I saw Laurie and Marion twice at The Gateshead library hall. Brilliant they were. As a novice player I was amazed when Laurie took a piece of paper from his pocket and played from the chord symbols he had scribbled on it.
I really must send Laurie a very late apology for my late colleages lack ofcontrol when Laurie and Marion were appearing at the Bournemouth Pavilion theatre with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. Marion started to sing and Kenneth "exploded." He thought it was going to be a classical concert with the BSO there. He probably did not know who Laurie or Marion were and we were only in the forth row centre stalls that were specially chosen so we could see the piano keyboard. I am sure they would remember this occasion!
