model the smaller scales but what your doing with this layout shows that you can properly model in "O". To many times at train shows I see exhibits of "O" scale on a table going in a circle at full throttle and this doesn't appeal to me. I love all the fore thought that you gave in to the design of the bridge. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area not far from the Muir trestle and one of my best friends drives for BNSF. Think I have to go take a look at this bridge .
Amazing as always! But one thing I did notice is that there isn't a way to bring a train around the upper level and have it come off back down the ramp without reversing the whole time. Just a little observation and I'm loving the progress!
Great vid. Geez, I thought that deer was going to jump right out in front of us. Hah haah. I thought I was the only one who would dream up something like a ribbon cutting ceremony. :-D Well done sir, well done indeed.
In videos I've seen, the military trains had tanks. The tanks turrets where faced towards the back of the tank. I don't know if they changed that though. Also congrats on the new bridge man! It looks awesome.
Wow that bridge looks amazing. Nice job by the craftsman and excellent paint/weathering. It must have been extremely expensive but what a looker. I know I should keep my mouth shut but I can't. When tanks are in transit, like your Abrams, the gun will be pointing backwards and be locked down on the hull of the vehicle. It's your layout and you do what you want but I just had to say it ;)
Hi Mr Siegel. How are you? My son Blake will be 15 yrs old his birthday on Jan 22nd. He is very developmentally delayed & intelligent as well. He's quiet an expert on trains of all sorts. Old timers & new. He said to me today that you are his hero! He watches your videos a lot. I just wanted to write you & let you know about my son. If you want, you can write him back or surprise him in another great way. We live in DFW Texas area. His father & him used to take train rides in our area when he was little. Sadly his father has sense passed away. Thank you Mr Siegel for hosting & posting your videos on trains. Blake wants a new train all the time & wants to be an engineer someday. I pray his dream comes true, though he won'r be competent enough. ~*~Mona, mom to Blake~*~
Wonderful! You have a beautiful center piece that makes your layout stand out from most others. As if the turntable was not enough. The color and shape [of the bridge] are a great artist rendering and a peak into how your mind works (very well I might add).
Its really cool.the handrails are super difficult to get ant the El is a very hard act to get to look the same. But you did them nice. Im working on an El with various stuff.. Nice Work!
oh wow, i remembered this channel. this was one of my favorite mode railroading channels when i was younger, so many memories.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it!
@Ericstrains Your Welcome! 😊

Cheers from Michigan
From Michigan!
I always like coming back and watching your older videos to see how much the layouts evolved over the years.
I enjoyed watching you run trains across this new bridge for several nights from your new dropcam as you filmed this video. Tonight I enjoyed the finished video ever more! Great Job on showcasing your new steel bridge! It makes your layout really POP!!!
Thanks!

Eric, a beautiful showcase of all of your hard work. The steel bride will be something we'll all envy for years to come. Thank you for sharing.

Great Stuff here Eric. Great presentation of the bridge which is just mind blowing being made of stainless steel. The trains are awesome. Digging all the Run bys !!
This is the best Stainless Steel Bridge I've ever seen, and I love how you weathered it👍👍
Thanks 👍
Great Job on showcasing your new steel bridge and again another great video. Thanks again for sharing, Gerry and Greg.
you are a BEAST! the weathering and painting of your bridge is epic, so realistic, stunning work.
Outstanding story teller of your railroad layout.
Hey Eric ThankYou for the Great Show and Congratulation on the completion of the Great Looking new bridge!
It is really nice to have the money to get that wonderful bridge done. The rest of your layout is nice and will look great when it is finished with grass etc....
Awesome to have such a vision come together! The blue goose whistle can't be beat!
Impressive collection! Excellent layout! That bridge is perfect! You're very creative! Keep up the good work!
Wow, I am really impressed. The color and the horizontal framework reminds me of the elevated sections of the NYC subway systems in the Bronx and Queens when living there in the 50 thru early 70s.
Great work, Eric. Thanks for sharing all that you do.
Eric is always entertaining. One of the most fun sites on TH-cam.
Incredible bridge. Looks like something in Pennsylvania. Very realistic. Nice job!
Wow, I'm speechless. The work put into this project is just absolutely incredible. Congratulations on finishing the amazing steel bridge!
Love it, Love it! As always, best clip was the ride around the loop. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent. The bridge came out great. I'm a retired Ironworker. The support towers are perfect, in real life they change the size of the girders and beams to support the weight. Another top notch video Eric. I enjoyed watching you create it via your webcam.
Congratulations Eric on the Bridge! I've been here through the hole construction process and it turned out great!
All the trains look so majestic snaking across the bridge
Thats a million dollar bridge you got there ! ! Priceless man. Great great job to you and your friend Jim ! ! !
It looks great. I'm so excited that you finally got to complete your project after such a long period of time. It looks amazing, and all of your trains do too! Cheers.
Absolutely amazing bridge and video. The color is spot on for the bridges around me in IL. I could sit down there for days... Great great job!
Awesome Eric. It's great to finally see the bridge complete. Fantastic work!
Another great video Eric. Thanks for taking the time to make your videos and of course sharing them with all of us. I really enjoy watching them.
HOMERUN! Well done Eric! Well done!
Excellent choice for your first train across the bridge!
love the work you put in Eric, great job
Great looking bridge! And I love the use of stainless steel, and then salt weathering to make it look rusty!
The trains look awesome snaking over the bridge. The bridge adds real character to the layout. A straight bridge would indeed been somewhat "boring" and lifeless. Great job!
Great job Eric! Love the finished product! Enjoy your labor of love!
That was awesome, Eric! You must be really proud after all these years of hard work. :)
That is one hell of a bridge and the trains are awesome too.
Scott
Thanks for putting your train project on TH-cam. I enjoyed it!
The layout looks even more amazing ( if you can say that ) than it did with the trestle complete. Congratulation on the beautiful weathering job and the ribbon cutting Eric. Great video too, of the the trains running. 5***** RT
Great Video, the bridge is beautiful and excellent job in instillation and running of your trains sets..
Look at the locks dude!! Lol 😆 Thanks for the video.

