Exactly. The Highest of the High that are still living on that level-Dylan,Wonder, McCartney. Not that well known, is he produced some terrific records, with Lesley Gore in the early sixties too.
You know you've had a special impact and/or you've lived a long life when you've had a documentary ( "Listen Up") about your life that came out 34 years prior to your passing. Mr Jones got to have both.
He was the man behind the best-selling album of all time, Thriller, along with the best-selling single, We Are The World, and many more!!!! Rest in peace, Quincy Jones, and thank you for the awesome music and beyond!!!!
Nobody lived and got the most out of this life like he did. Rest in Peace, Q. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, and legions of fans.🙏🌹🙏🌹🙏 🌹🙏
Condolences to his family, friends, and worldwide fans. He composed, conducted, and arranged so many hit songs with an endless list of the biggest musicians. One of my favorites was "Just Once" with James Ingram.
Wow. There's not enough room here to say enough about Mr. Quincy Jones, the Master, and Maestro of the second half of the 20th century. Tough to watch my heroes pass on.
I listened to some of his songs like Lalo Bossa Nova and the album. I even watched his segment from Fantasia 2000 where he introduces Rhapsody in Blue, I love that part of the show. Rest well, Mr. Jones.🙏
🕊️Another Musical 🎵🎶 Legend Gone Home To Rest In Heavenly Paradise 🕊️ God Bless Quincy Jones And His Family Sending Prayers And Condolences 🛐🙏🏼✝️🙌🏼💜✨🤲🏼💖✨❤️
RIP to the greatest producer who ever lived! Quincy worked with Micahel Jackson on his three albums - Bad, Thriller and Off the Wall. Frank Sinatra, We Are the World, Miles Davis, Rufus and Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, etc. Composed for films such as Austin Powers, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, The Wiz, Color Purple, Sandford and Son. Q's resume is incredible! God bless his soul🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
For the record, THE BROTHERS JOHNSON("Strawberry Letter 23" and "I'll Be Good To you", etc.) were the FIRST of his accomplishments as a producer in the music world-and all of their albums/singles were NUMBER ONE on the charts and sold MILLIONS of copies-before Rufus and Chaka Khan or Michael Jackson, and all of the rest! Louis Johnson, bassist for the group, was also one of the most influential bass players of his day and era! Just thought someone would be interested in knowing these FACTS about The Brothers Johnson...and Quincy Jones' work with them, in the 1970s! 11-5-24.
You're welcome-and I see you are familiar with bassist Louis Johnson; I guess I should've known, going by your TH-cam name, which indicates you are a musician, or are heavily involved in music in some kind of way, yes? 11-5-24.
A true legend, his music is known world wide today is a sad day for me I followed Mr Jones career for many many years. My all time favorite composition by him was the love theme to the “ The Getaway” a Steve McQueen movie but there are so many countless other composition ‘s he wrote , a true genius. My sympathies to his entire family and close friends , we lost a great man today. He also molded Micheal Jackson career not an easy task. RIP mr Jones and thank you for all the beautiful music that will continue to play in the many years , many years to come. He belongs to the ages now , he will never be forgotten.
In all fairness to Berry Gordy of the legendary Motown Records, it was he who first, molded Michael's career; Michael was a SUPERSTAR before he ever got with Quincy, who then came along and took his career to the next level! 11-5-24.
Another music legend, Prince, passed away in 2016, and music artiste Morris Day, of the music band "Morris Day and The Time," described Prince as follows: "He came through here like a hurricane." Quincy Jones also "came through here like a hurricane." In the 2018 biographical documentary "Quincy," on Quincy Jones and his life, there is a video clip of Quincy Jones being interviewed by Oprah Winfrey, where Quincy Jones makes an interesting statement, saying that he and his contemporaries were not done making music, and that he and his contemporaries would continue making the best quality music they could, to leave behind for future generations. The way Quincy put it, is that we want our work to speak for itself, so much so, that future generations "will know we came through here." Loved the way Quincy put it. For what it’s worth Mr. Jones, future generations will know the likes of Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Louis Armstrong, Elvis Presley and Prince "came through here," and future generations too, will know that Quincy Jones "came through here." Rest in Peace, Mr. Jones. Regards, Michael M. Kamau, Nairobi, Kenya, East Africa, 5th November 2024.
He lived a long life. Thats a blessing. May he rest in peace and may his family and friends have peace during this time.
RIP Quincy Jones 🕊 Legend 🎶

Exactly. The Highest of the High that are still living on that level-Dylan,Wonder, McCartney. Not that well known, is he produced some terrific records, with Lesley Gore in the early sixties too.
Sad News! He will forever be remembered! Thanks for all you did! We appreciate you
At least he is reunited with MJ and Ray. Godspeed, Quincy.
Don’t forget QJ was close friends with Sinatra as well as he produced a couple of Blue Eyes 👀 final albums as well.
Not to mention, he was married to Peggy Lipton, of The Mod squad fame.
I wonder did he come up with that notable theme song
@@dennismclaurin1487 I think someone else can confirm? I would not be surprised if he did composed the mob squad theme.
