I know and understand why it isn't done, but surely I'm not the only one wishing some of these big cats would get an Italian Tuneup once in a while! Get that ol' Maybach up in the north end of the tach, hit top gear, let's see what those torsion bars can do! As nice as it is to have running, driving examples, seeing them toddle around at 1200RPM in 1st gear is almost painful to watch. Let them stretch their legs once in a while. Engines love that. Especially vintage engines.
I am sure that the driver was told to baby it. Panthers were notorious for having their final drives fail. These final drives were originally intended for a much lighter vehicle.
@@TestECull in 2021 it had an issue with the transmission where it was only able to turn left from memory and the other thing is this tank is basically all original and they want to keep it that way so if something breaks its hard to find another original to replace it
Yes, but he didn't sell it. That was a lie on the show. The tank belonged to the Cadman brothers - they sold it to the Australian museum, Bruce's company was merely contracted to restore it. The Cadman's used to run a huge show in the UK called 'War and Peace' and this tank was a static display every year, as Panther 425. It didn't run back then and the engine was stored in the garage belonging to another family member. Bruce's team put it all back together and did a superb job. I believe one of the brothers now lives in Australia and he appears to have been helping the museum to acquire armour for their collection.

Such a great machine there is a great vid on you tube of a panther tank in Germany going at some speed amazing to watch.
I hate when a near perfect machine is crewed for a display by guys in yellow vests, or other modern gear. THESE GUYS DID IT RIGHT!

Because they built and restored this tank, I think they get invited out there for this event.