wow I cant even tell you how amazing it looks. great job on the weathering
Great vision and creativity with the design and color of the bridge. Keep up the great work but don't stress too much. Super video!
I do not even have a train layout myself but I am 100% hooked on watching your videos they are really entertaining and educational and wonderfully done it’s almost like watching a real Road

Always enjoy your videos. You explain everything so clearly. Thought something happened to you as we haven't heard from you in awhile. You have quite an eclectic collection!
All I can say is AMAZING! I love the curves in this bridge. What an awesome Job!
The ride on view of the vision 700E is amazing!!!! Great angle on the curves with that setup (33:00).

Very cool Eric, bridge looks incredible and I must say you have quite a collection.
Great video and seeing trains running Eric
Awesome video Eric, the bridge looks great! I remember seeing you film this on your new live camera. I only wished you would have run more trains... haha. One of your best productions yet. Looking forward to more.
Thanks!

The overhang from the challenger...whoa!
Nice job Eric. I think that you need to have the challenger pull some more cars.
Hi Eric, Thanks for posting these videos, you have no idea the amount of hours Ive spent watching them. Congrats on the layout, its looking amazing.
Great job Eric... Thank you for Sharing

Yeah unless you're running something like O-99 curves some of those big engines are going to have some overhang.
That was a great video, I really liked the trains eye veiw.
Amazing layout Eric.
Congrates on your finshing the steel bridge!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amazing work. Well done.
The price actually surprises me, I would have guessed a whole lot more. Looks great BTW.
I love the whistle on the orient express it sounds soo amazing! Great vid Eric!
Great video Eric. I model the smaller scales but what your doing with this layout shows that you can properly model in "O". I love the vision line Hudson. By far my favorite engine Lionel has ever made. I hope to get one someday. They’re really expensive.
Amazing setup and collection
Thanks!
The weathering is outstanding! The more I look at it the more it looks like a real old RR bridge here in PA or somewhere in WVA..
This bridge is a work of art
that is awesome looking, it was cool watching it from the beginning
Amazing as always! But one thing I did notice is that there isn't a way to bring a train around the upper level and have it come off back down the ramp without reversing the whole time. Just a little observation and I'm loving the progress!
Sehr schöne Spur0 Anlage. Daumen hoch 👍. Viele Grüße aus Germany und weiter so. Bin sehr begeistert.
Very impressive - great job!
I know I am really late to the party but that bridge looks great! Nice addition to the layout! Looking awesome!
Thanks!
Very impressive layout. You must have a really good job or hit the lottery to get your collection
Great vid. Geez, I thought that deer was going to jump right out in front of us. Hah haah. I thought I was the only one who would dream up something like a ribbon cutting ceremony. :-D Well done sir, well done indeed.
love your bridge . you did a wonderful job . how ever I WOULD LOVE TO SEE A LOT OF RED LIGHTS on your hand rails . wonderful lay out ..
In videos I've seen, the military trains had tanks. The tanks turrets where faced towards the back of the tank. I don't know if they changed that though. Also congrats on the new bridge man! It looks awesome.
