Very nice, great idea! Suggestions to make it even better, add a foot rest for the left foot so kid doesn't accidentally extend leg and scrape against left tire. Add another two lines so that each one can can change the direction of the drill for forward and reverse. Should be the same concept as the cable line assembly for the "gas" pedal just with less travel to change direction switch. Otherwise great build!
I am a mother of a one year old and I hope I can make something similar for her by the time she is two! Awesome work!!! Thanks for sharing and the inspiration 💚
Nice job! If it hasn't been mentioned yet, I'd recommend a foot rest or guard for the LH foot. Would be easy for their foot to get pinched between the tire and wood frame when turning left.

4k dislikes, must be so called people that aren't smart enough to build one themselves. Great job, very cool the only thing that matters is your kid loves it. I think it's the best home made go cart out there.
As a father to 3 - Great work for a small childs go kart and the type of thing I like to make myself. As an overgrown adult who watches to much TH-cam- does anyone else think two drills (maybe 4 if your clever) and better gearing would make it more fun?! As a Father again - maybe two drills would add fun but also to much speed and danger for a young child. Side note - did anyone see those drill powered suitcases on The Grand Tour? They were proper quick and worth a look.
Love it. Not really the drill, but the fact that your tiny drill mobile has much better Ackerman angles than 90% of YT builders making GIANT motorized vehicles. And they use the lame gocart method.
This is a million times better than buying an electric kart from a store. I am sure he will remember this one for the rest of his life. This might even encourage him to tinker and create his own stuff in the future.
My work got those new brushless DeWALT drills. Some guys got 5Ah batteries, I got 2Ah batteries. Let me tell, you those things are very powerful. Those would be sweet on this cart.

it aint natural selection if a being that nature made in such a way that it needs care for several years, isn't being cared for properly. let's leave all our babies in the forest from now on: none of them learned how to hunt and build shelter? natural selection innit?
Good idea ... I would install a wheel arch and a hand brake and maybe a drink holder, a toy basket and probably a battery trailer. Horns, lights ... Just have fun at home.. 😉
I was gonna do the same thing on my project thinking the drill will be providing the braking. How wrong I was. The problem was the drill was instantly braking and introducing shocks into rear axle setup. Had to change it for ratchet style like on bikes so when drill stops kart can keep going. it means no reverse gear and require a brake now.
Oh,da braucht man aber ein sehr Leistungsstarken Akkuschrauber.Hätte man nicht gleich einen kleinen Anlasser Motor nehmen können. EJ S: Agreed .. kids need to be doing something real & active, and learn by watching their parents actually accomplish something (like building a gokart) ... parents who think their kid is SAFE when sitting on the couch playing video games, won't be around to watch their fat kids die from heart attacks at age 45.
Well this is just awesome. Well done. Could you upgrade the power later on with a more powerful drill? Also, what happened to the sound at the end? It would be great to hear it when it is driving.
