One thing was not clear, the butterfly damage feels like it is 10% of the current health AFTER damage is dealt. That is why I think this item is terrible. If you deal a huge chunk of burst damage and leave their health at 40%, the butterflies will deal damage based on the 40%, and not based on the slowly diminishing hp like demon hunter sword. This item only works if you are a dot mage, like gord and change, and are against tanks.
Yep I agree for the same reason, it’s a trash item xD So funny when Xavier bursts you to around 30% of your max health and the lanterns tickle you and are not at all a threat
if you do the math, this item will pretty much do more damage than any other item in the game for mages, even against squishy heroes. the hp numbers in this game are really high, any random marksman/mage will get up to over 4000 BASE health (if you wanna compare it to league of legends, this is double the base health they normally get in that game). it gets even stronger if you have really good poke and can proc it alot, but even a situation where you are just oneshotting people it will still do more than lightning truncheon or skypiercer on squishy heroes. lol
Even though it says "calculated before damage reduction" does the negative resistance (achived with magic pierce; meaning damage will be increased, not reduced) get calculated?
That's a great question. I just tested it out, and unfortunately, no, the increased damage doesn't get calculated either. It strictly follows the exact number from the skill's description 😅
I think 'Wishing Lantern' is better since DHS's Attack Damage stats might be a bit wasted on her 😅. But I'll experiment with it later if I get the chance. Thank you for the idea 🙏
Heroes with continuous burst damage, like Gord or Chang'e, can make great use of this item. In my opinion, it’s a viable choice for any magic-damage hero, depending on the situation. For heroes like Alice or Cecilion, the Mana stats and cooldown reduction are the main reasons to consider this item (≧▽≦)
I'm not entirely sure about this since I haven't done any experiments related to it. However, I think Divine Glaive can't be directly compared to Wishing Lantern. If your enemy has a lot of Magic Resistance items, Divine Glaive is the better choice. This is because Wishing Lantern's butterfly damage can still be reduced by magic resistance stats. That said, I often combine the two to burst down tanky heroes 😂 As for 'Wishing Lantern' maybe some player choose it because of its Mana Stats and 10% CDR which is great IMO 😊
For Cecil, it can be a great item especially when you're against High-HP Enemy. But IMO, the reason why it can be a good item is because it has Mana Stats for more damage and 10% CDR to spam your ultimate for more stack 😁

I somehow agree with your comment. I think it would be better if it could deal the 'Before' damage even after we’ve damaged them 😅

Your editing skills are top-notch.
Good explanation, please make more
Thank you 🙏
so like when can you use wishing lantern??
Either team fights
Heroes like Odette and others benefits on it because of her ult Has a big Aoe
As for me, if my enemies got 2/3 Tanky heroes (Usually 2 Fighters + 1 Tank) I will rush for Wishing Lantern, combined with Divine Glaive later 😆
I would say mages that can attack multiple times could be great in using it. But like the youtuber has said, only when you have multiple tanky enemy
Magic heroes who can deal continous damage.
Burst heroes are not recommended except for rare case like xavier.

@@MLQuickGuide so penetration items only increase the damage of the butterfly itself, not the base damage in order to activate the butterflies right?

Thank you so much, I'll try my best 😄🙏
Compare dhs to wishing lantern which is better for silvanna

Hmm, I wonder about that. Going to conduct experiment for it 😁
Which heros r good for this item???

@@MLQuickGuide It does damage on current ten percent of hp of targets only few defense items can reduce hp base damage
