    You're saving 2 to 3 seconds tops on some of the apps. Is it worth selling the Note 5 and to splash out on a Note 8? No way IMO.

      MystiKaiL The ip68 rating trumps just about every other feature of the Note 5. I am typing this on a note 5, but have an 8 coming in as I type this. Have been a note user since the note 2.

      @Random-KP 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Michael Scherling No doubt the Note 8 will be better. But the Note 5 is still holding its ground wonderfully here, despite being 2 years old. I could easily flog my Note 5 and buy a Note 8. But I'm not seeing a significant reason to upgrade yet, especially when speed is being compared between both devices.

      I also have a Note 5 standing strong. My wife has a S7 and I see no difference in performance... that until we play games, graphics render smoothly on her phone. I like gaming as well as productivity and for that reason I am going to upgrade to the Note 8. Note 5 has been awesome.

    • @osvaldoguillen1543
      @osvaldoguillen1543 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The upgrade isn't about seconds. In that case I might as well never upgrade. It will always be 2 to 4 seconds. The upgrade comes because of more memory in the note 8 and new camera and new features .

    Was one of those who received their N8s early after preordering. Had a N3 which never gave me any issues. 1080p, 3gb of ram, great battery, 5.7" screen, etc. One of the Gawd androids imo. Only downside was the auto-focus on the camera. Terrible by today's standards. Love my Unlocked N8. Hasn't lagged or frozen once since day one and I'm using it all day, both for work and leisure. By far the best Note of the series. I wanted it to remain 5.7 but I can live with the 6.3 infinity screen...

    I have upgraded my note 5 and to the note 8. And i can tell you there's quite a huge difference in smoothness when you put the phone into real daily use situations. Though i have to say you will miss using the note 5 because of the flat screen and clickable home button. It feels really nice on the hand!

    men I can't stop triggering for you not using the pressure sensor on the note 8. why are you swiping up from the botton and then pressing the home button?!?!?!?!?!!! It's so annoying that I just can't watch the video because you do it every time!

  • @ericgasak3983
    @ericgasak3983 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes, I agree you're saving 2-3 seconds tops honestly, I don't think that it's worth the upgrade the Note 5 still has it the note 8 is yes a good looking phone but not a $1000.00 upgrade i'll stay with the note 5

  • @yo_stannis
    @yo_stannis 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

  • @SirGarmaples
    @SirGarmaples 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I was thinking to buy a Snapdragon 835 phone but this stopped me. Both phones perform the same in apps. I'll stick with my Note5, I'll buy the new ones only if there's a huge difference in the loading times of the apps I use, RAM doesn't matter, to me. (XDA, Chrome, TH-cam, Discord, Google, etc)
    Though, there are two things that might make me change phones, the Android version on new phones and the camera.

    • @ericgasak3983
      @ericgasak3983 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes you may be happier but the question is it worth upgrading? I don't think so between the two the note 5 still has it so why spend $900 when you don't have to. I have a iPhone 5s which is my daily phone and works perfectly people are out here spending $1000's of dollars on the latest. Point is the note 5 is still fast and the picture quality is still superb there is a slim difference between the two what does it matter anyway.

    When you open apps in which you didn't even login with an account, the comparison is almost useless because that "login screen" starts almost immediately on most devices. The apps don't have any content to load, so your comparison is not that relevant.

    I have a Verizon Note 5 (its camera is broken which is sad but I can't afford to upgrade.) It's pretty decent in the optimized mode and blazes through stuff in high performance mode but the battery sucks with that. The battery life is not amazing.

    Not too much difference.... Useless Note8

  • @huskynox1
    @huskynox1 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I returned my Note 8 and am sticking with the Note 5. The Note 8 is very choppy, not all the time, but a lot of the times the transitions are choppy. I would never expect this from a new phone. The Note 5 running Nougat is smoother. As this video shows the Note 8 is only marginally faster in certain situations. The only thing I liked better on the Note 8 was the 'always on' display and the nice feel in the hand. One bad thing about the larger ratio Note 8 display is, it doesn't support all apps, so you get a "stretched" out look on certain apps, I didn't like that. Overall, not worth the $760 upgrade (-$300 Note 5 trade-in). I would rather have a phone that doesn't stumble like the Note 8. I'm disappointed with Samsung. I've been waiting for a new, better Note and after 2 years it's still not here! Sad!

    Why u comparing not5 to note8. U already know that note8 made for today. And note5 was made for that time when in 2015. There is NO reason to Compare old to new one. When note8 came to birth. It was better in that time. Who r u and who gave u permission to judge. If SAMSUNG and Custemers happy with note5 or note8 then who u r to show thuz review. R u out of ur mind MR EXPERT!!
